Model turned actress Han Hyo Joo (22) has been surrounded by rumours that she is dating actor turned businessman Kang Do Han (27 on July 22).
Fans have been buzzing with curiosity over the past 24 hours as media outlets reported that the two are in a relationship. Hankook Ilbo said that they were seen on dates at the horse riding club Kang is in charge of marketing for. The speculation following the report increased due to a fake Cyworld account under Kang Do Han’s name that confirmed their supposed relationship.
Interestingly, Kang told Maeil’s StarToday on the afternoon of July 16 (before Han Hyo Joo could be reached for confirmation), “I can’t say anything right now. I haven’t spoken with Hyo Joo once today. The situation will be revealed soon.”
Han Hyo Joo finally clarified matters on the morning of July 17 by stating, “I met Kang Do Hwan four months ago while with a group of acquaintances. We have a close obba-dongseng relationship and comfortably share problems related to our careers.” Han added that she is worried the relationship rumours will make things awkward between them. She also apologized for not being able to clear up the rumour quickly due to her busy schedule.
Kang Do Han is best remembered as Dong Wook, the long-time friend of Song Hye Kyo’s character on Full House. Han Hyo Joo is currently enjoying the national success of Brilliant Legacy, which has four more episodes left to be broadcast.
