CNBLUE‘s Jung Yong Hwa may just become the next CEO of FNC Entertainment and he has the current CEO to thank.
On yesterday’s broadcast of MBC‘s “Radio Star“,CEO Han Seong Ho was asked who will he choose between CNBLUE’s Jung Yong Hwa or FTISLAND‘s Lee Hong Ki as successor of his company. CEO Han chose the CNBLUE leader as his successor for his own company and directly said to him: “you are the only one who can reach higher heights than I have.”
The CEO also explained that Jung Yong Hwa does not create trouble and is very good when it comes to company politics. He further complimented him and pointed out that whenever he has free time, he goes to the company to take care of trainees.
Jung Yong Hwa did not hide his surprise and even joked if what CEO Han said could be considered a verbal agreement. CEO Han continued and stated that the CNBLUE leader is also the type to do everything well, further explaining his choice for the question.
Meanwhile, FNC Entertainment released a statement to enraged fans of FTISLAND which stated: “To CEO Han Seong Ho, both Lee Hong Ki and Jung Yong Hwa are musicians that he treasures dearly. Everything is just for show, since it is a variety show. Every child is dear to his parents. Please do not misunderstand.”

1. [+363, -17] Isn't FT Island the group that made that company as big as they are now anyway..?
2. [+350, -17] The CEO does indeed put them on the backburner too much when FT Island is the one that funded them in the beginning...
3. [+218, -16] A group's output is dependent on how much support the company gives them... Jung Yonghwa gets drama roles and still gets solo albums even when they don't do well... Meanwhile FT Island fans already know that they won't get any support. The CEO talked down way too much about Lee Hongki on yesterday's broadcast. He could've at least ended his talk with saying Hongki's still a nice kid or something but he didn't.
4. [+23, -6] Try to support Lee Hongki half as much as they support Jung Yonghwa. This group got the company popular and now that they're popular enough to go on shows like this, they sit there talking crap about their own artists?
5. [+20, -1] The CEO thinks CNBLUE never cut at their own image? But I still remember their plagiarism controversy
6. [+14, -0] Han Sung Ho that stupid bastard
7. [+14, -3] Yeah, the CEO pissed me off yesterday too. Can't believe he's even a CEO.
8. [+13, -3] They should talk this out among themselves...

FNC Rep, "Both Lee Hongki and Jung Yonghwa are musicians that CEO Han Sung Ho feel preciously of. A variety show is just a variety show. You bite all 10 fingers and there's not one finger that doesn't hurt. We hope there aren't any misunderstandings."
1. [+861, -161] The CEO is so supericial
2. [+659, -84] Only now he says that ㅋㅋㅋ beating him down and then treating him with medicine? ㅋㅋㅋ He was really thoughtless with his words yesterday
3. [+653, -81] Tsk tsk... as a Jung Yonghwa fan, I felt bad for Lee Hongki on yesterday's episode
4. [+476, -74] So many bad rumors surrounding this guy...
5. [+416, -50] How laughable ㅋㅋㅋ

Date: 2015-02-05 06:48 pm (UTC)and honestly Yong Hwa is probably a better fit
Just like CL or Panda would be better fit than GD or TOP
That CEO seems like a tool though, always saying unnecessary stuff

Date: 2015-02-05 10:24 pm (UTC)I watched him on mnet scandal when I was younger so this was even before I matured a little and started paying attention to feminist issues, still even at that age I recognized that his behavior was super controlling.
In their very first meeting he critucizes her for wearing revealing clothes. Like legitimately gets upset by it. Then when she comes back for like another date wearing more appropriate clothing he's all like oh I'm happy she listens to me. He also got genuinely upset when she talked on the phone with a guy. . It's just all very old way of thinking. Throughout the whole show he's just so domineering and weird. I felt super uncomfortable because everyone just accepted it so casually. Even now whenever I see him instead of appreciating his outspokenness I see it less as a sign of him being honest and down to earth and more if a sign of him being just acdouche bag.

Date: 2015-02-05 08:30 pm (UTC)tbh this article in particular is not that bad, it's ok to say one person has a more managerial/business-minded mindset than another. The problem is that the entire show the CEO nuanced things the wrong way and at the end it had to be Yonghwa to show appreciation for FTI (lol the irony, indeed Yonghwa did a more CEO-like job at Radiostar than the actual CEO).
The two bands get along well but the fandoms are always in tension. Why does he insist on jeopardising their friendship and making the fandoms be even more at odds?
*end of rant (-.-) *

Date: 2015-02-06 03:21 am (UTC)if there's anything wrong about this whole thing is why they even need to ask that kind of question. as if the tension between both fandom isn't strained enough already. also, if the CEO is smart he'd find a way not to answer this. he, more than anyone, should know there's already enough uproar about him favoring cn blue over ft island.
enough is enough.

Date: 2015-02-06 04:58 am (UTC)I don't see Hongki as an fnc ceo either. His interest is definitely something else. The other members, maybe.
It's the way he is putting down hongki is what irks me.
Appreciate your artists a bit more please.
