Roommate News

On the January 13 episode of SBS reality show “Roommate,” Girls’ Generation’s Sunny and Orange Caramel’s Nana shared their thoughts on marriage and dating.

“I didn’t when I was younger, but now I want to get married,” Nana shared, to which Sunny replied, “Do you have to get married? You can just date.”

She continued, “Right now, I just want to date casually. I want to experience my heart pounding. I want to receive a text message and worry [about how to respond], hold the phone and worry over it for a long time.”

Nana interjected, “I’m not like that at all. I hate playing hard to get. I don’t see why you have to [play games] when you like someone.”

Sunny was also asked whether she had dated since debuting. She gave an unexpected response, “What kind of dating?”

When asked whether there are different kinds of dating, Sunny insisted there are, “Isn’t there serious dating and casual dating?”

Lee Gook Joo, who was intensely watching Sunny and Nana’s exchange, asked Sunny to count all of the relationships, regardless of whether they were serious or casual.

Sunny shocked Nana and Lee Gook Joo by asking, “Do I have to count that far?”

As if coming to her senses she suddenly said, “Wait, I am on air, aren’t I?”

Girls′ Generation′s Sunny recently shared that she plans on being celibate.

On January 13, SBS′ Roommate showed Sunny, Lee Guk Joo, and After School′s Nana talking about dating.

Although much idol girl group members tend to be careful when talking about such topic, Nana and Sunny actively participated in the conversation, revealing their honest thoughts.

Talking about her loneliness, Lee Guk Joo said, "Don′t you have that feeling about a boyfriend? When you′re lonely, you can just meet up friends, but a boyfriend is a whole different territory."

Nana agreed, saying "Of course."
"When I was young, I didn′t think much about dating or marriage, but after I turned 20, my thoughts changed. I want to get married."

However, Sunny said, "I′m celibate. Do I have to get married?"

"You date if you want to, so I don′t know why I have to [get married]," said Sunny, surprising Nana and Lee Guk Joo.

Jackson was shocked upon finding out that he has exceeded the limit on his card.

During the January 20 broadcast of SBS’ Roommate, Shoo visited the house along with her twin daughters Ra Hee and Ra Yul upon getting invited by Girls’ Generation (SNSD)’s Sunny.

Shoo went grocery shopping along with her junior singers Jackson and Orange Caramel’s Nana. Jackson said, “You can buy beef too. Buy everything you want,” as he said that he will pay for the groceries.

However, Jackson exceeded the limit on his card and was not able to pay for the groceries, which came out to be 160,000 won. Shoo ended up paying with her card.

Jackson revealed, “I got paid two months ago. I don’t know, I just went to the convenient store several times. I just went to the convenient store four times.”’

Jackson said to Shoo, “I don’t have 160,000 won because I’m poor right now. Noona, you should come visit again next month. I can pay once I get paid,” bringing out laughter.

The latest episode of SBS reality show “Roommate” topped viewer figure rankings for its time slot when it was aired on January 20. The show achieved the Number One spot according to figures released by Nielsen Korea, an organization that monitors viewer rates.

Nielsen Korea said “Roommate” reached viewer ratings of 7 percent, which is a 1.5 percent increase from the previous episode of the show. The program placed almost 2 percentage points higher than second-placed “Cool Kiz on the Block,” which registered 5.1 percent of the viewership at the same time.

The January 20 episode featured a visit from former S.E.S member Shoo, who brought her twin daughters to the “Roommate” house. The twins’ visit caused great excitement for the regular cast members, and after a few tears, they seemed to become more comfortable with their surroundings.

S.E.S. member Shoo recently visited the “Roommate” house with her twin daughters, recounting her friendship with Sunny and shedding new light on old rumors of romance between herself and Lee Dong Wook.

Talking about her history with Sunny, Shoo said, “I first saw Sunny when she was in third grade. We’re both part of SM Entertainment.” She then asked, “Do you remember me from back then? The Sunny I knew back then has grown so much.”

While Shoo and her daughters certainly had a happy visit to the house, singing and dancing to hit S.E.S. songs, the singer also recounted events surrounding rumors that she and “Roommate” member Lee Dong Wook had dated.

“After those rumors came out, Lee Dong Wook and I stopped being friends,” she said. “I really couldn’t understand where those rumors came from. (Former S.E.S. member) Eugene was with us when we met together, so I really don’t know why those rumors came out.”

“At the time, I was hanging out with Eugene, Lee Dong Wook, and others, but after the rumors came out, we didn’t meet anymore. We went from being pretty good friends to not even contacting one another,” she said, expressing her bitterness toward the controversy.

Nevertheless, Shoo and the “Roommate” cast had an excellent time together playing with Shoo’s daughters, Rahee and Rayul.

Im Hyo Sung revealed the romantic love story of him and his wife, Shoo.

On the episode of SBS’s “Roommate 2” aired on January 27, Im Hyo Sung made a surprise visit to Shoo and their twin daughters Ra Hee and Ra Yul at the share house.

When Jo Se Ho said, “I hear that you weren’t a fan of S.E.S before,” Im Hyo Sung replied, “Though I never had a favorite singer, Shoo was always my favorite celebrity.”

