Cast: Joo Won, Kim Tae Hee, Jo Hyun Jae, Chae Jung Ahn, Jeong Wung In

Plot: Kim Tae Hyeon (Joo Won) is a talented surgeon. Desperate for money to pay his sister's medical bills, he adopts the code name Yong Pal and offers his medical skills to those in need of medical attention but who cannot do so publicly, dealing with gangsters and corrupt plutocrats. It is while making such a house call that Tae Hyeon rescues "sleeping beauty" Han Yeo Jin (Kim Tae Hee), a chaebol heiress, from a medically-induced coma, leading to unintended consequences.

I wish I didn't pick so many stinkers to watch this year (High Society, Warm and Cozy) and watched instead some of the dramas you mentioned.

Ji Sung's acting in Kill Me, Heal Me deserves a Daesang this year.

Damn, I still have to watch Missing Noir M and everyone raved about Beloved Eun Dong. I also want to finish I Remember You and My Beautiful Bride from the Heartless City writer.

I watched High Society and Warm and Cozy on FFd lol.

My Beautiful Bride is on my list too...I cheated and check out some recaps and the ending lol

Eundong becomes some makjang realness but is really good from what I've heard about future episodes

I heard the ending of Missing Noir M is bad but that first episode was too crazy to not keep going

I used the FF button so much that I had to go back sometimes lol. I only have a few episodes left but I just can't finish Warm and Cozy. The noble idiocy wasn't noble anymore, just plain stupid.

I stayed strong this time and didn't cheat lol but I already saw gifs of I Remember You's ending.

I like makjang as long as it's entertaining. Better than watching a snooze fest, where nothing happens.

Missing Noir M's first episode impressed me so much, I have to watch this drama. I will just pretend the ending never happened like in God's Gift.

Listen...once I understood why that dude was stuck on the bitch and that he was CHOOSING to be that way I was already done and wanted to knock some sense into him. I don't blame you for dropping because I was watching entire episodes in 5 minutes.

God's Gift...ha ha I never watched but did hear all about the ending...people could just take the open ending and think he survived. None of that would have happened if he had not tried to cover up the little girl's "murder" the first time though

I don't even remember his name anymore. Like really....really, REALLY? His character was so aggravating.

I don't dislike the open ending that much. I kind of expected it, but the way it was resolved just threw everything that happened before under the bus.

My Beautiful Bride is interesting. I kinda liked the pyramid of antagonists and felt the character's motivations were easy to understand and not too ridiculous.

KMHM was an unexpected delight, still not done being impressed by how such wacky concept came out so winning. and lbr jisung was the main reason. (though props to the leading lady for bringin her A game and making me love her)

I didn't care too much for IRY, its a glorified procedural and the romance is a non starter but it's not a terrible drama. It was just ok/middling quality to me. aside from KMHM i thought healer, pinocchio, and angry mom were pretty standout dramas this year. Esp Angry Mom is in my top 10 drama favorites now. As is Heart to Heart, which sadly didn't get the attention it deserved imo. Currently though I think Oh My Ghostess is a good drama to invest in (it ends this week as well! so you can binge) and I personally would recommend Mask as well if you havent watched it already. It's the perfect makjang melo tbh. Words I thought I would never utter about any melodrama haha.

kill me heal me went from fun and delightful to glorified flashbacks and a soapy mess quick

Disagree, it stayed fun for a while and then for like 2-3 eps it was really annoying non stop cry fest but after that it picked up again. it maintained a pretty good pace for being 20 hours long. Also it helps that the angst generated was from a place of genuine tragedy and managed to avoid the common kdrama mistake of seeming like much ado about nothing but I will admit that the flashbacks and callbacks were too frequent and too long. it def came off as filler to make up for the bloated episode lengths that kdramas have to contend with and also as if the audience would be too dumb to remmeber what shin se gi said last week so let's have him repeat it 28383010x via the same flashback.
I can't think of a drama that I have no nitpicks about but this one the good far outweighed the bed, which is p much my litmus test at whether a drama was good/enjoyable for me or not.
