A Pink’s Jung Eun Ji surprises viewers with her acting skills

In the first episode of SBS’s That Winter, The Wind Blows, which aired on February 13, Jung Eun Ji attracted attention by fluently using the standard form of Korean. Previously, fans loved Jung for her facility at speaking in the dialect of the Gyeongsang provinces, playing the role of Sung Si Won in Answer Me 1997. This was natural since she’s from Busan. However, in the case of That Winter, The Wind Blows, people were worried about whether Jung would be able to convincingly carry off her role in the series, which requires that she speak the standard language. However, Jung has shown that she is perfectly capable of handling both the linguistic and the emotional demands of the role, in which she plays opposite Jo In Sung.
Kim Gyu Tae, the director of the series, complimented her: “Jung Eun Ji acts the way she wants to. She doesn’t just stick to some usual pattern; her spontaneity is a strong point.”
That Winter, The Wind Blows is based on I Don’t Need No Love, Summer and created a stir even before it started broadcasting because of the casting of Jo In Sung and Song Hye Gyo in the lead roles.

Interview with Kyung Soo Jin in ‘That Winter, The Wind Blows’
Actress Kyung Soo Jin recently revealed how she feels about playing opposite Jo In Sung as his first love.
Kyung appeared as Moon Hee Joo in the 5th episode of That Winter, The Wind Blows, which aired on February 21. Hee Joo falls in love with Oh Soo, played by Jo In Sung, gets pregnant. However, she is killed in a motorcycle accident while she’s in conflict with Oh Soo as he doesn’t want to have a baby.
Although her part was small, the starlet won over TV viewers, being hailed “Another Son Ye Jin.” She even topped the realtime search keyword list.
In an interview with Star news on February 23, Kyung said, “I played a small but amazing part. That’s why I’ve receiving positive responses.” She played the young role played by Lee Bo Young in The Equator Man and received rave reviews.
The actress said, “I was enchanted when I first read the script, and I decided to be in. I’m honored to be part of the series. I was very nervous while my first shooting, but the director really helped me overcome fears and concentrate on my part. ”
When asked about what it was like to work with Jo In Sung, the actress said, “I’m a huge fan of Jo In Sung, so it was like my dream come true. I hope there’s another chance to work with him in the future.”
Hee Joo dies in the 4th episode but she is to appear in Oh Soo’s reminiscence.

Date: 2013-02-26 04:48 am (UTC)SO GLAD I DID!!!
1) kim bum. duh.
2) THE MAIN GUY IS THE LOVER FROM FROZEN FLOWER!!! ikr!!!!!!
3) i forgot that 'melodrama' in korea is code for "crazy complicated as fuck storylines wherein everyone attempts to fuck over everyone else because everyone knows everyone else"
4) it's as addicting as Nice Guy was, when Nice Guy was in the thick of it (i ended up hatinggggg that tho)
polls:
1) definitely watch it. there's a scene in the first episode where you will be like OMG THEY ARE PERFECT FOR EACH OTHER. so the rest of the episodes you will sideeye everything they say. give it until ep 5 and you will finally understand how everyone knows each other.
2) crazy ex gf. that bitch is CRAYYYYYYYY. i also love how Moo Chul talks. so smooth and villainous.
3) until ep 5 i was CONVINCED she knew. but that lying down scene. yeah. no. she doesn't know.

Date: 2013-02-26 04:53 am (UTC)Anyways, gonna sort of copypasta what I wrote from somewhere else:
I have no idea how I’m going to survive the rest of this series…
I'd enjoyed the first four episodes a lot, but episode five was the one that broke my heart and made me its biyotch. Oh Soo’s confronation with Moo Chul just…oof…I hadn’t seen a crying scene get to me that much since Uhmforce in Equator Man last year. God. I both loved and hated it all at once. Loved because these characters are so multi-layered and complex. It makes perfect sense why Oh Soo is the way he is. And Moo Chul, too; but he’s twisted and evil because of it. He’s an example of what happens when you let hatred consume you and take over your life.
And then we have Hee Sun who just…I don’t know where she stands, but I suspect she actually does care for Oh Soo somewhere deep in her heart, but hates herself for it (and thus conversely hates him more). I hope this is close to the truth, as it makes her whole back-and-forth with him a bit more reasonable.
But, still, Hee Joo’s death was an accident. A horrible, horrible accident which has affected these three characters. But, none of them seem to realize that.
And Young is finally opening up, smiling, trusting…being content and my heart just cracks at what’s going to come when she finds out the truth. That is, if she doesn't already know. Plus, that ever-drama-favourite-disease… Urgh, have I mentioned this show is gonna kill me?
This show may be a melo, but it has me on edge a bit like a thriller. When will they find out the truth? How will they find out? Is there anyway out alive of this for Oh Soo? How far will these people go just to make him suffer even more for something that was an accident? I’m going to be a nervous wreck for the rest of this, but I’ll love it all the same.
Oh, and my answers to the poll were YES!, So Ra (ugh, hate her), and undecided for the last (it could go either way!).