He added, “I had her picture in the locker room and told myself that I would marry her one day. She was my motivation to become a professional basketball player.”

When Jo Se Ho asked, “How did the two of you first meet,” he answered, “Shoo was the friend of my close friend’s girlfriend, so I thought that was my opportunity.”

“He didn’t seem like a basketball player. He was quiet and had glasses on,” Shoo described her first impression of Im Hyo Sung. “We were drinking wine with some of our friends when we first met, and that day we only greeted each other.”

“At first, we were just friends. He used to take care of my meals because he was worried I might not eat,” she added. “Even when I turned him down, he didn’t stop taking care of me.”

After School’s Nana opened up on her dating history.

The January 27 broadcast of SBS’ Roommate 2 will feature a ‘Girl Talk’ session with Lee Guk Joo, Girls’ Generation (SNSD)’s Sunny and Nana sharing stories on their love life in room one.

The three girls who gathered in room one started sharing their stories related to dating when Lee Guk Joo straightforwardly asked, “Have you ever dated a celebrity?”

Nana, in particular, found Lee Guk Joo and Sunny’s stories interesting and revealed her ideal type saying, “I like guys with aegyo.”

The three girls then started talking about gifts they have received and Nana said, “I remember the handmade photobook the most,” as she reminisced on the past. Then Lee Guk Goo asked her, “Was he a celebrity?” which reportedly surprised Nana.

----

Sharing about their past dating experiences, After School′s Nana brought up a gift she′s received from an old boyfriend that she′ll never forget.

On the January 27 broadcast of SBS′ Roommate, Nana asked SNSD′s Sunny and Lee Guk Joo if they′ve ever received a memorable present from an ex before. Nana then awkwardly smiled, saying, "I actually brought it up because I wanted to share what I received.

"I received something from my ex-boyfriend that was no joke. It really remains in my memory. He went to all the places that we′ve been to since we first started dating and took pictures of those places. He wrote down what we did on those days and tied all the letters together to make a book."

"I was so touched when I saw it," said Nana.

When Sunny said, "I was worried you were going to say it was a luxury bag," Nana replied, "I was so moved that it was incomparable to luxury items or jewels."

"I met that person the longest. I really liked him."

Lee Guk Joo asked if he was a celebrity, and Nana replied, "I don′t know," making the girls burst out laughing.

-----

After School member Nana elaborated on her previous relationships on the latest episode of “Roommate 2,” also disclosing that she has dated other celebrities in the past.

“When I date, I don’t go into it easily and I don’t break up easily, either,” she said while talking with other “Roommate” members Sunny and Lee Guk Joo. “The number of boyfriends that I’ve had can be counted on one hand. A number of them were celebrities. My longest relationship lasted about two years.”

Nana then elaborated on her experience dating celebrities, saying, “You can’t really date when you’re going out with someone famous. You’re really limited to certain things. It’s hard to go out to eat, so you’re really limited to just your house, your car, or an empty movie theater. You have to go really far out (from Seoul) if you want to see a movie.”

Girls’ Generation (SNSD)’s Sunny shocked everyone by making a confession about her first love.

The January 27 broadcast of SBS’ Roommate 2 will show Lee Guk Joo, Sunny and After School’s Nana holding a candid talk session on their love lives.

The three girls shared their experience on dating starting with ‘the most unforgettable gifts’ they received from their ex-lovers.

In the middle of conversation, Lee Guk Joo straightforwardly asked them if they have ever held onto someone.

Then Sunny brought up a story about her first love confessing, “When we were breaking up, I held his wrist and asked, ‘Can we not break up?’”

-----

Getting deep into their girl talk, SNSD′s Sunny and After School′s Nana got candid about their past dating experiences.

On the January 27 broadcast of SBS′ Roommate, Lee Guk Joo brought up the topic of dating celebrities.

Regarding this, Sunny replied, "I′ve dated a celebrity before. Just because he′s a celebrity doesn′t make it any more or less comfortable. It all depends person by person, case by case."

When asked how they see each other when they′re both so busy, Sunny answered, "It′s a messenger love, messenger dating."

With Nana asking if the love grows through that kind of relationship, Sunny said it doesnt. "That′s why we′ve never got sincere. I′ve never dated someone for over a year."

Tagging on that note, Nana shared, "When I date someone, I don′t date easily and I don′t break up easily." She added that her longest relationship lasted two years.

"If I count all the people that I′ve met since high school, I can count them on one hand."

But when Nana was asked if she ever dated a celebrity, she only smiled with no answer.

On the January 27 broadcast of “Roommate,” cameras will be showing the cast members opening up a ‘dog party’ at the share house.

It is said that After School’s Nana introduced her very own Boston Terrier named Go-moo (Rubber), while KARA’s Youngji brought her Bedlington Terriers named Leon and Yeol-mae (Fruit), to introduce to the rest of the cast.

Including the house pet, Oh-Ee (Cucumber), the “Roommate” home became a playground for a total of four dogs. At the time of filming, Cucumber was unable to hide her excitement and ran around the house after meeting her new friends.

