FT Island Members Were Isolated In Philippines Due To Storm, Communication Cut Off

Idol band, FT Island, was isolated in the Philippines due to a storm.

FT Island left for Cebu, Philippines on 25th September for the filming of their new music video. On their way there, they met with a massive storm and were isolated in a critical situation.

On the following day after FT Island arrived in the Philippines, storm “Ketsana” slammed the Philippines and it was reported that as on 27th September, 72 people had either gone missing or dead and recorded a total of 250,000 victims. It was said to be the worst storm to hit the country in 40 years.

FT Island’s management company, F&C Music, tried contacting FT Island and their staff who are in Philippines to check on their safety but their local lines were unreachable.

The storm caused communication system to be cut off. Their management company got worried and impatient for the past two days trying to get in touch with them. Luckily, both sides managed to get in contact with each other late on 27th. Upon knowing that they are safe, their management heaved a sigh of relief.

Fortunately, it was also known that the area where FT Island is staying is not greatly affected by the storm.

Schedule for the filming of their music video was slightly delayed. They had plans for filming on aircrafts but it was aborted. It was originally planned to be a 4 days 3 nights filming but they had to rush the filming within 2 days through the night due to the storm. They plan to return on 28th after the filming.

On the other hand, FT Island’s vocal Lee Hongki is filming for SBS Wed-Thu drama “You’re Beautiful“.

What's with Cebu? Must be the beaches. Bi went there too, I think. And they shot an SMTown music video there way back in the day as well.

Your right. Cebu actually has great beaches. People love it here because although Cebu is a metropolitan area, everything is just minutes away. I live in the city but i could get to a really nice beach in just 15-30 minutes.

I was in EDSA the other day wading through waist-deep water. Left home at 8 only to be home by 1 AM because we were stranded by the floods. Other places had it worse - 6 feet. Rich or poor, no one was spared. It's really sad. Last thing I heard (not sure if this is confirmed) is that some crocodiles from the Pasig Zoo have escaped...and yeah. :/ It's just massive chaos right now. I hope everyone stays safe. The country is just going through a really bad time.

And meteorologist found out this is worse than Hurrican Katrina. :/

i was actually having second thoughts about this news when i read about it on allkpop....hahahaha i wasn't really believing that ft island would be here in the philippines...but...yah...in the end..this news turns out to be a fact...:)

but...i'm just glad that they are safe...:)

i feel sort of bad that their first experience here in our country is a bad one..i just hope that this incident doesn't stop them from ever returning here...and experience the real essence of the philippines..:)
