Q: Where is the upcoming album up to?
A: We are very concentrated on the recordings. Since we only released "I Love You" last year, we are preparing many songs. I am also thinking about a solo debut with an album.

Q: How are the songs different than "I Love You"?
A: Until now we have not think about it there, but the songs are 2NE1-like; there are fast and slow songs.

Q: Do you not have stress to show as a better artist?
A: Actually, my style is one who gets bored quickly and wants to try out new things. If I keep doing the same thing I feel that I am not going forward. I usually change things a lot too, which is the image of CL.
However, CL's and Chaerin's personalities could be different, because I could also be informative. These tend to be a balance.

Q: Instead of a person being on a trend, you seem to be a person bringing the trend (according to your fashion and music). Do you purposefully plan this or bring it naturally?
A: I don't plan them purposefully. Of course I cannot ignore trends but I absorb them to be part of me too. Trendy things are not fun.

What is important is the depth. Especially in fashion, details are more important rather than the outer design. I think it's worth it where energy by staffs, efforts, and even much expenses are poured out. I am thankful for this too.

Q: Last summer, four little ladies shined the stage with outstanding energy. Where is CL's principle of energy in?
A: I think it comes from it comes from passion and the mental strength. I put all myself in just like how I do it with only sleeping one hour per day during promotion days, even though I might could sleep 12 hours per day when there are no promotions.

Last year in Singapore, my heart still feels amused that I got to perform in front of thousands of people. I am not a type of person who cries a lot, but after I went back to Seoul, I cried so much. I need to use the energy that I gained in something, but whenever I could not like this, I feel very frustrated.

Q: You are in the age where you are interested in love. People will also probably be a stereotype where your energetic image seems that you hang out too much.

A: Honestly, I can not drink even one glass of alcohol. Of course I tried some but I never got drunk. I do not like the mental status of being not normal. Instead, I enjoy being not normal by working too hard that I lose my mind. I am also a type of person who breaks a mood, since I am too serious.

Q: Recently, your father who is a professor became a hot issue. Is it your family's strict tradition that you came to be righteous?

A: No, never. My parents are more hyper than me who can hang out and play more than me. I also never got scolded when I was little. I grew up in a place where there was freedom, and this taught me to be responsible too. My parents even once said that it is up to me whether I can bomb a test without studying.

I got to learn responsibility with my parents' sayings that the future is built by one's own. I was nervous about my future life. Also, since I debut they let me manage my own expenses. That time I was 16 and they let me by myself whether I became a rich person or a beggar. Starting that time, I learned how to manage money well (Laughter).

Q: With these unique parents and as a singer you took another way than others in your age. Do you have any regrets or tensions?

A: I had a regret where I thought that I could not have a normal life like others until last year and before. This is because I really wanted to step the procedures of life such as studying and marriage.
There was a tension between CL and Chaerin too.

However I got to see that friends from my school struggled in the end. I got to feel better when I realized that being normal or different does not have any difference where my inside would be hidden.

Q: Then how is Chaerin's life? We honestly feel that your real name is more feminine than CL's image. How different is the lifestyle?

A: At home I enjoy my time by watching sitcoms or romantic drams as well as eating delicious food. I choose movies that are lovely, instead of movies that give mental shocks.

Q: That is an unpredictable feminine side. Do you have more sides that are feminine than this?

A: It does not look like that but I am the most girlish from 2NE1's members. I use to watch romantic and comedy movies, learn cooking, and even during school days, I helped left out (bullied) people and changed them like the .

I also have a nerdy side and I've seen myself through them too. However, I do not fit well with girls who chatter too much girlish-ly.

Q: We heard that you like to draw occasionally?

A: I still draw. It's just that I don't show it. I am a type of person who does not like to show things unless they are perfect..

From before I always thought about composing songs. However when it comes to be comparing to Teddy, I just don't want to try. Like today, my makeups are done by specialists instead of me because they are truly better than me.

Q: Who knows your side where you love romantic movies, comedy, and cooking? It will be a big reverse for the fans.

