YG Entertainment’s new boy group, WINNER, will be participating in 2NE1’s world tour concert as special guests.

On March 1 and 2, WINNER will be taking the stage at 2NE1’s “AON (All or Nothing)” concert as special guests at the Seoul Olympic Park SK Olympic Handball Arena.

Previously, the members of WINNER put on the opening act for Big Bang’s six-dome tour in Japan, which lasted from last November to this January. They drew much interest from Japanese fans.

WINNER gained another opportunity to showcase their talent before their official debut as 2NE1’s special guests through their Mnet reality show, “WINNER TV.

WINNER TV,” consisting a total of 10 episodes, will come to an end on February 14. In the final episode, the members of 2NE1 visit the boys at their home. The members of WINNER express how they want to be guests at the concert, and the members of 2NE1 willingly agree.

Meanwhile, 2NE1’s second world tour, “AON,” will kick off on March 1 and 2 in Seoul making stops in 13 cities in nine counties with a total of 17 shows.

I'm just shocked there is still a person here who thought they would actually debut in February. LOL In any case, for a new group, a debut in late February would be suicide 'cause SNSD will be taking over all the news and varieties with their comeback.

I thought it was already confirmed that they won't be debuting right after WINNER TV? It turned out to be for the best anyway, since SNSD and 2ne1's coming back in Feb.

I don't think they'll do poorly since I'm pretty sure their music isn't going to be like all the other boys out right now (that hip hop swag tho); what with 2Seung's prior popularity and a somewhat fresh take on kpop, and of course YG backing them, I think they'll do well.

But do I think they'll live up to the BIGBANG standard? I don't know but it's unlikely imo, at least for now.

man...i wish i have the faith but im pretty anxious. well i am like that irl XD. however i do believe that what sets them apart from the rest is the ability to produce their own song and music, and i think they also have a good live performance. not the mention they are good looking and have distinctive personalities. i just hope taehyun and jinwoo will become much more stable during live since ksy is already in the game. ksy live is so good imo. im not that worried with mino and hoonie though. i dunno... anyway Im dying waiting for their debut XD

how about no

I don't really get it why they would put them as guest performer, as guests are usually supposed to keep up the level of energy in the audience. Just put Winner as nugu opening act whose appearance won't affect flow of the concert and whom people can ignore if they are so inclined.

Sure they'll be better as opening acts but this can actually be a good thing for 2ne1 to make an entrance with more impact. They usually have guest performers though, to let the main artist get a breather. Also YG does this multiple times before , like how GDYB performed as guests in Se7en's concert, 2ne1 in BigBang's etc etc

Well, that's good but please let them stand on their own feet soon, too. (It's not like them guesting at 2ne1's concert and debuting is mutually exclusive, although an early debut doesn't seem likely at this point).

"The members of WINNER express how they want to be guests at the concert, and the members of 2ne1 willingly agree." As though they had any choice / say in this, let's be real.

2ne1 visiting them at home in the next episode should be interesting, though. Jinwoo and Dara please become friends (also Mino).

Why Jinwoo and Dara? I want this too, they're both my main biases :)

Date: 2014-02-12 09:53 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] snoaz.livejournal.com
They are kind of similar, both the oldest and the cutest in the group (and the 'underdog' many would say in terms of singing). Dara mentioned in Who Is Next too that she wanted to cheer for Jinwoo because she'd heard he was similar to her.

But anyway yeah they're both my biases too and the two of them next to each other would be a cuteness explosion not to mention great to look at. Mino can join because he's said to get on well with Dara and they can become my new ot3.

gawd i can imagine the level of cuteness already.

I hope this setup is only exclusive for AON in Seoul. I know a Feb debut isn't happening but please, let it be March at the latest. Don't prolong it unecessarily!! I hate thiisss

I have a bad feeling all this predebut hype will backfire for YG.
It's just too much for a rookie group....don't care what company they're from.

well I don't know, it worked for EXO, and what YG is doing is a lot less obnoxious

lol no.
Exo had his own hype with all their teasers (like Winner with all the reality shows). But it wasn't until actually debut and now after the growl success that they were all over other sm fandoms stuff (yet they still had a lot of shit). Now imagine exo guesting before debut , when they still building their own fandom, at any SNSD/SUJU/ SHINEE concert, they sure would have got black ocean. With the way koreans seem to percibe fandoms it would had been bigger than whatever Winner will get, in a sense YG is a calmer fandom than any SM.

I was specifically speaking about predebut hype and whether or not it was effective or not. Do I think they will obtain instant success like EXO has now because of a few guestings at concerts? No. But do I think it'll help? Most definitely.

Doesn't seem like a bad idea to me. It'll give them more experience as performers and they can learn from 2ne1. And more exposure too. Though hopefully they debut soon.

I think it's a good idea tbh, in terms of building experience and getting more exposure. I still really hope that their debut happens ASAP cos I'm gonna have WINNER withdrawals when WINNERtv is over T-T

I know the fandom would eat all the hype YG created with them, but I also wish their music end worth something because I become too attached to Lee Seunghoon now :/
