MBC drama "7th Grade Civil Servant" beat "Jeon Woochi - Drama" in just 2 episodes and came in first place.

According to AGB Nielsen Media Research on the 25th, "7th Grade Civil Servant" rated 14.5%. This is 1.8% more than the previous episode.

On the other hand, KBS "Jeon Woochi - Drama" fell 0.2% to 13.4%, letting the way open for "7th Grade Civil Servant" to take over the throne.

Han Gil-ro (Joo Won) and Kim Seo-won (Choi Kang-hee) in "7th Grade Civil Servant" met again as rookies of the National Intelligence Service and started quarreling again.

Meanwhile, SBS "The Great Seer" rated 9.0%.

2PM’s Chansung made a powerful first appearance on the new Wednesday-Thursday MBC drama ‘7th Grade Civil Servant’.

The 2nd episode of the drama had drawn viewer’s attention by having multiple NIS (National Intelligence Service) agents such as Chansung, Kim Min-Seo, and I-Elle, etc. Furthermore, the appearance of the decent agent, Gong Do Ha (Chansung), who seemed not to have taken his eyes off Kim Seo Won (Choi Gang Hee) was enough to shake female hearts.

Gong Do Ha and Kim Seo Won have their first encounter while Kim Seo Won Hee was trying to avoid Gil Ro (Joo Won) at the NIS interview, resulting to drag Do Ha as her shield. Ever since then, Do Ha couldn’t help hiding the feeling that he began to have for Seo Won.

Furthermore, the veil of Do Ha’s bullet-scarred abs was revealed, in turn provoking the motherly instinct of female viewers.

‘7th Grade Civil Servant’ is the romance action performance where everything else of the newbie agents is lie except the love they have. The drama is on air every Wednesday and Thursday night at 9.55PM.

I agree. I think a few parts of it show promise, but it's definitely not off to an amazing start.

I think episode 2 was better than episode 1, but that's not really saying a lot in the end. A few of the moments were funny, but I'm hoping for further improvement in episode 3 now that we've got everything set up and their in a good contained environment.

I think Joowon and Kang Hee have a good bickering chemistry. I don't know how much I'm going to buy into their romantic chemistry yet, but sometimes dramas have magic ways of getting me to root for a couple.

I think Chansung has done a good job so far. I think I'm mainly impressed just because his character is totally opposite of his irl personality. His back story seems a little over the top with the explosion and what not, but I'm also a little confused? I'm assuming the flashback took place during his military service maybe...? And maybe that girl who he was suppose to kill is N Korean...? Those are all guesses though.

But I totally agree with you on everything else. Episode 2 was better than the first episode and I'm hoping to see more development in the 3 episode.

ugh bickering chemistry. it rarely works. apparently my favorite iterations always end up with one person ending the bickering and the other person being angry they can't bicker anymore (City Hunter PMY/LMH, School 2013 LJS/WB)

I think changsung was an soldier for UN because of the blue logo at his hat and the foreign doctor. Presuming the place is around SEA bcos the girl is a trained child soldier, he was supposed to kill her but couldn't bcos of her age but managed to do it later by throwing the bomb at the truck. I guess it's going to be one of his issue later on the drama.

i wanted to love this but i'm mostly really confused. and i love spy stuff :(
i just don't think Choi Kang Hee fits this role at all. i might watch more eps if the db recaps make it seem interesting. but i'm not sure if it's working for me.

I find Chansung SUPER ATTRACTIVE so seeing his role enter into episode (small part of 1) 2 I was happy. His acting seems pretty good.

Joo Won is dashing as always. And the main female's lead....well that's starting to become too typical in k-drama that she comes off as a bit boring.

Her haircut is bad but the one thing that annoys me is the obvious age difference between lead. The story would be more believable if she was an older and experienced NIS agent who got Joowon as her partner not someone who is around the same age.

I second the "wasn't that great, i'll keep watching." Something about these characters annoy me--their stated motivations/goals are at conflict with the shit they actually do in the drama. If you want to be James Bond, stop doing ridiculously stupid stuff that can get you kicked out of spy school, dude.

i love joo won dearly but the first episode really wasn't what i was expecting. no spy stuff? i'd thought they'd introduce that straight away. you could see they were going to meet through the blind date, why on earth did it take so long to get there. i've seen choi kang hee in other things and liked her, she can act, but tbh she is miscast in this role. you can tell it was written for someone younger. plus her character is your typical kdrama female lead, working a zillion part time jobs, poor, desperate for money, very hard working. everything is just so... bland.

i really wanted to like it :(

first episode was boring, the second one was like a typical kdrama episode. entertaining when you're watching it, but as soon as it's done you forget about it.

i'm gonna keep watching because of chansung and i haven't watched a kdrama in a long time. so i might as well watch this one.

i heard the lead actress is getting a lot of hate (because she doesn't ~deserve~ joo won), that's sad, she's not really attractive imo (bad haircut!!) but she's a good actress.

it would be fun if for the next posts you included the tweets and pics the actors send to each others. it seems like they get along well :)

this drama IS pretty forgettable so far. I'm hoping it gets better.

the lead actress is definitely a good actress, i just don't sense any chemistry between the two of them yet so it's hard for me to get on board with the pairing.

This looks like it'll be another typical rom-com :( I like the leads but something about this show seems off. It's supposed to be an intnentional comedy right? Because I'm laughing at the "bad" spies scenes and all I can is the emo hair.

I am really just watching this for Chansung. I haven't seen his acting yet, so I was curious, and of course, I want to gaze upon his beauteous face. As other people said, I liked the second episode more than the first (though I didn't think the 1st was bad). I really REALLY dislike the main male lead though; he's such a brat and rude, and I'm just annoyed that he's going to end up with the female lead.

Speaking of which, are there any kdramas where the second romantic interest gets the girl?

the script could be interesting - but the director is really messing things up.
The camera-work is boring, the sound is off, the lighting is lazy at best.
The scenes that are supposed to be intense are just embarrassing, the scenes that are supposed to be funny drag out. The flashback scenes are sloppy.
I might give this two more episodes to sink in, but the filmstudent in me is dying a little at all the wasted potential...
