internet/text/chat/leet speak has no business outside of that realm and I wish they would stop. Especially when it's a ballad and the title is something like 'I Luv U'. yes u r very kool, but not when you try to sell me shit spelled like that. and it took me ages before I read it correctly. I kept thinking it said rulate. Lack of spaces is making it hard
What does the lead single mean? How do I say it? Will track 7's lyrics explain these things to me? At least GR8U could be read aloud by someone with a mouth and tongue.
Why are there no spaces if I am supposed to say each letter separately?! Now I wonder what this song could possibly be about. idk, idgi, I don't pretend to understand today's youth so the age thing doesn't faze me.
Because the harder it is for us old folks to read, the more we'll stay away and let the young folks enjoy their young folk music in peace. And I suspect this track is about being late for school >__>
I plan to embrace the Kpop girl groups, like Nine Muses, that have an older style and audience. The kids can keep their rap song about skipping class to become a singer.
lol I tend to really dislike girl group songs and I don't really have emotions about many girl group members.
At this point, I await album releases from only a handful of groups, and I don't devotedly follow perfs/songs/tv for anyone. To me, being a kpop fan means casually paying attention to everyone in the industry (that means listening to everything once).
This may not be the most appropriate place to say I'm not really a Bangtan fan.
I wonder why this post is leading me to question everything about my music beliefs lmao; I am experiencing an odd moment of introspection. Trust me to write an essay about myself in a post about some random rapping kids.
I'm like you, actually, except that I go through phases where I really like certain groups and try to learn everything I can about them. But usually it doesn't take too long to watch all the well-produced official stuff with subtitles, and at that point I'm too lazy/skeeved out to join a fandom in hopes of learning more... plus most of what fandom 'knows' about idols is speculation or opinion presented as fact anyway. Which would be fine if I held the same opinions, but most of the time I don't XD. I wish there were more non-fluff magazine interviews in Kpop.
It's kinda like sifting for gold, in other words, generally not worth the effort. I try to keep track of all the idol groups where members participate in the music-making process, though.
"I try to keep track of all the idol groups where members participate in the music-making process, though."
YES.
Even if I find myself "obsessing" over a group, the extent of it will be to watch a few subbed cuts of their reality shows; since I don't ship or read fics, that's pretty much all I look for before creating my own opinion of each member's personality lol. But my ears perk up every time I hear about members taking part in composition. Big Bang and B1A4 are among my most respected artists in any language for this exact reason. I don't love the music from BAP or Block B (nor could I choose more than 1-2 members of either group out of a lineup), but I respect BYG and Zico for the work in their groups and for other groups. I like seeing that MBLAQ and UKISS members are spending more time on the other side of the mic. I want to hear more from Henry and Zhou Mi, but it's really too bad SME doesn't have the faith in the marketability of their songs that we see in some of the smaller labels. And that's really too bad.
are any of these gonna be similar to their song "Like"? god i loved that one so much @_@ and i don't know anything about bts besides that they're younger than me lol
When I saw 10 tracks, my jaw dropped. And then dropped some more at the tiles... lol @ Luv in Skool, thought they were 2 cool 4 that Anyway I'm super super super excited \o/

I'm more against the continuation of the school-theme than the text-speak, dun wanna be reminded that these rappers are like 15.
