Is This the Beginning of YG's Domination? Big Bang, 2NE1, Akdong Musician, Lee Hi, and More

YG Entertainment's big guns are all aiming for an end of the year domination of the music scene.

Big Bang is taking over the fall and winter music charts with each individual members releasing a solo single. Seungri, G-Dragon, and Taeyang have consecutively dominated the charts, and TOP recently announced that his single will drop this week. Every single song by Big Bang members has reached the top of the charts, and there is high anticipation for TOP's upcoming solo single as well.

2NE1 is also releasing their single in a few weeks and will showcase the new single on Mnet Asia Music Awards. When this single reaches the top spot, it will be their third number one single of 2013.

Big Bang and 2NE1 are the two groups that represent YG. G-Dragon has risen to become an international icon featured in European and American  media, while Taeyang has dominated the Asian charts with his new single, "Ringa Linga", which was written by none other than his best friend, G-Dragon.

2NE1 started the domination early when they released the single "Falling in Love" in July and "Do You Love Me" in August. Both songs were instant hits. Although it's still under wraps, the anticipation for 2NE1's upcoming album and their trend-setting, genre-crossover style is at an all-time high.

YG Entertainment's domination does not end there. After the big guns of Big Bang and 2NE1 set the stage, the youngsters Akdong Musician, Lee Hi, and WINNER will enter the music scene to try to continue the domination. All three of them are currently working hard on their own albums.  WINNER is already popular due to survival program WIN and their debut stage is only about a month away . Lee Hi, the monster rockie from last year will try to dominate again with her soulful voice. Akdong Musician already topped the charts multiple times without a single media appearance, so their upcoming album and debut stage is also very highly anticipated.

YG's other big name artists, namely Epik High and PSY, are yet undetermined as to when they will release a new album, but if they release  their albums in spring or early summer, the fans will be seeing YG dominate the music scene for almost a whole year. For now, the rush of YG artists in the order of Big Bang, 2NE1, WINNER, Lee Hi, and Akdong Musician will satisfy all music lovers' thirst for YG's brand of unique and trendy pop.

Seungri did better tahn expected tbh, his album this time around didn't flop as fast as VVIP (which is STILL gold). IMO it only feels like that because his promos were even shorter then VVIP and yet again GD overshadowed his comeback.

Here's the thing with YG - they have the potential to dominate, but the way they manage things and the oftentimes odd and completely incomprehensible decisions the company makes prevents that from happening.

For example (cuz i'm a butthurt fan) I already am side-eying the SHIT out of how their managing Akdong Musician. To me, they seem basically last on the priority list, which is a pretty huge mistake. Take 2012, Lee Hi didn't even win Kpop Star, and her first single was out in October. Akdong should've released something by now, but taking into account the recent announcements, Taeyang is JUST starting promotions, TOP is next, and then probably Dae or 2NE1 or Winner????? UGH.

And don't even get me started on the prolific amount of bullshit they've spewed about 2NE1 this year.... we never got a third single or that October album and this whole MAMA award thing seems sketchy to me >_> Also, both singles were WAY weak, like Falling in Love was just an old demo from 2012 and DYLM was generic trash (also that video was just cheap ridiculousness)

Also, I thought Winner was supposed to debut as soon as the show ended, not three months after the fact?? At this point, the boys will be 2014 rookies (which if I think about it might be what YG was going for in the first place) But still, the hype was so so high after the show, and I'm not sure this is the right course of action for the group. And yeah, Winner remains the worst band name of all time.

tldr version: they will never get their shit together when it comes to artists that aren't Big Bang so...... NOPE

I have no comment about others, but Winner's debut isn't like literally immediately. They did say they are targeting in December or January for their debut. Also in the brief appearance of Akdong Musician in WIN, it seems like they are learning new things in recording. I don't remember what, but since they only depend on their guitar before this, there must be a lot to learn. I guess that's why it takes time. Since their songs are their own composition.

Right... YGE's all talk less action so I'll save expectations when I see an MV or album being released. But I really hate how every-BB-member-who-is-not-GD gets little promotion & to pack Tae & TOP's comebacks/solos back to back without a breather... sigh. Poor Akdong, YG should've released something from them while the buzz were still high after the show. Won't be surprised if Winner would be joining them & 2ne1 in their basement for a while.

haha yg domination, don't make me laugh. 2ne1 in particular have really underperfomed this year on the charts, which is pretty surprising if you consider their popularity but not if you actually listen to the songs. i just don't get why yg dropped them post-2011, and why he can't get his shit together now. even sm have management skills than this (also generally they don't make promises that they can't keep).

the only artists that yg manages well are big bang/gd for obvious reasons, and lee hi. only really looking forward to her new album, daesung solo stuff, winner providing they're not a big bang knockoff. i'll probably be waiting for years though.

YG is such a mess, but i'm start to thing there is something financially unstable there because he seem desperate for money at the end of the year. As a result we had all this digital single mess, like give me your artist albums when they happened and stop messing their potential and work with your disastrous management.
