I dont think I want to watch the drama since I really can't stand a 'not so clever' female characters. And I read reviews that said Sulli's character is dumb and weak. T-T But I wanted to watch it for Lee Hyunwoo and Minho so IDK...
I'm watching Secret now and I have to say its really good. The grey area is too many that you cant exactly define who is the good guy or who is the bad guy. I keep waiting for Bae Soobin's chacrater to go completely dark but he keep showing compassion and it makes me confuse lol. He got a perfect girl that loves him unconditionally and he did those unthinkable things behind her. :((
I feel like most Korean female lead characters can be categorized as 'dumb & weak', so I don't really let that stop me from trying out a show. Jandi is a 'dumb & weak' character, but she still looked multiple part-time jobs, had a scholarship, took care of her little brother by herself, AND could beat up a guy twice her size.
Sulli's character isn't so bad, she's written similar to the original manga version. Plus the whole show is base on someone's 'stupid' obsession with a random stranger.
I LOVE SECRET SOOOOOOO MUCH. Bae Soobin's performance was amazing, all the roles were very strong (maybe not so much the 2nd female lead, but that's normal). Never will I understand the logic of their love. The sacrifice and the deception is so sad.
Oh, unlike you, I really can't stand dumb characters -- it makes me feel very frustrated while watching that type of story that's why I stay away from that kind of dramas. Plus, all those dramas end really awful esp towards the end so I dont feel like I missed anything. But what are good dramas that have dumb leads but turned out to be good? I feel like its only 'My Girl' but I dont actually consider Lee Dahae charcater as dumb so...
Like you, I sooooooooooo love Secret too. ;_; I'm on the 7th episode now and I can;t stop. The writer is amazing since she's being able to write such really complicated male characters with real depth. And I like the female lead -- she come off as someone really strong and admirable despite being blind by love. I keep saying every episode that I can't wait to watch Jisung's reaction when she finds out that the girl in totally innocent -- since he's been really cruel with her now. I can't wait to watch his face when he falls for her and feel very guilty to all those things he's done to her -- I mean the baby's part is just too much imo -- the pain that she experienced when she lost the baby is much more than his lost since the pain of a mother who lost a baby is just very unbearable. Dont tell me anything since I'm only at the 7th episode now (plus I think the baby didnt die, I cant wait for him to appear :P). I just have to let this feelings out huhu. :D
Hmm, Playful Kiss is usually a good example (although the korean version is kinda the worst). She's pretty much the dumbest person in her class, but ends up becoming a nurse. SO yeah for character development.
SAN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The baby RUINED the show for me. It became the main reason for my addiction. I can't remember how bad things are at episode 7. But some how message me when your done. YOU NEED TO VENT (not that the ending is bad, it's just a hard drama to let go of).
I tried to watch Mischievous Kiss: Love in Tokyo recently since everyone said it is good but I really am dying watching the girl and the dumb role she needs to play. :(( It's really a torture. ;_;

Lol, PK isn't for everyone. It can be a little too Shouju manga at times.
I can TOTALLY understand, I watched it LIVE! The best [art of Secret was that the characters actually made SENSE. they reacted in logical ways (other than their romances, because really, who falls in love wit their gf's murder?!).
The last drama that I watch live is Gaksital and that drama literally drives me CRAZY every week. ;_; Such glorious time I must say. The anticipation and adrenaline is just too much that it makes the drama even more amazing.
And you are soo right about the characters' reactions -- it is so on point that they literally speak what come out from my mouth when I watch the drama -- I mean it rarely happens in kdramas but Secret just very realistic in term of the script. It is makjang and wasn't drag to the point of ridicules like other makjang dramas out there. So much things happen in one episode that you wondered what else gonna happen in the next episodes.
And you are right about Jisung ahahaha I mean, how messed up he is that he falls for the person that kill his gf and baby? Jisung's character was a really good male lead. Drama trends always effect plots/characters, so I can see how he fits the whole "messed up rich guy" that Secret Garden created. But with him it seems realistic and endearing. probably because this script actually makes sense.
I love the bodyguard, he spends half his day side-eyeing his boss.
You need to watch Gaksital! It is no doubt the best drama of 2012. It simply crazy and it will you put on the edge of your seat every freaking minutes. It's like City Hunter except LMH's character thinks before he acts but JW's character acts based on impulse. XD!! The girl is the only weak link in the drama but it doesnt make the drama less interesting or anything. You just wish they put a much stronger actress in that role. But Han Chae Ah is there and she basically stole the screen with her presence so its all okay. ^^
I'm 2 episodes away now from the ending! I'm watching it tonight but I'm sooo afraid it's gonna be a bad ending! ;_; I wanted them to be happy together but this is revenge kdrama so who am I kidding? No revenge drama ended with a good ending except Green Rose. :(( I watch too much already so I know what to expect tbh. But I really hope I'm wrong in this.

I feel so attached with the couple now like I was with Park Shi Hoo & Moon Chae Won in The Princess' Man. It's feel like ages since I watch a good kdrama (with awesome OST) and I'm sad they only have 16 episodes. Sorry for my squealing since I'm still excited with last night's episodes. XD
One day I will watch Gaksital, and I 'll hate myself for putting it off for so many years. But even CH was a little too dark for me sometimes (I barely saw the whole Daddy/sacrifice scene), so that day won't be for another few years.

I finished Secret a few days ago and I sooooooo love it! T_T I can't believe the writer gave us a rather very cute and awesome happy ending! I thought its going to end at the airport and me & my sister were like; NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!111 XD Honestly, I like it way too much than I should tbh. Now I have some withdrawal and I feel really sad since its going to be ages to find another drama like this again. ;_; I think I'm gonna rewatch it after my exam ends in January. :P
And Yoogeun is the baby HAHAHAHA I really can't get over the fact that it is him lol. Still can't forgive how he always look past Minho in Hello Baby and his drama has higher rating than Minho's Top Medical Team which air at the same time slot. lol I feel bad for Minho. Hopefully he will get a better drama next time. :3

I've gotten into Prime Minister & I, it's a romcom but it's still fresh. It kinda has the same feel as My Princess. Like you go in thinking "same old story, the dramas just going to rely on the eye candy" but then it has it's charms that make's it addictive.

Actually, when they replay back the accident scene in the last episode, I actually thought the writer gonna put a twist like Bae Soobin's character didnt actually hit the girl (but the barrel after all) but the girl died because of Jisung's father's instruction -- thus making Gwangsoo the killer???!!! :O hahaha but it wasn't the case. The way the editor replay back the scene from the beginning makes me having suspicious thought! XD Like you, I really trust her writing and it amazed me how she managed to do that since its not easy for me to like a kdrama. The way she exceeded my expectation in her writing is the same way like The Princess' Man writer did. I'm gonna watch closely her next projects since I know its gonna be awesome too. :DD

Yes, the replaying had me on edge. And the Se-yeon fake out, for half the drama I was waiting to find out she was the killer! I put off watching TPM and then PSH had his scandal, and now I don't think I can watch it. [/fangirl problems]

You should watch TPM -- it is really great and the drama basically exceeded your expectation in everyway possible. It didnt follow the usual kdramas plot so everything is basically unpredictable. The PSH case was really unfortunate but the drama is too great to cast aside because of him! :( Moon Chae Won is really amazing in that one -- I basically had heartache watching the two of them together -- IT IS THAT GREAT! Go watch it!!! haha! XD~~~
I will watch PM&I after my final exam. Please do a discussion post on it and we shall squeall together. :D
