How does their label keep doing these goddesses so wrong? This choreo is painful to watch (seriously, what are they doing in the chorus), and their obvious lack of enthusiasm makes it worse.

I think I'm being so harsh because GFRIEND's flawless dancing has just ruined me for gg choreo lately, but I just....this is so bad. This song is such a bop, too.

I was worried about their comfort level before but something like this says to me they've made peace with the sexiness at least a little bit.

I like that they're being more aegyo in this one to play up the innocence when clearly they are trolling everyone seem to be laughing at the hypocrisy of cuteness when it comes to them. Their first 3 (4?) songs and videos were of the cute variety and no one cared, Marionette was the opposite and did well for them but when they scaled back by a lot for 'Fool' no one cared AGAIN.

You can't fault them for being too sexy when, during their innocence, you never gave them a second glance. Would anyone have cared about the song if they went innocent in the first place? perhaps or maybe the song would've flopped as badly as Fool did.

You're reading into this a bit with 'clearly they are trolling'. I don't think you can know the group's (or LBR, their management's) intentions from just this video. If anything, I'd think the mgmt is doing market research, seeing how many fans will watch a 'cute' video (in which case the deck is stacked against cute-Stellar cause this choreo is really half-assed compared to their other choreo).

I think everyone on this board can see the commercial logic of going sexy for Stellar, but that doesn't mean that they have to like the particularly skeezy and exploitative way the company has gone about it, where the skeeviness and exploitation are explicitly baked into the appeal.

This. I think some fans are giving their company way too much credit, tbh. I mean, it'd be nice to believe they're trolling b/c it would give the members more autonomy and self-awareness than the alternatives, but we have no way of knowing for sure and frankly it isn't likely. And I have a really hard time the company is trying to make some kind of statement that cute/innocent concepts are equally fanservicey and pandering as sexy ones. Call me cynical, but I tend to believe K-pop companies care more about profit than about making some kind of first-world social justice statement. More likely, like you said, it's market research, or just more fanservice.

The majority of the other choreo wasn't actually that bad (pretty in line w/other girl group dances) just like the stuff on the floor and some other certain moves but I will probably learn this one instead because I'm not a super sexy person..

I was wondering if they would still keep the bouncing in this one because it looked soooo awkward in the original and they did but made it actually look good! Why couldn't they do it like that from the start?

Anyway, this, 9muses, and Hello Venus are still the best songs of the summer imo

Even though the other choreo has cringeworthy moments, I personally find this more cringeworthy. Watching adult women acting like 12-15 year olds will always make me uncomfortable.

Plus, this choreo is so.... boring.
