Xiumin of EXO just might be the next member of his group to jump onto the big screen!

It has been reported that Xiumin is currently in talks to make his big screen debut with his first-ever movie role.

On May 19, a representative of SM Entertainment revealed to X Sports News, “Xiumin has received a casting offer for the movie ‘Kim Seon Dal’ (working title) and is looking over it positively.”

“Kim Seon Dal” is said to be a production based on a classical novel, which tells the story of the main hero, Kim Seon Dal. It was previously revealed that actor Yoo Seung Ho will be taking on the lead male role.

If accepted, Xiumin will be playing a close friend of Kim Seon Dal and a member of his fraud ring. While the character is innocent and kind in nature, he dreams of becoming the best con man.

Xiumin will act in supporting role and be introduced as an actor through the movie 'Kim Seondal' (Director Park Daemin * Producer M Pictures).

'Kim Seondal' is a film adaptation of the classic Kim Seondal story of the plate rod at Taedong River (translator's note: I have no idea what this story is >o<). Child actor Yoo Seungho will return as a Joseon magician after serving in the army.

We can expect Xiumin fans' expectations to be high for this 'Kim Seondal.'

In Xiumin's recent apeparance on JTBC 'Crime Scene 2', he displayed great reasoning skills and acting skills but this will be his first formal step into acting.

He will appear in the movie as one who envies and chases down Kim Seondal played by Yoo Seungho. (translator's note: I made a mistake earlier! Re-read and figured it out.)

Do they all get movie/drama deals now or what? I mean, good for them, but how many of EXO can actually act? I watched one episode of their reality show and I only found D.O's acting decent (okay Sehun too, but in an awkwardly cute kind of way).

This. I think if an idol is a great actor/actress, then please go ahead and give them all those roles, but fact is that most idols suck at acting. Acting is a profession that has to be learn (just like being an entertainer). Sure, some are naturals, but most aren't. For example, I love Changmin, but stopped watching "Paradise Ranch" (which I only started watching because of him), because he is just a terrible, terrible actor.
Most idols just get movie/drama deals, because they're idols and not because they're talented, which is sad, because I'm sure that there are a lot of young and talented actors/actresses in Korea, who should get a chance to show what they can do. Not idols. Idols already have a job (and it's not acting).

I think this will be one of the rare times I will be breaking my promise of watching an exo member act.
I haven't even watched D.O's drama It's Okay It's Love nor his movie Cart, and I'm a big D.O bias.
But since this is Umin we're talking about...I must watch it.
I seriously fell harder for him in Crime Scene 2.
Get it Uminnie-oppa! I will prolly cry and scream as I watch him lol.

lol i don't understand why ppl are being so negative about this. it's only a supporting role. he's not the main attraction. for all we know, he could have like 30 seconds of screen time. he said he wanted to do a cameo so.. haha

ah so this is why he wanted to grow his hair out.
