A recent message board thread about former trainees who could have debuted under SM Entertainment has attracted a lot of attention and responses.
The thread featured several former trainees and info about their time with the entertainment company. While several of the trainees went on to join other groups under other agencies, the thread also noted that some left the industry altogether.
In 2008, there was a girlgroup named Touchs [ok] that was supposed to debut, but in the end, they couldn’t. This is one of their members, Stella. Apparently she was also rumored to debut with Girls’ Generation.
Another trainee, Jang Ha Jin, was also rumored to debut under Girls’ Generation, but she left SM in 2006. Now she’s a student at KAIST. [get that education, sis!]
Another trainee was supposed to debut with SS501 but he decided to quit the agency. He was a famous ulzzang named Han Gyuwan.
Hotshot‘s Timoteo was rumored to debut with SHINee under the name Moongyu, but he also decided to leave SM.
Another idol, BTS‘s Jin, was street-casted by SM Entertainment when he was 15 years old. However, he thought that he was being scammed and did not attend the audition. If he had joined SM Entertainment instead of Big Hit Entertainment, he would have debuted with EXO.
The post attracted a lot of attention from netizens, with many focusing on the story regarding BTS’s Jin.

bighit REALLY takes care of BTS---at least from the outside looking in. the boys look happy in general (tho i swear they need a vacation) and BTS's slow rise to fame is DEF better than the shitshow that surrounds EXO.
also, as much as i generally enjoy EXO's music i think BTS>>>>>>>> especially in terms of stage presence, choreography, and general growth in artistry.

Suho was also supposed to debut with SHINee and it was supposed to be a 4 member group in the beginning. I'm glad it didn't turn out like that because this OT5 is perfect like this tbh.
