Lee Hongki to lead SBS new drama 'Modern Farmer'

FT Island Lee Hongki has decided to appear as the male lead in the upcoming SBS weekend drama 'Modern Farmer' after a thorough consideration.

He is taking the role of 'Lee Min Ki', the leader, vocalist, and guitarist of a rock band 'Ex-So' (Excellent Souls). His character is romantic and pure when it comes to love but tough in their band. Actor Park Min Woo is also cast and will form a love triangle with Lee Hong Ki.

Directed by Oh Jin Suk, 'Modern Farmer' is a musical-comedy teen drama with a unique plot of rock band members going back to being farmers. It will premiere on October 18 following 'Glorious Day'.

Anyways, glad to see Minwoo get more work!

FTISLAND’s Lee Hong Ki Reunites with “We Got Married” Wife Fujii Mina

FTISLAND’s Lee Hong Ki showed that he’s still close with his ‘marriage’ partner, Fujii Mina, from their time on MBC Every1’s “We Got Married Global Edition.”

On June 5, the singer posted a short message on his personal Instagram account, “I met my wife after a long time,” attached with a picture of the former virtual couple together.

In the revealed photo, Hong Ki and Fujii Mina can be seen posing closely for a friendly snapshot. They are drawing attention for their continuing friendship even after wrapping up “We Got Married Global Edition.”

I was surprised he took another weekend drama but look forward to it.

I'm there for Hongki and Minwoo but...the writer did Fashion King and What Happened in Bali so I'm...a bit wary.

When that IG post went up I remember thinking, "As expected."

The drama gonna be a mess since both Fashion king & WHIB are such a mess. I only enjoyed WHIB because of So Ji Sub. Both Jo In Sung & Ha Ji Won characters annoyed me soo much. >.>

I'm surprised as well because I can remember a recent interview where he said he wanted to take a break on dramas. But maybe FNC persuaded him , since this IS a lead role on one of the three major networks.

Anyways, I'm looking forward for it and also hoping for some F.T.Island or C.N.Blue cameos :D

And yep, I'm also worried because of the screenwriter. The PD is great, but the writer....

The writers are definitely trolling, they could have named the character Lee Heun Ki and the band S.T. Island. Lee Minwoo getting more work is good. I'm watching Roommates and I always feel a bit sorry for him.

Yep, I think it's cute too. At the end of WGM when they said goodbye, I thought the two seemed very sincere, so them still being in touch is great. Proves that WGM can lead to relationships, eventhough this is not a romantic one.

i'm sure Hongki, Minwoo and everyone else in this drama will do great. hopefully they will succeed in this drama. don't underestimate them just because the name for the fictional band in this drama maybe controversial to some. as a fan of Hongki, i believe he can carry this drama and act his arse out for this drama.
