Rap Monster Comments on Diss Battle Culture and iKON's Bobby

Rap Monster recently opened up about the diss battle going on between him and iKON's Bobby.

In recall, Bobby's lyrics for one of his songs, "Come Here", gained attention for sounding like it was meant for BTS' rapper Rap Monster. The lyrics go, "They call me a monster, I never called myself that. If talent were looks, I'm Won Bin in front of bulletproof glass."

Rap Monster commented, "I always listen to new music, as well as famous rappers who worked on the song, so I knew about [Bobby's song]. There was a rhyme in that song that made me think that it was talking about me, so I saw it as some sort of feedback."

At the 2014 MAMA, Rap Monster said, "Put your guard up and try to keep up, rapper. You're a tone-deaf rapper." The BTS rapper then explained that the rap was more of a "feedback" rather than a criticism aimed at a particular person. "Rappers are able to express what they want to say through their raps. They know how to put their emotions into figures of speech. As for me, I put my thoughts and feelings into a song. If it was meant to diss [someone], it would've been more direct and aggressive. There was a jab my way, so I sent one back. If there was an uppercut, it would've been a different problem. But it's not like [Bobby and I] have ill feelings towards each other."

"I think the culture [of diss battles] is very exciting in itself. Of course, it's not just good to just discriminate and attack others, but I think it's good that people are taking interest in hip hop and are able to listen to music again through these situations," Rap Monster said on the culture of diss battles.

Both Rap Monster and Bobby are in good terms, it was even said that after their 2014 MAMA stage, Bobby told Rap Monster that he did well, and Rap Monster also said the same to Bobby.

I think it was just because of the use of "monster" and "bulletproof" in close succession. but honestly IA that that's a reach, I think he was much more likely to be referring to Won Bin and that rly iconic scene from Ahjusshi.

korea just doesn't have the culture that would allow rap battles to happen naturally, and omona is full of people talking about a culture they don't understand lmao cause honestly? who are you to be saying rap battles/disses are ~*~foolish~*~ and have no place in rap anymore?

and since fans can't take a diss gratefully and act like it was a diss to themselves, we get what happened last time like jfc. i'd pay to see rapmon clap someone back hardcore, because he probably could, but oh well.

I find it hilarious tbh Bobby's diss track was tame af, I don't think kpop fans can handle the diss culture, and lbr the whole diss thing between idols was cringe worthy and hilarious to say the least, I still remember people going 'YASSS RAVI YASSS' and I was sitting here feeling 2nd hand embarrassment for everyone involved.

TL;DR: Bobby took a jab, so Rapmon took a jab back. Nobody hates each other, nobody wants to destroy each other. Everybody go home, nothing to see here.