A: The story before is about Chaerin's. Even though CL has that image on stage, she is also a person who is honest with her opinions. Also, I am a introspective type of person, so sometimes I get misunderstood by people that I don't have manners by just being quiet.

There are times where I do not want to go to places where I need to drink. I hear that I am arrogant in this situations. But do you think they would at least understand if I had a cuter image? If it wasn't my strong image, they would have understood (Laughter).

Q: What is your recipe that you are most confident about?

A: I tried French cuisine and even learned Korean cuisine from my grandmother, but I think my best is the soybean paste soup. I also recommend white rice cooked in a Le Creuset pot. People who tried this definitely will want to try it again.

Q: How much does your fashion beauty dominate your life?

A: In my work, it is nearly 100%. When I was young I didn't have any interests in makeup or skincare. However, with what I remember I used to always be interested on fashion.
Because I didn't want to be closed in with what my mom always bought me, I started shopping my own clothes during 4th grade. Since I didn't have lots of money I went to traditional markets and cheap vintage shops.

Q: Which designers are you most interested in nowadays?

A: Nowadays I am more interested in vintage looks rather than designers. Recently in London, I was really excited in the thought that I could go to a variety of vintage shops.
I am interested in collecting vintage styles from Chanel, Versace, Mugler, Junior Gaultier, and Castelbajac. I am obsessed in collecting old archives.

Q: Now I think your thick eyeline and blonde hair became CL's representative trade mark.

A: I tend to do eyeline since I don't have any double eyelids. I don't feel safe if it is too thin (Laughter). For hairstyle, I want to try black and even white. But people stop me if I do white, because it looks scary. On the other hand, pink and purple colors are too much.

Q: Where do you get information about beauty?

A: I mainly get it from Bom. She has experiences rather than specialists who know skills. I do not really feel into beauty but sometimes I get skin trouble after sweating during a performance.
I get skincare treatments and even my hair in order to maintain the blonde color. I also care my head skin so that I won't have many wrinkles. The problem is "what to eat".

Q: What is your complex?

A: I have too many. Places that are confident are all hidden. One of my complexes is my hands. Since my hands are kind of fat, I grow long nails to maintain the looks.

Q: Do you not need medical scientific help to avoid the complex?

A: I had some stubbornness about plastic surgery. During my trainee years, I was worried about my eyes and wanted to stretch it, and also my nose where a little bone came out. I used to want to cut this but now I think they are my charm.

Now, I don't really care about them and I feel better because of my makeups, since my standard of changing (appearance) got higher.

Q: How do you balance between CL and Chaerin?

A: To use the tense and relaxation well, and I am also thinking to start yoga again. I used to do yoga with my sister and mom during middle school, and I think there aren't better things that this.

I also meditate through musics by myself. Also my father use to say that "cooking is art's peak". As a result, I like to concentrate by myself quietly by cooking and drawing too.

Q: Unique people tend to choose you.

A: Normal people will hate me. I like to stay with people who look at me strangely and those who I want to learn more from. I also like being with people who speaks different topics and subjects.

This is why I have more 30 year old or up friends, while I only have several friends on their 20s.
When I was young, I used to play with my aunt, or aunt's friends.

Q: Just like other idol groups, 2NE1 cannot stay forever. Have you ever thought about the next step?

A: That is probably our charm. We do it like it is the last because that cannot go forever. We do it thankfully with a motto "When can we do this again?".

Q: What is the song that is in your mind lately?

A: 2NE1's recording songs. I hear to them so that I won't get confused and blent.

Q: What type of man do you want to date with?

A: Men who I can respect to. I do not like younger men, but this might change as time passes. As long as the man has the same conversation and does not have a flat butt.

I dunno, lots of celebs (who don't come from well-off backgrounds) don't seem to know how to manage their money, they spend it on stupid things or risky investments. Even ordinary ppl (in the US at least) have had this sort of "extended adolescence" thing going on, and aren't necessarily functional adults in being able to manage bills and credit card debt. >.> At least those other parents are actively helping their kids (or exploiting them? or some combination of the two?) rather than letting them careen into financial ruin or whatever. ^^;

But I'm more talking how a lot of actors even idols have no idea how much they have, what it's invested in, etc.
