The Ministry of Defense has begun a thorough investigation into celebrity recruits.

On June 26, YTN reported, "The Ministry of Defense started an investigation right away after the report surfaced that some of the celebrity recruits went to visit a massage parlor after their performance. The investigation will check if the celebrity recruits left their dorms without permission, and if they performed acts that harmed the image of soldiers at adult entertainment establishments and other places."

They added, "The Defense Media Agency, who is under the Ministry of Defense and manages the celebrity recruits, will also be held responsible. They are also currently considering getting rid of celebrity recruits completely, who seem to keep having problems."

The Minster of Defense himself ordered the investigation, and this time, the minister's office themselves will be conducting the investigation rather than the military police. If any kind of laws are found to be broken, they will be faced with strict disciplinary punishment.

Se7en's fan cafe, which was filled with supportive messages up until yesterday, has taken a drastic turn with disappointed fans venting their loss of respect for the singer with the outbreak about his misuse of celebrity soldier privileges.

Once devoted fans expressed their disappointment on Se7en's official fan cafe, 'FARINELI', writing, "The 10 years that I devoted to Se7en as a fan have all gone to waste", "This is just disappointing. Justice should be served", "He probably regrets it. Where did he go wrong?", "It's shameful to be a fan of a celebrity who goes to prostitution venues", "I can only sigh at this entire situation", "Give me back nearly 10 years of my life", "I wonder if he was always this kind of person and just succeeded in building up an image, or if he just changed as a person", "I can't even tell people I'm Se7en's fan now", "Se7en's birthday used to be the last digits of my phone number. I'm going to go get it changed now", "How can this all have happened..", "I don't even want to spare my emotions of anger on you now", and more.

As covered previously, SBS' 'On-Site 21' brought to light the 'special treatment' of celebrity soldiers who were caught going out and about in regular attire, using their cellphones, and drinking freely while on duty as an active soldier. Se7en and Sangchu are also being investigated for visiting a massage parlor, known for providing sexual services, in the middle of the night. The issue at hand is that these incidents all occurred while under active duty time, not on time off.

It has also recently been reported that before the program was aired, Sangchu is said to have commented during the investigation, "I'll take all the responsibility for this situation as a higher ranking soldier... This is not Se7en's fault."

However, netizens reason that whether or not Sangchu is the higher ranking soldier, Se7en cannot be claimed innocent in the matter as he is an adult, who is fully aware of his actions.

Regarding the whole ordeal, the agencies of both Sangchu (YMC Entertainment) and Se7en (YG Entertainment) are remaining silent. YMC has commented that they cannot make any comments as they aren't able to get in touch with Sangchu, while YG Entertainment has closed off all communications, even skipping out on releasing Yang Hyun Suk's letter to fans that was supposed to be revealed today.

Se7en's fan cafe has denied rumours that the singer has been banned from the page.

On June 26th, an active member of the fan cafe "Farineli" stated that the speculation that Se7en being banned for the site wasn't true, further revealing that internal conversations from the site were just taken out of context. It was also revealed that the speculations only started when other members continuously asked the site if Se7en should be kicked out. The fan cafe also expressed their apologies for the recent incident, especially with the immediate attention that it has received.

Yesterday, Se7en was involved in an issue surrounding celebrity military recruits spotted visiting massage parlours for indecent services, along with Mighty Mouth's Sangchu. Other celebrities such as Rain, KCM and more were also seen dressed in their casual clothes, drinking alcohol and using their mobile phones, which are usually not allowed while in military service.

SBS "In Depth 21" aired the footage last night and has been a hot topic amongst the netizens. The Ministry of National Defense stated that they are currently investigating the incident and added that appropriate sanctions will be in accordance to the law

It may be Se7en who made the mistake, but it's his girlfriend who's experiencing the fire.

After Se7en was caught going into and coming out of a 'Happy Ending' massage parlor, it wasn't just his fancafe that was experiencing a flood of comments. Park Han Byul's mini homepage also saw torrent of comments.

All the comments were related to Se7en, and many treated Park Han Byul's homepage as if it were Se7en's own page, criticizing Se7en in ways that had nothing to do with Park Han Byul. However, some left critical comments towards Park Han Byul as they stated, "Why didn't you treat Se7en better? You just lost him to a woman who cost 170,000 KRW... (Approximately 147 USD)", "If you marry Se7en and have a child, the child has to know that his or her father participated in prostitution", and "Unni, if you're gonna let him go, give him to me. I can accept everything that he did..."

