I really like 4 things show. They weren't afraid to shove hate comments to Rapmon and ask his opinion. The hidden camera was so freaking intense...I can't. And damn, Rapmon's getting more and more handsome.
Have you guys seen No More Dream PV? THEYGOTWETOMG.
That show made me really appreciate their placement at bighit. It's so apparent that Bang PDnim is really trying to nurture and push them to be better artists. He's trying make sure they don't get stagnant in their development.
His underground friends were really honest but they didn't seem cruel.
I still can't get over the awkward Japanese. Ugh, I think rap songs should just stay in their original language. But wet bangtan sort of compensated it.
YO WE SHOULD ALL BE THANKFUL FOR RAPMON TBQH! BANGTAN WAS BUILT AROUND HIM AND WE GOT SUCH A PERFECT GROUP! STANNING FOR LIFE!
I can't believe he regrets "Too Much" bc that song makes me tear up every time, you can hear the pain in his voice. it's one of my faves but "Unpack Your Bags" is flawfree i mean: "i'll achieve my dream of gaining fame from my rapping and then that dream will become someone else's dream again" fucking beautiful damn Who knows, in the future young kids will say they started rapping because he inspired them too. most of BTS got inspired by epik high and GD even though he's an idol and i think these kids will inspire a lot of ppl too.
I like that he embraces idol life and being a rapper "on living two lives while others only live once i live twice"
I like how honest the show was and it was funny to see rapmon's friends teasing him. wow @ how quickly he chose bangtan over solo... I feel he would like to do different material too but bangtan must mean a lot to him
wow @ how quickly he chose bangtan over solo He didn't even hesitate or pause. It was so telling of how he really feels.
He is getting more handsome. It was funny how his friends were like "your hair is pretty but you're close to the bottom of the bts visual ranking also V is really handsome" (paraphrasing).
Tbh when I first saw him I wasn't attracted. But after further research i realized he's actually talented and hardworking, has a passion and a goal. So happy bang pd followed his instincts. Life would be different without bangtan.
China Job YinYueTai documentary did not have to spend so long pointing out that Kookie was not wearing anything under his robe. He is under-aged! I can't be looking at shit.
I really like this group. They've got some substance to them, even if some of their material is a bit childish.
I like that RapMon gets attention for his contributions to the group, but I'd really like to see what the other guys are working on, too. I think Suga is a pretty capable guy--why isn't he getting his own TV special?
That prank video was cruel, but interesting. I was amused to see Jin was having the same train of thought as me. Bang PD had to be 100% sure Rapmon would choose BTS, because it would've been dangerous if he chose otherwise. It was very interesting to see Rapmon's unguarded face though.
I also appreciated the look into Rapmon's life, but I wondered why Suga wasn't included. He also did underground, and he produces songs. Is he not as well connected as Rapmon? I understand not doing the others, though Hobi would've been nice too. Just, why not Suga?
So I loved all of these videos, though I'm surprised no one mentioned the radio clip. I cringed when K.Will brought up Rapmon's specialty at doing "Black English". I was pleasantly surprised however, that Rapmon attempted to clarify what he was doing. It seems the fans reached him, because he did correct himself. He's not at a point where he knows how to word it well, but this is still an improvement. I wrote the transcript from that section below. (It's at about 5 minutes and 20 seconds into the video)
RM: Rather than saying it's a specialty, it's because I watch alot of videos of rappers, and there's a large majority who are black, so my accent started to sound like a black person. Like when I speak english, it became a specialty that's not really a specialty.
KW: I see, then is there a difference between a black person speaking english and a white person speaking english?
RM: -laughs- no one ever asked me that before.
KW: Oh really?
RM: Rather than thinking there's a difference, the rappers- Rather than labeling it "Black English", there are alot of rappers who are black, and when they talk in English their speech is a little different. Like, they carry this groove when they talk.
KW: Oh then can you show us a bit in a very cool way?
I definitely side-eye K.Will for both the question and the later statement "That was black english. The type of English we would never speak."
I do however appreciate the question, because I think it may have driven home to Rapmon that the public may take "Black English" to mean black and white people speak differently. He's part of the 1-percenters, so I hope he does catch on, and figures out how to approach this more eloquently in the future.
smh at K.Will for bringing that up again but yay for Rapmon's answer though it still isn't /quite/ there... though I'm very glad it looks like he's learned and grown from the debut era radio incident.
Yeah K.Will was a mess here. And I agree, Rapmon isn't all the way there, but this is definite progress from that radio incident. I hope he continues to learn and improve. I also hope fans continue to reach out and teach him. I'm not sure how to do it myself, otherwise I would try too.
4 Things Show was the best thing that ever happened. Love how they got so many people to interview about Rapmon, and his reactions to everything really show how intelligent and intellectual he is. I hate hidden camera pranks and idk why Korea is so obsessed w/ them (and how are they supposed to make ppl laugh? They always make me cry!) but at least this one was eye opening? I was watching it right after the Kris EXO news stuff broke and just hearing Rapmon w/ no hesitation say he wanted to stick w/ Bangtan even w/ all the shit he goes through made my heart heart. Lol at Bang PD tho, fab upcoming actor!
His DNH chingus are so hilarious and wow at this FIRST MIXTAPE news!!! I'm so excited for that!
Now that I have watched the 4 things show I can't tell if his "friends from his mixtape days are actually being assholes or not because sometimes Koreans are so damn honest I would be bothered by the shit they say.
That one dude in the dope hat needs to stfu though his jealousy is showing. (the previous BTS trainee. jealoussyyyyyy) and seriously...calling him ugly...dude. Are we looking at the same person? DO NOT regret too much though Rapmon. That song is amazing.
WHY are Rapmonster's hands so beat up though? What is he punching in his spare time?
lmao the person you're referring to, i11evn, is the most reputable rapper in his whole crew and a well established figure in the khh sphere, i doubt he has anything to be jealous about. he left voluntarily because of the direction bangtan was taking (he joined a little while after namjoon when bangtan was advertised as a group of rappers rather than an idol group), and tbh he's just being blunt about the compromises namjoon has to make, just like the rest of dnh tends to be. last time when people were hating on namjoon on hiphopplaya he stepped up to defend namjoon's rapping skills and stated that namjoon would considered family/part of the crew no matter what he does.
even if dnh look rude/hostile at first glance they are all quite close and proud of each other. all of them also tend to make fun of namjoon and how tryhard he acts sometimes, so i think it's just friendly teasing among close friends rather than actual spite.
