Date: 2014-01-20 11:31 pm (UTC)Normally I loathe YG, pretty much, but I actually thought that what he was saying made sense and wasn't even that harsh for his doing (goodness knows we've heard him plenty worse). They're still rookies so of course you can't expect them to write their own Lies, but you have to come with better songs if you want to stand out, simple as that. I honestly really like the group for their personalities, but yeah in the end it's the music that has to make you a fan. I hope they'll deliver so I can indeed stan them.
The interaction with Big Bang was so cute. They're teasing Winner obviously, but at the same time they also seemed quite caring sometimes, especially GDYB the way they sometimes looked at them. Quite sweet. The video was over too soon, I'd like to have seen more. Though yeah, while Big Bang are the best persons of course to advise you on other things, variety isn't really their thing to school others about. I think they're like the only group who aren't good at variety to be honest, though luckily for them they don't really need it. Except Seungri of course who is a walking variety machine. He just saves the whole of YG on his own with his variety skills, seriously. The kid's a genius.
Ah, suddenly this makes me miss Big Bang on variety :( not talk shows but something like their 1 Night 2 Days parody. They're funniest when it's just the five of them without mcs.
Also, as for the pairings Seungyoon and Taeyang seem a good match and Seungri and Seunghoon were hilarious; TOP and Taehyun are too alike, awkward and beautiful (also Jiyong don't be jealous, you're so transparent lmao) and Mino and Daesung have a fun dynamic. With the other members too, actually. But although I loved Jinwoo's interaction with GD last episode I'm starting to think that actually they're not that good of a match, sorry fortune teller. Jinwoo seems too 'soft'for GD who can be so sharp, but then I don't know. Of course I'd like my two biases to become friendly.

Date: 2014-01-20 06:16 pm (UTC)And frankly YG should just officially push Winner's album release 'till late March, so that the guys will have more time to compose (especially as both fans and public will be very disappointed if they aren't involved with the majority of the tracks on their album as that was supposed to be their special "talent"). This will also give YG an opportunity to debut Akdong Musician properly in late February. I really don't understand why YG is pushing the both debuts in the end of the same month.

Date: 2014-01-20 07:35 pm (UTC)i loved so many things about this episode from seungyoon x taeyang being all qt together, dara's and minho's videos to eachother (my sweet bbs) and seungri and gd. i legit could watch a sitcom with seungri being dumb and gd laughing at him. yg's impressions were the best, seungri's two roles are killing me every time.
i wasn't too impressed with compositions tho, taehyun's was the best but still at the same moment yg said wow i thought meh. the beat was way too basic. ngl i worry they're gonna go safe with cd.

Hearing the songs that the other members composed (besides Taehyun) made me really disappointed. Especially Minho, since I love his 'Eolleri kolleri'. Glad YG knocked some sense into him and to do what he does best and just be himself.
I want the boys to do really well and stay long in the business. For them to do that, they need to find their place and be memorable. If they want to be in BB's level, they need to hone those skills that we see. Probably why YG gifted Taehyun those goodies.
Anyways, I'm glad YG talked to them. AND I'M SOOOO EXCITED ABOUT TONIGHT!!! TAEHYUN SAID, HE WANTED IT TO BE A GROUP SONG!! GROUUUUUP SONG!!!! YES YES YES!!! WORK THEM MAGIC TAEHYUN AND MAKE IT HAPPEN!!!

Mino's T-Rex impersonation had me staring at the screen in horror because I couldn't comprehend the noises coming out of his mouth. He needs to stop but then also he needs to never stop.
Seunghoon is the next Seungri and I am afraid.
While I don't agree about other things, I do agree with what YG said to them in terms of their compositions. Personally, I'd still like to listen to "Bad Hero" and "Shut Up" but perhaps on Seungyoon's solo or something; I don't know if it'd be good enough to get on their debut album.
Speaking of their debut album, I wonder if it's gonna be a mini or a full; if YG's insisting on self-compositions and solo songs... well, would he really release a mini album in which there is one group song and three-five solo songs? I'm praying for a full, but maybe that would be too much to ask...

Tonight was a jam and I'm now reminded that I want Smile Again to come out as a studio recording already.
BB and WINNER are so cute, you can totally tell that BB are on a power trip, teasing the kids so much. I need WINNER to relax around them cos they're usually hilarious as fuck but their nerves are doing them in lmao