Thankfully, some were showing their support for her, saying, "I can't believe he'd leave you, who's so beautiful with such a great body..", "Not as a celebrity but as a woman, you must be suffering. Ignore everyone else", and "Have strength!".

After Se7en and Sangchu's massage parlor incident, Se7en's past words about celebrities and the army have been gaining a lot of attention.

During a past interview he talked about the special exemption from military service that certain sports stars get to receive after achieving certain feats (ie: winning a medal in the Olympics). He stated, "Unlike sports stars, it's a problem that there's no set 'base' in place for celebrities. When sports stars get a medal, they receive a special exemption from military service, but it's all different for celebrities. There's nothing that says that once celebrities reach a certain point, they can receive a special exemption from serving like sports stars. I think the way Hallyu stars enhance the country is no different from the way sport."

His comment at the time had received so much backlash that he had to later come onto a radio show and clarify, "I think I got cursed at enough to last for the rest of my life. I meant it in way where it's not necessary for celebrities to receive the special exemption, but that the entire process for celebrities to get a special exemption is ambiguous compared to athletes because there are no set rules in place."

What do you think about his words in light of the current situation?

The investigation into Se7en and Sangchu's massage parlor visits will be finished on July 5th.

The Ministry of Defense said, "The investigation period is until July 5th. Once the investigation is over, we'll have the results not only on the general celebrity recruit situation, but also about Se7en and Sangchu."

They will be checking if the celebrity recruits left their dorms without permission, as well as if Se7en and Sangchu defamed the soldiers' reputations by participating in prostitution at an adult entertainment establishment. If the investigation finds the accusations to be true, they'll also be revealing the severity of the punishment that'll be handed to them.

The Ministry of Defense said, "Celebrity recruits aren't different from regular soldiers. They'll be punished the same way. We can only know how severe the punishment will be after the detailed investigation concludes."

my feelings from it, was that they were considering getting rid of the celebrity division. everyone would still have to enlist, just no more special treatment for events they put on.

some of those comments on Han Byul's site are just wrong on so many levels. i hope that the defense department isn't just blowing smoke, and they do something.obviously the celeb department is being taken advantage of by entitled celebs who whine like it is the worst thing ever.

just hoping that my SJ boys have kept their noses clean while serving, and continue to do so.

Wow I didn't know that korea gave celebs special privileges.... I feel like they shouldn't at all.... Either that or not expect them to serve. Cuz a soldier is a soldier.

And in the line of exempt from serving.... I think it's problematic cuz there's so many idol groups and minor celebs that they can't just exempt them all.....

This whole celebrity division is problematic. Not only for the obvious reasons like, who gets to go and on what merit, but for me, personally, this whole using hallyu stars to promote the Korean military just rubs me wrong.

I don't follow their activities on a larger scale but I know Leeteuk was in a play which no doubt was a melodramatic propaganda piece for Korean nationalism. He also does broadcasts about the joys of enlisting or something. Hyunbin visited Indonesia, Rain and Sangchu the US...

Idk, war propaganda makes me uncomfortable. So if the Korean government does abolish the division I won't be sorry to see it go.

There's a huge disparity here. On the one hand the consensus is that national service is sacred and must be served honorably. Despite that many celeb-soldiers have freedoms regular enlisted soldiers don't. My impression is when celeb-soldiers are away from base they're left to their own devices. Some observe the military code no matter what and some treat their off-base time as shore leave or something! The massage parlor visit just adds to the ick factor but isn't the main issue IMO.

From what i understand, they all went to a different place (not their base) for an event, which is what celeb recruits do. promote and stuff. and they had to stay for the night. Since they're there as soldiers on duty and not on their vacation, they're supposed to still be abiding by the rules. I could be messing up both articles about rain drinking with a superior and going back to the motel provided for them while seven and sancghu went else where. Im not exactly sure.

Either way, they messed up. Bad.

hoping the military sticks to their word about the celeb units. it's just so problematic. and also a bit naive of them to think that all of these male celebs are going to act like perfect angels simply because they're serving in the military.

it's become blatantly obvious that some of them do not regard their service with the same respect that your average joe does, and will still continue to act as though they're living the celeb lifestyle.

tbh a LOT of men visit prostitutes it isnt some obscure thing like a lot of ppl are acting. LOTS of ur oppas are prob doing this bc sometimes men like it more than normal sex for some reasons (i have theories i wont go into bc i kno any anti-male sentiment is gonna start shit lol) and tbh i wouldnt mind TOO much if they were in reno or s/t except it is illegal in korea which means the girls are prob not doing it by choice which is what makes this skeevy to me.
