B.A.P's Himchan injures his hand & Greeting for Naver and Olleh

B.A.P’s Himchan fractured his finger.

Himchan, who is in charge of vocals in B.A.P, was going to ride a car around 10 days ago, when he slipped and fractured his ring and pinky finger. After receiving surgery, Himchan is currently resting at his parents’ house.

Himchan is currently wearing a cast on his hand and wrist, and the hospital that he received surgery at said that he will need to rest up for now, and it will probably be difficult for him to participate in ‘One Shot’ promotions, which is planning to show ‘total manly performances’ with choreography such as the ‘push up’ dance.

Their entertainment company said, “More than anything, he and the members are feeling the saddest.” They added, “The disappointment seems to be larger, because this album was one that all six members worked harder than ever on since they felt that they were showing the true colors of B.A.P in a long time through ‘One Shot’.”


Wishing him a speedy recovery, talk about timing...

IDK, there's a lot of arm swinging and air punching, it would be painful. I wish he'll pull a Minho and sit on a throne/at the feet of the Matoki singing his lines.

Not usually... though I wonder if they'll just do the routine as if he's there, or if they'll have Jongup take his parts (it won't sound as good) or have BYG take them (could be great! XD)

It's a good thing they aren't promoting Punch, since I think he sings more of the chorus there (like in No Mercy).

At this point I kind of like him better than BYG... not as a person, of course, but he's got a pretty good and versatile voice and good musical sense.

It'll be hard with the pushup dance and falling down parts though for sure. And they are flailing their arms and hands all over the place. It'll be painful.

I think they are just taking a precaution in case it does get worse, especially with the concert coming up soon.

Though I do hope he'll just be around even just to sing (probably seated somewhere in the stage).

Yeah, the dance is impossible (or very much inadvisable), but I don't get what they have against putting ppl in chairs to sing. That chick from Hello Venus missed out on 2 rounds of promos and I don't even get why. >.>

Glad there's an explanation as to why he was missing from Jongup's graduation and birthday, I just assumed he was sick. I'm glad he's able to rest up but eeesh the timing could not be worse.

He's certainly in charge of some of the vocals. In fact, I'd wager that the lines are divided up pretty evenly in "One Shot," more than they have before.

Ignoring Crash and Hajima, which weren't done with their in-house producers, One Shot is basically like Warrior and Power in vocal distribution for Himchan and Jongup. There wasn't really a difference between Warrior and Power in number of lines or counts, just Himchan wasn't being covered up by Daehyun in Power. Himchan does have a little more than Jongup this time, but he doesn't really have much more than usual, he only sings twice and I think his lines are the same both times.

If we were talking about Punch, Punch is structured more like No Mercy and I think Himchan and Jongup have the chorus, so it would have been inconvenient if they had been promoting that.

I think this mini is automatically better for Jongup and Himchan just because there isn't a real ballad. Or a DitR. >.> But to me the real difference seems to be that Daehyun and Youngjae are utilized more evenly than they have been before (at least for Coma and One Shot; I haven't listened to all of them that closely, though.)


ETA: and of course he has some vocals. It's not like he's... Sehun. orz (Though for some of the ballads it's pretty close....)

Daejae alternate lines for Zero too. :D I like the effect! BUTBUT: if I'm not wrong, Himchan gets the entire Zero bridge (apart from the 'oh eh oh eh oh' bits)? It's single-note stuff but it's like eight bars. Jongup might be somewhere in there as well but I can't really tell.

Yeah, zero is the one song I dislike, so I don't think I've even listened to it twice. XD But I am v pleased with this direction. I'd been getting increasingly despondent over Youngjae's lack of lines, especially with No Mercy and Hajima. >.> (And even Daehyun, I'm worried he's going to screw up his voice. I actually worried he already had, but the upcoming promotions should be indicative either way....)

I just watched the Gaon Awards perf and there's nothing to worry about re: Dae's voice, at least for now haha. Also, idk if you saw it but fan accounts say Jae took over for Himchan for the Inki prerecording, so technically he has even more lines in One Shot atm. (Sigh, I think I'll really miss Himchan's presence in the lives. :()

It's too bad, but I guess I'll look on this as a rare opportunity for alternate arrangements... I'm sure Himchan will be able to perform it at some point. Maybe he's not actually going to sit out the entire promotion, I assume they're going to continue promos after the concerts, so he could come back then.

