Tablo and Giriboy are adorable. And I laughed so much at the Illi boys, I can't understand why I still like them so much despite the messiness and excessive second hand embarrassment.

Even tho I already knew which teams doubleB boys were gonna be on, I still couldn't stop myself from smh at Bobby picking Illi. Hope this shit goes well.

Giriblo could've been everything and more, man. Giri a true player; stringing blo along then dropping his arse like a hot cake once he had him putty :((((( wu's surreptitious side-eyes had me chuckling tho. He was NOT here for blo's inner 14 year old fangirl.
All those contestants that picked team YG... i agree w Swings (the thirst for that quick ticket to relevancy was hella transparent) but i can't knock the hustle. Life ain't cheap.

YDG simultaneously frustrates me and gives me life. Man's such a fucking oddball. I'm anticipating the big brother relationship between iron and him. A lot of genuine respect there, which is cool.

I'm pleasantly surprised bobby picked this particular team. I'm glad he decided to challenge the misconceptions others have about his industry background and prove his mettle. Good on the boy and much respect.

Team Swan E bagged the top card in the deck, should be a fruitful relationship. I don't get all this negative talk about farmboy tho. He's got a lot of spunk and I dig that he didn't just let his opponent belittle him in the 1:1 battle prep for the sake maintaining some fake grateful/polite country boy facade. Individuality is one of hip-hop's key aspects anyway and, technically, it was a battle. I think he'll be able to take criticism from cats he actually respects.

I enjoyed all the judges' performance; there was a refreshing amount of variety. However, my absolute fave was team Swan E! Swings was solid but San E stole the show for me. His energy was off the charts and those bars were straight fire (wordplay was too ill)!

Same, Dok2 has an unexpected cute personality as well. Actually when Tablo mentioned how he felt like it was such a short time ago that a little Dok2 was C-walking, it reminded of a time I used to actually not mind Dok2 before illi.

I kind of love Dok2 & The Q on the show, even though I think they both can put out better music, they're such funny guys. I loved when Dok2 was talking about how he saw hearts in the contestants eyes and they the hearts fell on stage. It's only something he would say, lmao. I'm with you.

ydg's acting skills are on point - it's nearly impossible for me to tell whether he's being serious or just fucking around for the sake of it. he's mad funny tho and i do think he's a great foil for ~~swings~~ the other judges.

dok2 and q are try-hards who don't seem take themselves too seriously, which is quite ironic, to say the least, but a nice change of pace too. hopefully, zino will make a guest appearance sometime later, i think the three of them would be comedy gold ~~and i'm thirsty as fuck~~

Or I don't know they wanted to learn from two of the best rappers on that panel. Swings and San E were being bitter af. Plus how will being on that team give them more relevance than being on any other team. They won't get signed to YGE. they won't be featured on any YGE artist's shit, like how will that give them relevance? The only thing that they can gain from being on that team is having Tablo and Wu as mentors. Two guys who have talent, are real rappers to the core, and know how to spot and nurture talent.

obv blo and wu indisputably have a wealth of hip-hop experience between the two of them and i won't deny that swings and san e were bitter - hip-hop's an intensely competitive genre at its core and every mc expects their self-belief to translate into others recognising that they indeed ARE the best; feelings get hurt sometimes. however, it is also a fact that that yg cosign can do wonders for a rapper on the come-up who's hoping to acquire some legit mainstream success. for all the street cred on that judging panel, few could conclusively say they've made waves in terms of public recognition. granted, hip-hop isn't usually the gp's cup of tea but even ydg, san e and swings flat out admitted to not having hits, which make for great keys in unlocking that doorway to marketabililty and, eventually, monetary success. the underground hustle certainly ain't for everyone and, sometimes, even talented rappers need that big-break cause a lot of them still have bills to pay, people to support etc. and it sure as hell feels great to gain some tangible success off your passion.

But this is show is not built like Kpop star where the winner or the finalists or hell anyone who auditioned might get signed into the respective agency to which a certain judge from the panel belongs to. YG and YGE have nothing to do with this other than the fact that Blo and Wu are judges and doubleB auditioned for the show. BloxWu are from and represent YGE but they're not there to scout people, they're there to judge plain and simple. It's not like one of the kids on BloxWu team (other than Hanbin) will have more benefit (than other contestants on other teams) in the sense of exposure for being on that team.

