EXID Reveals They Can Eat More Thanks to Success of “Up & Down”

As girl group sensation EXID continues to climb up the charts, their agency is also providing them with a few extra perks.

In an appearance on SBS’s “One Night of TV Entertainment,” EXID participated in a question and answer segment with fans. At one point, a male fan came on stage and asked, “Has your agency treated you any differently now that ‘Up & Down’ has gotten popular?”

“We used to only get 6,000 won (approximately 5 USD) per person for each meal, but that’s gone up a bit now,” they replied. “We can also have coffee and other things for dessert, too. We’re really happy about that.” Then the male fan confessed that he wanted a hug from Junghwa who happily obliged, making all of the other men jealous.

I find myself having mixed feelings about WI, and one of the reasons is the food challenges. Like, damn, you know they don't get to eat, and now you're making them compete in sometimes humiliating ways to get food? ehhhh =/

I also have issues with Weekly Idol mainly bc more and more the MCs cross the line into being plain mean or touching the idols in ways theyre obviously not comfortable with.the food challenges im a bit more meh on becausr usually all the group members end up getting fed.fed.but yeah the desperation some of them show for the food is super telling

yep, that's another reason I have issues with the show too. It's gotten OTT. I've started just watching clips or highlights ppl post on YT.

I hate how the MCs can be mean but people pass it off as "teasing" but the group members can't tease back in the same way because of the difference in age and career seniority so they just laugh it off like "haha, yeah I'm not pretty and I don't dance well and I'm dumb haha. That's why you wanted me on the show because I suck."

Uuuh, there were some cases were the idols came right back at the MC's though and they took it fine. Not to mention that the show itself is constantly making fun of them about their weight and appearance...but hey, since they're comedians (though, only one really is) and old and ugly, it doesn't matter!

Same here. It's why I don't watch it as much as I used to. The sexy dance was uncomfortable (2 adults making teens, some even underage, dance sexily....ummm no thanks). I haven't seen the recent episodes in full so idk what other things they make them do.

I haven't watched in quite a while, w/ the exception of the GOT7 eps. It's pretty much just what was said above that's made me feel uncomfy. Their uncle fanning can be embarrassing too, but I haven't seen them cross any lines myself (seen ppl complain before). Its just not fun to watch, and like you said, some of these idols are legit kids.

I don't think the food challenges are a big deal since they feed the idols anyway... if anything it's a step up from the programs that go on all day and DON'T provide any food, which is most of them.

But DoniConi get a bit too handsy sometimes and variety shows are degrading in general, that much is true.

I feel like being in a big group (5+ members) esp a rookie one can sometimes be needlessly expensive. Like, that's a family kinda and they all eat together and likely live together etc, just living expenses are /outrageous/ If I was ever an idol I'd want to debut in like, a duo
