YG: “WINNER Planned to Debut at the end of February…First Mini to Have Self-Compositions”

Eight years after BIGBANG, YG Entertainment’s new boy group WINNER (Kang Seungyoon, Lee Seunghoon, Song Minho, Nam Taehyun, Kim Jinwoo) has finally decided their official debut.

Although WINNER still has not had their official debut song, Mnet’s ‘WHO IS NEXT: WIN’ collected buzz everywhere at the end of October last year.

Although they are an idol group that has not officially debuted, they have already received 5 advertisement deals, and in Osaka, Japan, last November, their first fan meeting brought a whopping 8,000 fans.

WINNER‘s announcement of their debut song has brought much attention to both the music industry and to fans.

YG’s head, Yang Hyun Suk, accepted an interview with Star News on the afternoon of the 7th.

Yang Hyun Suk: “From December until the WINNER TV that is being brought to you now, they have showcased the members’ daily characters as well as their character when they work.” He also added, “When WINNER TV ends, WINNER’s debut album is scheduled to be released at the end of Feburary.”

Yang Hyun Suk: “Recently, WINNER has been working hard with YG’s producers to produce their debut album. The probability of the WINNER members’ self-composed songs to be on there is very high.”

Yang Hyun Suk: “WINNER’s first album will also be a mini-album.” “After WINNER’s first album is released, they will begin their many activities in the music industry.”

i think so too. i think it's good timing too as there aren't so many big named acts making a comeback then it seems. and if winner tv ends by then, it seems just right to get them promoting their music. fans would be very excited to hear them after getting to know them more through winner tv.

Re: EXO, there's a rumor (screencap from Mnet Wide or something) that says TTS will be having a comeback on like April 3rd or something. If that's happening, then I don't think EXO would have a comeback at the end of March.

For once that might be correct, they really don't have any interest in delaying them. They need to secure Winner has an important act before BIG BANG leaves for the army one by one (good boys bands are gold digger, and Winner already captured interest from fans so it will be hard to mess that up). But it's going to mess everyone else. 2NE1, Taeyang & TOP (still waiting for those albums), Akdong Musicians (who shouldn't be delayed too much either...), Lee Hi (when is she coming back ??).
