FNC’s CEO Han Sung Ho explained the rumors regarding FT Island and CN Blue.
FNC Entertainment’s CEO Han Sung Ho brought up the rumors about discriminating between FT Island and CN Blue on JTBC’s In Bed with the Boss to be aired on October 3.
Bringing up evidence, CEO Han Sung Ho denied the rumors about him discriminating between the two groups in terms of their lodging and vehicles.
FT Island’s Lee Hong Gi and Seung Hyun and CN Blue’s Kang Min Hyuk and Lee Jong Hyun, who were also present on the spot, stated, “There was no discrimination.”
Seung Hyun then brought up the old lodgings he used to live in saying, “We found housing near the street market in Youngdeungpo and every time I went home after work, I was tearing up as I opened the door because of the onion and garlic smell.”
The show is set to air on October 3.
FT Island didn't get any pay in their first five years

On Cheong Damdong 111, Jung Yong Hwa said he ate the leftover pizza from FT Island and Lee Hong Ki said he left it for them. The company's director asked why he didn't buy a new one instead of giving the leftover.

Lee Hong Ki got pissed and said, "I could've bought it if the company gave me money!!"

Director got flustered and told him not to lie

Lee Hong Ki said, "I had no money in my wallet." "My first pay was five years after debut"

"What do you mean I'm lying? Do you want me to bring the details?"
=====
1. [+213, -2] What the hell ㅋㅋㅋ FT Island was so popular when I was in elementary school. They won #1 with Love Sick a lot of times and their songs were all daebak afterwards. They should've earned tons... How did they hold back themselves ㅋㅋㅋ It's freaking disgusting how the director smiles and tells him not to lie
2. [+200, -3] Look how straightforward Lee Hong Ki is. Makes me feel refreshed
3. [+195, -4] FT Island started buying stuff for their fans 4~5 years ago. So basically they started spending money for their fans as soon as they started getting paid ㅠㅠ They thanked their fans for staying. How much did they suffer ㅠㅠ
4. [+49, -1] People criticize Lee Hong Ki because he has no filter when he speaks but I think more celebrities need to be like him. It doesn't do any good to stay silent. The problems get known when they speak up and they need to be solved somehow. It's hard to say stuff like this on broadcast. He's cool
5. [+49, -0] Just like how Bigbang raised YG, FT Island raised FNC. The company got big because of those kids and yet they were unfairly treated. They're not even humans
6. [+37, -0] Lee Hong Ki's personalities are reckless and yet he managed to hold back until now...
7. [+34, -1] The reason why I like FT Island but hate the company is this. The problem is not just the money. They're also discriminated. Lee Hong Ki even said they were no different from experimental mice. They suffered all sorts of album accidents, digital sales accidents and opened concerts, but the director and Han Sung Ho CEO used all the money just to invest on the rookies. I want FT Island to leave the company but they had to renew their contracts because Seung Hyun's contract is still not done since he joined late. Hong Ki started getting his nails done after 5 years of debut. Their company in Cheong Damdong wouldn't have existed if it wasn't FT Island. I live nearby and every time I see the building, I get mad. Ugh
8. [+31, -1] What's wrong with the company? I think they're desperate to destroy FT Island. Is FT Island untalented or what? Lee Hong Ki is able to say this because it's past. Look how he says he can get the details of it when the bitch tells him not to lie. I guess this is not a joke, it's cruelty... I'm speechless and scared. He wasn't able to say this because it might've affected his celebrity career
9. [+28, -1] This is why TVXQ separated... Honestly I understand how the company feels since they need to invest so much money for rookies but they should pay living expenses at least... They could take the money back when the artists earn more afterwards... How will the singers live? Do they get allowance from their parents?

Date: 2014-10-03 02:37 pm (UTC)I've always wondered this. Why do companies have to take everything the group makes? Taking a cut out of each paycheck makes more sense. But tbh I still don't agree with taking back the amount you invest in a group. And kinda ot but I read that the reason Dahee blackmailed LBH was because she owed the company 300mil won. How did it get to that amount?!

Date: 2014-10-03 05:01 pm (UTC)But regarding FTI vs CNB, let's be real, they get fairly the same amount of activities (be it singles, japanese singles, japanese albums, tours, variety, dramas...). What changes I guess is how much exposure these activities get once they're out there, but FNC cannot go controlling what people buy or pay attention to.
Don't get me wrong, I think FTI deserves a lot more attention and recognition, but all these CNB>>FTI favouritism stories are too much.

Date: 2014-10-03 11:23 pm (UTC)I do see why people mention favouritism, especially those that don't follow both very close since 'exposure' would be their main criterion to judge. I would argue that in terms of exposure, yes, CNB has more. Probably it is a snowball thing. More exposure -> More popularity -> More invites for shows -: More exposure -> More popularity etc.
I also see why some fans would be upset about hindering FTI from using a self-composed title track for a korean comeback (although fingers crossed it seems this time around it might really happen).
I just don't agree how people generalise this 'favouritism'. Because like I posted above, it seems pretty clear that in terms of what matters most, that is, the amount of activities (Japan, Korea, single albums, full albums, tours, varieties, digital singles, collabs, etc) they get the same type of treatment. In Japan, FTI is doing really well. Korea not so well but their 'Severely' was a big hit two years ago, so it's not like they are dead and gone for years on end.
It might seem that I'm just writing because this concerns 'my fave', but it's also because I feel like I've followed both enough throughout the years to want to have a say on it, more than the 'I don't follow them but clearly this is true'.
(sorry for the testament -.-)

Date: 2014-10-03 11:15 pm (UTC)I liked FTI's early music and their Japanese stuff is off the hook but mostly because I think Hong Ki has an amazing voice and really gives them a unique vibe to their music. Overall I like CN Blue's music a little better because its more my style.

Date: 2014-10-04 12:17 am (UTC)i'm a fan of both but i have to admit that ft island has lost their popularity in korea and the reason is not solely because of FNC's terrible management and promotions.
fans just gradually leave the group and the only relevant member is hongki who has legion of fans behind him
