I dont thin Asians are the only ones obsessed with skin whitening. In mexico there are still a lot of people that associate whiteness with being rich, powerful, better and above dark skinned person. I think it is due to the historic fact that europeans were white and seen as "gods" when they came to conquer america.

Noways the only accepted dark skinned people are the ones that have a "cancun tan" or "cabo tan"...

Probably not. Oh ma. I saw this hidden camera thing on Tyra where they were talking to black women who wanted to be lighter. And they had a fake doctor come in and tell them all these wacked out procedures they could do to make them lighter. And one even involved getting a full body skin transplant from which they could die. But the women still wanted to do it :o