It is said that Nana and Youngji held a talent show for their dogs to see whose pet could complete more tricks.

viewer ratings.

the "scandal" isn't even legit, IMO. the timing of it feels too much like HJH's old agency was trying to get at him for leaving (he was their only star). and because there's no evidence (dispath woulda dropped something by now if it were true) and the drama is dying down i guess the PDs wanted in on the action so they're stirring up unnecessary drama.

I know JYPE paid their artistes by the yearly quarter. I don't think it's weird considering the amount is probably inconsistent, depending on the activities they have done.

Where I live minimum pay is obligatory that's why it seems really weird to me but idk for artists

Anyway, there's no such thing as minimum wage when you're in the line front line of show biz.

A singer mentioned about getting paid on a programme a long time ago and the mc briefly explained that celebrities get paid quarterly. It's easier for companies to include it as part of the accounts done for quarterly reports since their income is inconsistent. Something like that. It was a long time ago so I can't remember exactly.

The dating convo btw Gukjoo, Nana, and Sunny was refreshing. Kcelebs are very cautious about revealing their dating history (for good reason) so it was nice to see people being so open about it.

The episode with Gukjoo's friends was not funny for me. Their jokes were really repetitive and seriously, asking Joon to decide which one looked less fat?? The 2nd part was better with roommates sharing their feelings and experience.

Concerning the episode with Shoo I really enjoyed it. The twins were so cute! Poor beard ahjussi...
But damn Shoo was so cheerfull when she danced. Sunny and Nana looked older than her lol

shoo's family is like...a GIFT. she's gorgeous and full of life, her husband is so sweet and supportive, her children r BEAUTIFUL---like...WOW. i smiled a lot through this episode because they're so genuinely happy together and it shows.

when did this show become a "guest per week" type deal? i miss when they'd go on adventures just as roommates.

YOUNGJI! I MISS U! i really felt her absence! T___T also, dong wook and kang joon but most of all youngji.

seho needs to stop asking questions and like interviewing. sometimes it's ok but other times it feels like he's the MC and it's annoying. useful, most like, but since i dont like him it's annoying.

this show is like fuck it with continuity, lol. like we dont kno they brought back the clip of the girls talking about dating to tie in to the wack ass HJH x nana "scandal". which is funny because the dude she's describing and HJH's personality is like night and day. sunny is awesome tho---i love how blunt she is. that was a GREAT conversation---they def shoulda aired it sooner. i'm mad the dudes came and broke it up with food! damn u!

dong wook should never have light colored hair. it ages him up a decade i swear. he looks younger with darker hair to me.

that language/spelling/proverbs segment was REALLY interesting. all those proverbs were really great and clever! i love how they ended up writing "erect penis" on accident, ROFL!

MINWOO IS BACK?! AND SPEAKING?! TO WHAT DO WE OWE THE HONOR?!

the dog show was HELLA CUTE omg! rubber is so obedient! and then we have youngji's dogs who refuse to listen, lol.

I was gleeful (and vindicated) when that grandpa actor chided Seho for asking too many questions. Conversations should flow but he was prattling on by himself.

argh seho is so fucking annoying. the more i see him, the more he annoys me. yes ask a guy on tv who is making him more happy, his wife or sunny. dumbass. argh hes so insufferable

That's a very comedian in S.Korea question tho. Your job is mostly to embarrass and fluster people for laughs, you could probably take any male comedian in that situation and get a similar question.

But I agree Seho a lot of time is fucking annoying.

the twins were cute (poor ryohei~ ^^;;) but taking up two episodes, and cutting the Nana-Gukjoo-Sunny convo like that.. the editors/producer should try harder. it messed up the flow.

and would someone please enlighten me on taec's visit to help jackson with breakfast? is it airing, at all? the news was out ages ago but i haven't seen it on the show nor preview.. or did i miss it while skip-watching? XD

They have a stock of recorded footage as they record every week from Saturday to Tuesday IIRC. News for example about GOT7 appearing on the show was out a month before they aired the episode. They release the news day of recording to encourage people to tune in every week, but you're probably like two weeks away from the breakfast episode honestly.

Sunny and Jackson also went with Joonhyung and G.O.D to G.O.D's old dorm that same weekend and that hasn't aired yet.

i thought the editing for S2 was better than S1, but seems like they just have good footages from the current line-up. in the beginning at least. XD

i usually give two weeks after the news was out to see the cut/footage, as it is how it normally works. that's why i was wondering about the breakfast episode since it has been more than that. ^^;

oh, yeah.. the visit to g.o.d's old dorm. i guess it's safe to assume we won't see that for another one month. haha.

They used to be about that good, but they got behind when they had some weeks with no episode being aired but they were still filming. When Jackson returned from his year end vacation they filmed the G.O.D dorm episode and the Taecyeon thing, so we're already like three weeks removed from that point.

I also wonder if they were worried about SM getting upset about airing the episode where Sunny came out and admitted she was dating. Previous to this episode, Sunny always acted like she hadn't dated, or she'd refuse to give a real true answer and the fans had the belief that she hadn't dated so maybe. I dunno though /shrug! Curious things! :)