Date: 2013-02-26 05:06 am (UTC)If they're gonna kill characters then I'd rather they both die then one stay alive suffering. I think there's like a 10% chance for a happy ending where both of them live happily ever after but im not hoping for much.
Also, i want Ohsoo to succeed but at the same time I don't want Youngie to believe 100% that he is her real brother, because then think of how weird and hard it's going to be for us and for her to accept that she has fallen in love for him? I mean that's just not gonna work for me. I think she seems happy right now but I'm not buying it that she believes him 100% just yet.
Wow, we're only five episodes in and i feel like this drama has advanced so much, im really curious as to what they're going to do for the remaining 11 episodes!

Date: 2013-02-26 05:15 am (UTC)all in all I think this drama is really strong - Jo In-sung is a fantastic actor, and without him playing Soo I probably wouldn't like this drama remotely as much. I just hope it keeps this up and doesn't end up lagging as it gets longer, as dramas are wont to do. I'm rooting for this one, though!

Date: 2013-02-26 05:33 am (UTC)Also Soo is so bad at pretending to be Young's brother sometimes I can't help but laugh at it. The cuddling, grabbing her face to show how the guy was going to kiss his girlfriend, hugging her from behind, the stuff in the preview for the next ep. Really selling the whole brother thing there. (These two have some really good chemistry, though, so I'm definitely not complaining.)
I love how the characters in this drama are more complex and not cookie cutter drama types. Except So Ra. Girl is obviously crazy and needs a reality check like right now. I love you so I'm getting you put in jail so you can't leave me while I'm gone? Wonder how she's going to stir things up when she finds Oh Soo again.

Date: 2013-02-26 05:45 am (UTC)I think the characters are still being totally fleshed out, but the foundations are there. I'm still reeling from when Young was fine with dying with so much ahead for her and Soo was on a limited timeline and fighting for life.
I personally think death would be an easy way out for these characters. I want to root for them. I want to see them both win.
Also, everyone on this show is batshitcrazy. I LOVE IT.

Date: 2013-02-26 06:01 am (UTC)I don't think she 100% believes him but she obviously wants to SO BAD. I mean, her life has been so devoid of hope and trust for so long and here comes this brother she's been building up in her mind since she was child. I can't wait for his true identity to be revealed but I'm living for the squickiness of their relationship. I was actually squirming at the reunion scene when he grabbed her cheeks (can you imagine being a partygoer witnessing that omg).

Date: 2013-02-26 09:15 am (UTC)...I just hope this drama doesn't have a tragic ending like What Happened In Bali.
Hopefully I can refrain myself from spoiling myself of the ending of the Japanese drama this drama is based off.

Date: 2013-02-26 10:39 am (UTC)What I love from this drama is that the characters are not entirely good or bad. They're in that grey area that makes me wondering myself whether or not I should let the bad things they do pass or not. Not So Ra though, that girl is craaaay.
The cinematography in this drama is sooooo beautiful and Jo In Sung & Song Hye Gyo is just flawless. Their acting is great and so believable. Although I must say I sometimes annoyed by Kim Bum's & Eun Ji's character, I love this two because they're cute together. IDK why I feel this tugging feeling in my heart everytime they do the flashback to kid Young&Soo. And I smile like an idiot everytime adult Young and Soo laughing freely. SOBS.
I do hope they won't bring the brain tumor as the major issue though, I always kinda hate it when K-Dramas bring incurable diseases and sudden stabbing/gunshot into the picture.

wtf! sister/brother luvin' nooo but yess they aren't related wtf korea stoppp.
I like Hee Sun but I wish she was just a team player, part of their con crew.
The story of her being the dead ex-girlfriend's sister is stupid. Makes me dislike her jealous ways.
