Makes me loves and respect him even more. For him to sang and compose beautiful musics even with this conditions makes him an amazing person.

After knowing this, I notice Yoon always assist him during interview/show for example in Sketchbook. In Weekly Idol he's actually lip reading. I wonder if this condition was the reason for him to look bored and uncooperative during talk shows/interview especially if he was standing/seated away from the MC

I found out about this while they were promoting when I noticed that he doesn't wear a monitor in his left ear (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rU9xIZXtw20) when they perform. It's awesome that though it's difficult, he hasn't let it hold him back at all.

I think he either wears both or only on his right. He's also seen to take off his monitor in the middle of performances. One thing that is telling is that he often only uses his own set of headphones (his private ones) when going on radio shows

I'm pretty sure he took out a kidney. That might be okay for normal people, but with the schedules, diets, and just overall unhealthy environment of kpop that's probably really hard to live without.

If I remember correctly from interviews and stuff the members still fuss over him even though he says he's fine. WM has a good record of not overworking their idols (their CEO seems like a nice guy too which is rare). I hate it when idols are deemed as professional when working under terrible circumstances (illness, bad weather etc) but I do find it admirable that he's really dedicated to being an idol.

I was so proud of him not only giving up U-kiss but also acting/future solo career. No one was surprised about him leaving the group but everyone was shocked that he choose to leave the industry (which is ridiculous because by the end of his career he was the go-to example for bad idol acting).

I really respect that kid. I hope he's doing okay. Kiss Mes seem like the type to back-off when oppa says "stop"...

I'm relieved that this info is only out now. I wouldn't know how to deal with people saying that he was using this as a way to gain the audience during WIN for example.

I'm also hearing imparied with both ears and using cochlear implant. im able to talk and listen orally with no sign language. i enjoy listen music and sing along too. i also tired to compose a song in garageband software. you see, anyone or even any disability persons can do anything if they work hard. :) nothing is impossible right? im impressed for Taehyun's hardwork!

I just hope he protects the hearing of his right ear very well 'cause as an idol star he's often in situations that involve loud music and screaming fans, so that he'll be able to continue composing and singing well (My dad is also deaf in one ear since childhood, but he has also later lost lots of his hearing from his other ear 'cause working in loud noise as 20-something without properly protecting his hearing making his life a lot harder after that, and even harder after getting tinnitus into his only hearing ear.)

I'm just proud that he never uses this disability to gain pity from ppl and only reveal this personally at the end of a magazine interview. He's mad talented for producing But, Tonight, Confession and all those wonderful tracks in his soundcloud and no one can say otherwise.

Also I hope he takes great care of his other ear too bc having an idol as a career with a hearing impairment have risk of being expose to loud music and such.
