G-Dragon Reveals He Wants to Get Married Soon



G-Dragon revealed that he wanted to get married as soon as possible!

During the March 15 episode of “Thank You“, he traveled to Jeju Island with the rest of the panel. During one of the many conversations, he talked about marriage and dating.

He said, “I want to get married as soon as possible. If I had someone, I want to get married tomorrow. I heard that you can tell on the first sight if you’re going to marry that person. Is that true?“.

He also asked actor Cha In Pyo about his marriage to an actress, asking, “Is it nice to marry someone that’s in the same field of work as you are?“.

G-Dragon also added, “I have this big fantasy about what marriage is like. When you’re dating, there are good parts, but there’s also bad parts. I feel like I can’t focus on what I like, and I feel like my energy gets taken away. I think if I had a dependable family, I would have a good time both at work and with my family.”





I want to ask - Idols saying they want to get married right away, is this a kiss-ass answer to impress fans or is this a popular viewpoint on dating/marriage in Korea?

I'm hoping so too because ummm... This fantastical view on dating and marriage is a tad Disney-level naive. But I wonder...shouldn't idols not cater to that fantasy? That may contribute to their warped view of them.

Idt anything is wrong - I think its sweet (albeit unrealistic b/c most relationships are exciting in the beginning) but it is kind of interesting how he is still so optimistic after all the relationships he talks about going bad. But I was speaking less of GD and more of in general b/c I hear this often from idols and I've always wondered if this was just an idol charm or a lot of Korean citizens share the same view.

I think he really would marry a girl he really loves asap. IDK compared to other idols i follow he seems to have a very very romantic side and his views on relationships and marriage might be too Disney-ish but it feels like he really wants that. IDK judging by his songs he seems very sensitive and i hope he'll be able to find someone.

I should probably find his view on marriage romantic etc. But all I can think of is that he's going to be kinda disappointed. His view of marriage is super unrealistic LOL. He will have to sacrifice way more for a marriage (and kids!) than a relationship. I can see GD is the kind of person who really loves the /idea/ of things but the reality often turns out different. Anyway, I hope he is happy.

He says he's a sucker when he falls for someone, so I'm pretty sure he knows he's naive as fuck. He and daesung have always said the same thing but I think people that have parents with long stable relationships probably do have this romantic view of marriage. The same way some of us are jaded as fuck about marriage/relationships because of what we saw growing up.
