well, i'm very much here for this, the two snippets that i've heard from the songs in the album (this one and my turn to cry) sound just like my favorite type of ballad. and if this teaser isn't incredibly misleading (like sm teasers tend to be) looks like the mv is going to be pretty so yay
the fandom mess rn tho... sm could have avoided this if they didn't tease for an ot12 comeback. like, i understand that this is not an usual comeback and it is an special album, but they could have been clearer on what exactly this comeback is going to be and that only 3 members would be singing the title track from the start. saying that is a ~gift~, a special christmas album or whatever didn't do trick, sry... and lmao at their damage control statements
baekchensoo (+luhan but oh well at least i'll have the chinese version :|) is the sub-unit of my dreams and i was waiting for this, but i thought they would test them with a ost first or something idk. i don't mind the sub-unit and i'm actually looking forward to this promotions a lot, but i feel like i've been lied to lmao
mte tho, if sm would've initially advertised it as a subgroup-type deal they would've been better off, but of course they set us up with an ot12 teaser and then pull the rug out from underneath the fanbase like "oh wait its not a full exo comeback lol"
i stan vocal line for kyungsoo only, and i preordered the album just as an ~ooh collection~ type deal but if the other members aren't at least gonna have some sort of role in promotions my support of this comeback is gonna be really halfhearted
also, you can preorder on kpoptown, either the korean+chinese version as a set with 2 posters or just the korean and chinese versions separately with their corresponding posters. preorder gifts are photocards.

SM made it clear literally from the start that this whole Christmas album thing WAS NOT a proper "comeback". It was a gift to fans for everything that happened this year. So, we get this beautiful sounding and looking teaser, everyone has good hair, they're not in a box, we get 5 new songs, and literally people are complaining because SM wasn't perfectly clear about everything from the start???? Like???? This was announced like 4 days ago???? JFC, this time last year we were in the middle of the longest hiatus OF ALL TIME for a rookie group, and now we get upset because the four best vocalists get to sing on a BALLAD in our THIRD promotional cycle of year??? UGH. What Is Love (both versions) is probably still my favorite exo song even though only 4 members sing. Real talk, we should be grateful we are getting this in the first place, so stop fucking complaining.
fans have every right to be angry tho. they're allowed to be mad if they want, there's enough basis for them to be so. just because you're satisfied doesn't mean that everybody else is going to be lmao
i was getting kinda pissy about the arrangement but really it makes a lot of sense. exo's getting daesangs left and right but ppl don't even know the individual members, so hey here's one way to start getting their names out there.

personally, i'm not complaining because this song and MV is literally everything i've wanted from exo but i do understand the rage about the "false advertising" bc really SM, is it so hard to add in your press release "the title song will feature the main vocalists"? i'm all for baekchensoo vocal line +luhan for chinese, but i do wish we were a little warned beforehand.

I'm not too upset over the vocal line singing only. But what does irk me is why not all 4 of them sang on both versions (Kor and Chi) Especially since we can pretty much expect the Chi version to not be performed. I consistently feel like Luhan is never treated as a main vocalist outside of the recordings. Like you never hear him sing on broadcast or radios, but BaekChenSoo perform all the time.
Eh. Maybe I'm just too Luhan biased.

i'm not even a big luhan stan at all but i feel the way he's treated as a vocalist really isn't fair. he's one of my favourite voices in exo tbqh, he's very talented and i think he deserves more recognition for that
