In order to show a more unique performance, the three-member girl group Orange Caramel partnered up with the worldwide animation studio, DreamWorks.

Recently, the group released their fourth single, “My Copycat,” and has resumed their activities. Currently, the girls are preparing a performance that contains animated and game-like elements. They have included elements from “Where’s Waldo?” and “Spot the Difference.”

The group’s agency, Pledis Entertainment, informed that in order to use the “Where’s Waldo?” brand, they contacted Dreamworks. “Where’s Waldo?” is one of the classic character that belongs to Dreamworks and they have signed the agreement for it.

According to Pledis Entertainment, they said, “Since Orange Caramel is becoming popular, not only in Korea, but worldwide, we decided to do an official collaboration for their global promotion and to be an example of obtaining copyright.”

Orange Caramel released “My Copycat” on August 18 and will have their first performance on August 22 on KBS2’s “Music Bank.”

I'm glad they went through proper channels for this. And Pledis' art director for OC needs a raise

a kpop company who actually asked permission to use another person's creation? its a miracle.

Good. I don't want OC to be involved in any scandals.

when dreamworks makes that live action where's waldo film (and you know they will), they should get orange caramel to sing their ost. or get them to star in it.

It's strangely worded, as if Dreamworks sought them out to use their intellectual property, as opposed to Pledis doing what everyone is supposed to do - compensating the copyright owners for using their work.

While it's good they sought permission am I reading that if this was Korea only they wouldn't...dude you should respect the creators rights no matter where you're promoting

It's to the point they are releasing articles and being commended for doing what they are supposed to do anyway because blatant use of trademarked products is that rampant...that's some mentality

Is it just me or does the front of Raina's skirt look like the ass end of a par of jeans? Or is it supposed to look that way?

From: [identity profile] maishi-obuki.livejournal.com
they are.

all the jean dresses they are wearing are made from re-purposed blue jean pants.

I get the re-purposed jeans part, it's the part where the front Raina's skirt looks the the back that I'm confused about.

it's an optical illusion.
Since they used the used the back of those old jeans to make the front of the skirt, the original back details like the pockets and the sowing lines/seams make them look like a back. BUT those lines lost their original form once the sides were cut open remade for a skirt from. They just appear like a back, but it does not actually affect the shape of the skirt.