Hmm, I don't really agree. "Warrior" was unevenly distributed, not only in terms of lines but in terms of vocal and rap parts. "Power", on the other hand, was actually fairly well distributed, vocally, with the main verses neatly divided up between Himchan, Jongup, Youngjae and Daehyun, and the chorus consisting of group singing and Daejae vocals. The integration of the rap parts was also well done, imo, it didn't override the vocals.

So, I agree with you on the comparison of "One Shot" to "Power" in terms of the line distribution pattern, but I don't think it's necessarily a slight. We didn't hear the likes of this distribution in the promoted songs that followed "Power", until now -- hence my comment re it sounding more evenly-distributed -- with "One Shot".

Warrior (http://kpopcolorcodedlyrics.wordpress.com/b-a-p-warrior/) and Power (http://kpopcolorcodedlyrics.wordpress.com/bap-power/) had the exact same breakdown. Daehyun/Youngjae/Himchan/Jongup with approximately equal parts of the verses, then group singing for the chorus (in warrior, this was "warrior hoo" while in power it was "we got the power, i got the power") with individual lines in the chorus for Daehyun and Youngjae (with a little more for daehyun than youngjae). And of course large rap verses for both BYG and Zelo, and random punctuations throughout which I don't really count.

In One Shot, it's more like... BYG rap verse, Himchan and Jongup pre-chorus (with Himchan more than Jongup), Daehyun/Youngjae pretty evenly split sung chorus, but no group, and then BYG gets a... post-chorus thing, then Zelo's rap verse, H/J pre-chorus again, D/Y chorus again, then Youngjae and Daehyun verses, then the sung chorus again, and BYG's post-chorus. Himchan and Jongup still get very few individual lines and no group singing. It's not real a step up (for them) from Warrior/Power.

(BYG does the post-chorus thing in Coma, too; his lines seem to be expanding. XD)

Huh, well I stand corrected re the line distribution in the two verses and chorus of "Warrior"! :) But I maintain the overall structure of the song lends to being imbalanced. Or at the very least, by comparison, "Power" is structured in a way that is more balanced. There seems to be equal parts rap, verse and chorus, from what I can tell based on the lyrics.

On the subject of "One Shot (http://colorcodedlyrics.com/2013/02/b-a-p-bieipi-one-shot)," I had a look at the lyrics and parts distribution and it seems to be evenly distributed for everyone... except Jongup. Unless these lyrics are mistaken, there seems to be: a rap intro by Yongguk; verse by Himchan; verse shared by Jongup and Zelo; chorus split evenly between Daehyun and Youngjae; then a rap chorus of sorts, featuring Yongguk, Himchan, and Zelo, ending with a refrain by Yongguk ("You only have one chance u know?"); Zelo's rap; verse by Himchan; verse shared by Jongup and Zelo; chorus bridge chorus by Daejae; and finally the same rap chorus by Yongguk, Himchan, and Zelo, with Yongguk's refrain concluding the song. I'll have to give it another few listens myself to confirm this for my own ears.

But at any rate, it seems that the song is kind to everyone but Jongup. His verse isn't wholly his, although he (and Himchan) at least sing different lines in each half of the song.

Hm... I'm not sure the "only one shot Xinfinity" is actually all three of them, I think it could just be BYG. But I'm not sure....

Yeah, Jongup only gets to sing half as much as Himchan. At least Jongup is main dancer so performance-wise he usually benefits.

We don't really know how bad it is but I'm guessing the surgery was needed because the bones in the fingers are so delicate and they wouldn't mend nicely using a cast only.

It won't be the same watching them perform without him but hopefully he'll get whatever rest he needs to recover properly so he'll be able to perform in future without any problems. I'm sure he'll be really sad he's going to miss out like this but his health should come first.

Am I the only one who has been noticing how off Himchan has been recently? Even in this video..who does he keep looking at and why does it look like he's hiding behind Jungup and some points. He seems kinda scared or timid and seems fragile.
