Will anyone be significantly affected by the broadcasters' decision to stop streaming shows to Korean viewers? Is anyone currently region-blocked from these videos? If a lot of you are affected, I'll switch to unofficial uploaders for your convenience. As always, I'm open to all concerns or suggestions.

I'm confused about that situation, OP. Are they saying they won't be putting up shows for non-korean viewers or not putting up shows for korean viewers? O keep seeing conflicting things. I wonder if there is any translated info regarding this.

It's important to note that it only affects streaming on Youtube. From what I've read, they'll still be uploading as usual but the videos will be blocked for SK IPs. International viewers will be unaffected by the changes. This will force SK viewers to watch the shows/clips on television or on SK sites (e.g. Naver). It's probably a move to increase revenue for the broadcasters.

Just a tip for anyone using Chrome, if the video is blocked in your country try ProxFlow extension. It works really well for me. Hope this helps.

Ah well then I'd assume ProxFlow depends only on US proxy since that would make sense if it won't work if the video is blocked in the US at the first place :/
Another proxy extension I know is Hola Better Internet, in which you can choose the country but it doesn't work really well for me. Probably it's just my flop internet connection or idk lol.

While Music Bank's emphasis of physical sales with usually help SM artists and boygroups with large fanbases, Inkigayo's focus on MV views/digital will tend to help YG artists and female idols/groups - it doesn't mean the program itself is biased or rigging things for YG artists as some K-netizens keep alleging.

VIXX's fans sound very young. And with the concepts they have, all fantastical and supernatural I could see them being quite passionate too. With VIXX gaining momentum with every comeback they have i wonder if their fandom (Starlights, right?) will be the next trouble-makers in kpop.

Actually no.... Vixx fandom tends to go to the older side. The official fanclub statistics showed only 1/4 of the official fandom are in their teens, another 1/4 in their 20s. The rest half is equally dispersed among 30s,40s,50s and 60s.

Based on fanaccs, this seems to expand beyond the official fandom. There have been numerous mentions as to how compared to exo and other current groups, vixx doesn't get talked about a lot in schools. And there's no "word of mouth" going on since older kpop fans don't really talk about it at work either.

In one of the pre-recordings for error ero, people had to show up super early. Hongbin and Hyuk told them to all go to school after, everyone responded "we're going to work!"

Not saying they can't be troublemakers though. Just that... Vixx fandom isn't a fandom saturated with youngins.

I stand corrected. I don't know that much about them, it's just a thought that occurred to me listening to the fanchants in the video.

Hm, maybe it's a cultural thing like maybe in Western cultures (which I'm a part of) stanning the squeaky-clean boyfriend boy band type would be considered lame and outward expressions of teenage angst are more acceptable. I really would have thought their vampire concepts would have been appealing to the young ones.

And well yes, adults can be stupid too. But I do recall shaking my head at some of the stunts the EXO and Bana fandoms pulled in the early days of success and thinking that they just must be so young...
