Mix and Match to End with Episode 7 and Episode 6 Teaser

The survival program Mix & Match, which will be choosing the members of YG’s new
boy group iKON, will be launching its final match.

On October 14, YG announced, “The final match of Mix & Match, which will ‘mix’
the talent, charms and individuality of the team B members and three trainees in
order to ‘match’ them into the best combination to debut as a new boy group
iKON, will be taking place on October 22 at 8 p.m. (KST) in Korea University,
Anam-dong, Seoul.”

YG released a poster announcing the schedule for the final match on October 14
through its official blog.

As Mix & Match is a hot issue in and out of Korea, gathering over 40,000 and
60,000 voters in Osaka and Beijing on October 5 and 11, respectively, the final
match to finalize the iKON members is expected to gather interest from around
the globe.

The nine members, who showed their talents and charms through ‘Free Match,’
which was equivalent to the mock test of the final match, and ‘Collaboration
Match’ working with YG’s female vocalists, will be presenting their last round
of competition through the final match.

It has also been reported that YG family members, including Big Bang and 2NE1,
will also be attending the final match.

The viewers who want to attend the final match can apply through G market’s
mobile app from October 14 through 19. The attending audience members can vote
once the nine trainees’ last match is over and the results will be included in
the final results.

Meanwhile, Mix & Match airs every Thursday at 11 p.m. through Mnet and portal
site Naver’s TV Cast. It can be replayed through Naver TV Cast and YG’s official
blog and the final match airing on October 22 will also be revealed through
broadcast.

Mix and Match's final episode will be on October 22nd. Also known as Hanbin's birthday. Happy Birthday Leader. Happy B.I. Day. Then they get to hurry and prepare for Big Bang's Dome tour in November.

I've seen some people VERY upset...I have been laughing at YG being obvious. They need time to prepare to open for Big Bang's Dome tour starting in November.

So it'll be OT6+1, just like many of us here said before the show started. It was never going to be fair for the 3 new trainees. I feel bad for them but oh well, what can we do...
I would like Hongseok but a lot of the fandom hates him lol and I can't be too sure if he's really a good fit. :|

For superficial reasons, it'd be nice to have Donghyuk dropped and add Jinhyeong and Hongseok. :3

i don't really see why everyone likes chanwoo.. he's cute and all but idk if his voice brings anything to the group.
I feel bad for hongseok and i do like his voice but no one seems to like him in the group so that would just be awkward if he made it.

fml all them tears. I really hope it's OT6 + Jinhyung, he seems like the best dancer and he has a decent voice. I think he's at least a better dancer than Hongseok and a better singer than Chanwoo.

Chanwoo is too puppy-like for me. He better take this exposure and do some more acting. Hongseok better go somewhere less hip-hop.

lol well. this obviously reiterates how much of a promo show this is for ot6 and the only reason why yg is adding another person is to justify the reason for filming. to me, after watching WIN, i thought m&m was a good chance for team B's weaknesses to be addressed but i guess that's too much to ask for.

I don't doubt that ikon will be successful no matter what, but imo they could have a much better line up if people weren't so ot6 biased. i understand investment and attachment and that's why i think it was a really bad idea to even do a survival show for trainees that had a headstart on fan bonding because these things can start to blind you. if we look at almost every other idol group, there has been accounts of trainees being dropped and selected months before debut and it's been fine so i don't really care that a trainee has been "shedding blood and tears" for 2 years, if he's not up to scratch, then i rather another takes his place. imo "hongseok fans" aren't shitting on ot6/hanbin for the sake of him per say, they're just using him as an example of why certain things need to be addressed /cough vocals cough/

just as a side note, i don't understand why people keep using the boys are not getting on well with hongseok excuse. hanbin even said something along the lines of everything he does is cool/good, plus he's been spotted with bobby lit latched on to him in beijing. junhwe and jinhwan even apologized to him. people are just falling for the ~evil kid/crappy work ethic~ narrative that mnet is playing up and whether he wins or loses i'll be mad if he doesn't get a redemption/underdog arc tbh because all this negative editing is going to follow him if he stays in the ent industry.

The editing with anything regarding hongseok is pretty bad. I actually felt/feel really bad for him instead of hating him? Idk what he's done apart from being given a chance to be a part of a group. I haven't really kept up with ikon outside of the show but it makes me smile that the boys do like him ... This show makes it seem like they don't lol
But I do agree he needs some sort of redemption arc because I feel like this show is just setting him up to fall flat on his face ... With more practice and time he would be a big help to Ikons vocal line which was team B's biggest weakness imo

Chanwoo and Hongseok, please. Donghyuk is still the boring character from his WIN days, and Hongseok sounds marginally better. Plus all those testimonies from former schoolmates on Hongseok being a good guy makes him look good. Chanwoo already gets along with most of the group and is like an eager to please puppydog. NO x infinity to iljin Jinhyeong who snapped bras and flipped skirts. I have no tolerance for sexual harassment.

i know it's not gonna happen but it's either ot5+jin+hong or nothing for me. if it's (worst scenario) ot6+chanwoo i'll just wait for that double b subunit.

first of all i'm so fucking sick of this show it's the worst show i've ever seen. i thought it'd would be about you know people actually competing not about three confirmed members. it's so unfair to new trainees who other than chanwoo (who is by the way the worst what the fuck are you thinking yg) had zero screentime.

i liked donghyuk in win but he has no place in this team - he's not a visual, has the same tone as jinhwan and zero stage presence (everybody outshined him). hong and new jin are more interesting for me, have better voice/tone and looks. win/win.

this group can be really really good so it makes me so angry that people will settle for mediocre just to keep their precious ot6 together. i don't think i can be in a fandom like this

i don't understand...wow it really is already ending ???
the final match is going to be on the 22th... but will this be aired live ?? (i guess so, if not the results are gonna be leaked for sure)

as for me i'm hoping for team b to make it ofc. but i'm not too worried about them, i think they'll be ok they're gonna make it. (hoping i'm not jinxing anything. i'm still worried for donghyuk a bit)

now regarding the 3 new trainees. my first choice is the underdog Hongseok. i feel like it's an unpopular opinion to pick him, but i like him and i think it'd be the most... beneficial to count him as a new member. (i can't with He isn't ~YG style~ excuse =_=)
my 2nd choice would be Jinhyeong. he doesn't have the most powerful vocal but i like the sound and tone of his voice a lot, it sounds different from the rest of the boys.
last choice would be Chanwoo. don't get me wrong, he might actually be the sweetest of the 3. but the purpose of this show wasn't to pick/add another "nice" boy. he's not a bad singer or dancer. but he's just... alright... and okay, to me at least. he doesn't stand out enough. :(

if YG didn't want Team b to debut as 6, it was to "add" something team b was "lacking" in (or some will say "to remove"...) and i guess it was, a solid vocal (hongseok), or a different tone/sound of voice (jinhyeong). that's my point of view. now whatever the result we're gonna be butthurt anyway i can feel it.

I'm hoping for OT5+Jinhyeong+Chanwoo. I think that with more time (we know they're not going to debut until this time next year a la Winner) that they'll really improve and will quickly become better than Donghyuk. Plus although I and the members have warmed to Hongseok, he has too many anti-fans and I'm not sure if his dancing will ever reach the level of the rest of the members.
I doubt what I'm hoping for will happen with the way the programme has been edited to fit YG's agenda but you never know.
