Sunye to halt Wonder Girls activites after her wedding

Sun will no longer be a member of the Wonder Girls after the upcoming press conference for her wedding.

The Wonder Girls leader will officially stop promoting with the group after her wedding, which will be held on January 26th at 10:30PM KST at Seoul’s Lotte Hotel. Sun is marrying Korean-Canadian James Park, who she met while they were both volunteering in Haiti.

JYP Entertainment announced, “With her wedding ahead on the 26th, Sun will be completing her official promotions after the press conference. The press conference will be held two hours before her wedding.” It was also added that Sun’s fiance will not be attending the conference.

In related news, the Wonder Girls are currently reported to be preparing for solo promotions.

imho Yubin, Yenny and Sohee were born to be in the entertainment industry. Yubin could easily get herself a solo deal as a rapper, Sohee can act the hell out of every movie/drama and bring JYPE some money and Yeeun is musically gifted, she can sing amazingly well and her compositions are just incredible. Those three have a future, I'm worried about Lim, though.

It's not surprising. It's pretty normal for celebrity weddings in South Korea to be open to the media (should the celeb choose) before they walk down the isle. I remember when I first got into kpop I thought it was odd how open some celebs weddings were (pretty different to american celebs weddings) but then i realized it was quite a common thing to have press there taking pictures and asking questions and their fellow celeb attendees posing for pictures and answering the press's questions. I'm not sure if you were aware of that so I apologize if I misunderstood your comment.

Wow she really gave up everything to be with this dude. I can admire the dedication to her new role as a wife, but it kind of makes me sad. I somehow thought that she could pave a new path and be an idol and a wife simultaneously. I hope she will be really happy with her new husband. When you give up so much, there can be a strange resentment that builds up overtime but she seems confident and proud of her choice. I'm not trying to be cynical here lol. He better treat her right cause she deserves a lot!!!!!

It's fortunate that she knows English--silver lining in the disastrous U.S. promos--so now she can have a different career in Canada and maybe go back to school.

It's shocking and not- She's at an age where a lot of girls are getting married and, lets be honest, idol careers are no guarantee so I'm glad she's found a positive way to elave kpop while she's still young enough to start something new. I hope leaving WG doesn't mean she stops singing- it'd be cool if she occasionally popped up now and then... Still, all the best to her and her fiance~! I wonder how long before a baby shows up??

Well, now I'm just sad. End af an era right here. No matter what happens to WG from here on, even if they eventually reunite, it will be a different group entirely without her. But she definitely deserves all the happiness in the world and I hope she finds it.

i'm happy they let her do what she wants with her life and that she's happy with the choice she made (i guess).
but still wow damn...
i'm not even a die hard WG fan but i really liked them and i'm just sad now... Does this announce an upcoming disband and they will all just go solo (noooo...) or will this be WG as 4 (but damn Sunye was the main vocal) or are they planning on adding a new vocal member...?
