No matter how much I think about it, they really didn't promote much in Korea and didn't fully utilize their hype. Realistically, they will not be releasing anything until the end of this year so might as well YG send them to variety or anything. I watched High Kick the other day and damn, Seungyoon need to act again.
somehow, I don't want them to ended up like 2NE1 or worst, lee hi. 2NE1 has all the potential for solo works and such but never given a chance while lee hi.....
anyway, I LOVE the relationship between Winner and Inner Circle. idk if it's because Incles are mostly older fans but you can see how nicely they treated each other.
YG tends to focus more on music than variety so unless it's a show focused on them you're generally not going to see them do the same running around other rookies do. Instead they did a Zepp tour within a month of debut, did radio and the major variety show for idols, performed at end of year shows, and then launched a fan meet tour

MTE. YG usually doesn't let their rookies disappear in the spotlight/charts for too long. 2NE1 was given CF single - single - mini album - 3 solos promo. Lee Hayi was 1st single - 2nd single - year end shows - album promo. AkMu was album - 2nd MV - 3rd MV - tour - new single - subunit. All of these within just 6 months of debut date.
WINNER had album promo concurrent in Japan (leading to absences in shows in the already short 1.5 mos) - year end shows - tour. Everything seemed rushed. They didn't spread it out like they usually do for rookies. The whole Japan-Korea was a logistics nightmare. This is probably because they were originally scheduled to debut July (based on the teaser) in Korea , September (tour) in Japan but then Bom happened. :\
you get my point! They really did not do much in Korea. Even the whole fanmeet tour were pretty much in small scale. Looking at this WWIC, they clearly did not have any problem to fill up the whole stadium few months after debut meaning they have THAT much fans in Korea. It's hard to admit but even 2NE1 couldn't do that at Winner's age but to compare, 2NE1 were everywhere during their first year. Now Winner has even stop their 'World Wide conference' after just one show in Korea and numerous shows in China and Japan.
2ne1 debut promos were perfect. by the end of the year, they were bagging top CFs (bean pole, baskin robbins, online market, phones, etc). they had a completely unhyped song chart in their hiatus. :')
ia wwic was a success. but tours are for already established fans. releases/broadcast bring in new fans and public recognition. idk why they aren't doing much of those. maybe yg has some grandplan where more waiting = more hype? risky for rookies & under utilizing the boys' ability to entertain.
I got a little emotional watching that, goodness, but Lee Hee is so cute! And Taehyun looks really good in the light blue colored shirt at the end of the video.