B.I. be like YG 4 LYFE, live and die for his company. But it's interesting how him and bobby are taking two different approaches at settling the whole "idol image".

I was rooting for Giriblo because they remind me of each other so much, it would of been such a wonderful pairing. Honestly, I'm more surprised that Giriboy chose YDG, I would of been fine with any other team except for YDG. Someone please explain to me why YDG is so popular though, he raps just about as good as me. I'm even more confused by this stage presence that everyone else seems to see. Tablo being so hurt was giving me life though.

I really just don't like Swings, but him and San E are such a good pairing.
Next episode looks fun.

I surprised so many people picked Tablo/Wu. They do both command the stage while doing very little, so I can see why people would want to try and emulate and learn from them. Plus with both of them you get the best of both worlds if you want to do more conscious rap while also still making bangerz. Lol, San E and Swings were so salty about it, though. "A gateway into the entertainment industry?" Lol, ya'll are all in the entertainment industry, silly. They're so funny, though.

I think I would have picked Jolly V over Yook Ji dam. I am unsure of her after her audition "cover"--I like the rest of the team, though. I do think B.I should have picked Swings/San E because I find them super similar--punny and show-boat-y! But, maybe on YG he'll learn to be more of a team player because he does tend to take the spotlight at times--not really necessary or wanted if he wants to be in a group. I knew Bobby was going to pick Illionaire and I'm honestly really happy he did. They suit him really well and I always felt that way. Not sure what he will learn from them but I'm excited to see--hopefully they reign in on his swearing and get him to tone it down--work on the lyrics cuz it's not like he'll be using all those cuss words back at YG ent.

Do I smell some dislike between Vasco and Janggoon? They seemed less than pleased with each other's presence. I also wanted CJamm to go to Illi >__> I am just a bit against people that already work in the same company being on the same team? Not because it's bad but because...I just think switching it up might be good for people. Though, I knew Vasco was gonna pick Swings/San E--he really, really likes Swings.

Can't wait to see more about Toy and Chamain is so adorable, lmao. YDG team looks like it will be fun. Excited to see more from Iron and am wondering what Giriboy will take from all of this--I can just imagine his clever lyricism with that sort of laid back cool that team seems to have (I'm ignoring Sangsoo now 4ever, lol). He does seem to not know what to do with himself on stage (but I think that's why him and Tablo would have been so cool--do a lot with a little GB!).

ia. i've cooled off on jidam over the last few episodes. her auditioning w unoriginal material had me side-eyeing but i let it go cause her performance in the next round was solid. rudely cutting off her competitor in the 1:1 battle was kind of wack to me. it wasn't like she wasn't given the time to spit; she should've returned the courtesy and calmy accepted her L. not to mention, that "mentorship" seems a little off to me too, it thought it was a bit dodgy that he was literally altering lyrics rather than just giving some sound advice and letting HER figure out how she wanted to craft and execute her rap content. personal, organic growth is essential to the formation of a great mc and im not sure how she's supposed to achieve that and come into her own if man's practically ghostwriting for her.

i also think b.i should've joined san e/swings for the same reason you mentioned cjamm should've joined illi. being in a different would've forced him to adapt and flex creatively, which i think would've been great in helping him become a better mc. like tablo said, he could always ask for a word w him at yg hq if he was desperate for some help.
bobby knows how to ride a beat but his lyricism is lacking and the over-excessive cussing only highlights that. while i think illi suits him stylistically, i'm a bit concerned that his flaws might not get the attention they need w the artistic direction the crew's adopted recently (need we mention the q again!)

Agree -- especially on the Olltii bit. I just don't think people are used to dissing in hip-hop anymore. It's so rare now, even in the US. People think it's petty but it's just a part of the culture and it's nothing personal (sometimes, lmao). It's a constant battle and your weakest link is always gonna be the target. You can't be an MC if you don't have a thick skin, so I think it's good for Bobby and for B.I., too.

seems people forgot that hip-hop is insanely competitive by nature, and battle rap's a manifestation of that fact. mc's shouldn't be allowed to get too comfortable because that's when they start slacking. it's a damn shame battle rap isn't as as common as it used to be but then again, i guess w the amount of fronting rappers engage in these days they're bound to get clowned! the rivalries between the og's back in the 90s were l e g e n d a r y. shit got so personal and downright nasty - i loved it!
