1. [+436, -47] Who exactly is he giving the middle finger to, and why so persistently? Looks like him talking crap about Korea wasn't a mistake at all. His stupid fangirls shielded him saying it was a mistake and that it was distorted but he's hated Korea from his roots. What a disrespectful delinquent. Does he think that behaving in such a manner is cool and free-spirited?

I've learned that it netizens always seem pressed about something, for good reasons or bad. Which is why their reactions don't mean nearly as much to me as a fan.

In any case, he apologized so I think that's fine. It's not like he refused to apologize.

I'm always weirded out how out of touch k-netizens are from rest of the world. It's like there would be some huge firewall in the Internet surrounding them. Anyhow I have news for you k-netizens, giving a finger is a lot healthier attitude than crying yourself to sleep because bad comments and endlessly apologizing over some non issue. There would be whole lot of less suicides too in your show business if Korean celebs would care less about netizen opinions than they do.

Um, I assume they linked his giving the finger to his "apology" over the planking incident, since he posted them the same day (and if he meant his apology humorously, it easily comes off as sarcastic. I don't know if knetizens interpreted it that way, but if they did, he should have known better and worded it differently to avoid that outcome, if he'd wanted to). ie. that it was insincere, and he was saying "fuck you". So actually I don't blame them for getting annoyed. It's not like he posted a picture of him giving the finger in a situation where it was not linked (or could not be interpreted to be linked) to anything and they blew up spontaneously.

It was upsetting to see you have to return to America for an unfortunate event but the way you've been acting since your return, it's obvious that you only consider Korea as a way to make money.

To an extent, I agree to this. His family lost their their house in Seattle to the bank recently, that's why his whole family's back in Korea now.

I guess the reason why he's getting all this hate is because he's still very much tied to the idol world. As much as Jay hates it, and wants to be apart from all of that, he was once a part of a very well known idol group. He isn't credible enough in the "underground hip hop" world to let go of his idol status yet, where he is making a lot of money.

Oh well, I wish him all the luck. I may not support most of his actions and doings, but he is himself. I'll just shield myself from all the dumb shit he does and focus on the entertaining ones lol.

I think that the problem is more about netizens' xenophobia than anything, and that's the main reason of his scandal a few years ago.

There is no legit criticism about his actions the past few days.

Knetizens place celebrities to a higher standard in morality and conduct, especially the idols, since "they infleunce the young kids." It's ridiculous but this is basically the reaction you'd get if a politician tweeted a picture of him doing a middle finger. that's why they were so upset about t-ara bullying, g-dragon weed scandal, and etc. Idols are supposed to be perfect in everything and while I don't agree with them, I don't think you guys should be so quick to dismiss them as dumb or pressed. Different cultural standards.

Personally, as "free" as Jay Park's image is, I feel like he's ignoring the severity of the situation and that's not very smart - yes it is nice to have a personality but it was never tasteful to post pictures like that and he's really adding fuel to the fire. why does he enjoy this?

He's not ignoring it, in fact he acknowledged that some people might be offended by his picture but he also implied, we have different opinions (basically saying, he doesn't think there is anything to be offended about in his picture). You can say it as "i don't give a fuck" attitude but the way he worded his apology and so are his previous posts when fans complained about his tattoos back then clearly show that he understood where the netizens are coming from but it's just that, he genuinely doesn't see anything wrong with it. Rightfully so.

He doesn't enjoy it. He was stressed out. You know that because the next days he tweeted about going to the gym, working out, staying focused. In previous interviews, he said if he is stressed, he works out a lot. And that's what he did so I don't think "he enjoys it".
