enrique geum, let me hugs you! shin hye is so pretty in this drama and her character is so real, there's lots of people in real life who are just like go dok mi peacock unnie is annoying, lol she's so ridiculous kim ji hoon you sexy guy enrique's doctor bro is hot
oh yay ep 4 is up!!!!!!!! i wasnt watching ep 3 until ep 4 came up
and that poll i can't really fill out because i am very much like her and i do avoid people but i actually like cannot NOT leave my house since i go to college and have to like leave my dorm. if i could not do all those things i would (which is funny bc what i want to do in life requires people)
but she is the best i love her probs cos i can relate so much
a lot of people seem to be liking it so far! I definitely am. it's a rom-com, and heavy on the comedy so far so if you're looking for something lighter after School 2013 it'd definitely be good.
I do too-this drama is more like Flower Boy Band in tone but the thing that I like about the flower boy dramas is that even though they are kind of exaggerated the people feel real and their lives look lived in
Shin Hye is doing great. Enrique really grew on me. brother is hot. neighbor is annoying but kind of cute? annoying girl from Heartstrings continues to be annoying, flashy girl from Gumiho continues to be useless.
if i had my way i would be living alone and working from home like Dok Mi. if there were a gym in my building and grocery store on the ground floor i would be set for life. but my industry sometimes requires me to yell at people for a living lmao
i think the neighbor (Rak Jin is it?) is going to get annoying if he stays on this "why is HE getting all the attention?!" path. I hope he doesn't get sulky/whiny cause... ew.
lol I would love it if my building had an attached grocery/convenience store...
I'm really loving this drama so far! There's tons of comedy (some true laugh irl moments!), but they still manage to make the serious parts have real weight.
Dok Mi's character being so easy to relate to (hence the poll) makes me just that much more invested in what she's going through/thinking.
I really love how all the characters play off one another. Some are opposites so they highlight each other's personalities, and some of them are exactly the same just in different ways.
I'm waiting to see what's going to drive the story though. The overarching plot is obvious Dok Mi going from being a hermit to a normal social person, but what situation are they going to use to drive that? I'm thinking since they're all artisty-writer types they might end up working together some how?
I love this drama especially Dok-mi and Enrique’s conversations. So he can really read her mind or just that perceptive? Why did those bullies keep Dok-mi's phone number for? Any idea who is the nice guy drawing post-it for Dok-mi?
I was actually more leaning towards Jin Rak and Dok Mi after the first two episodes but his "I saw her first!!!" rub me the wrong way. Dude it's been three years and you're barely saying hello, you don't get extra points because you've known her longer. I hope the name change is not because we'll have another chaebol son on our hands.
The bullying storyline will start to get frustrating really fast if we don't get a hint of anything soon. I'm really not sure where they can take it.
I miss the webtoon boss! And I love how no one seems to ever work.
love this drama. i wish i had had the patience to wait until it was over before i started... it's torture to wait for new episodes. i think rather than any love line story, what i like about this drama is that i can definitely relate to dokmi :)
While it's torture this way, it's a lot more fun too because you get to discuss it with people while it's going on. :P The last time I did this was for Reply 1997. Ah, the waiting. Fun timez.
Unpopular opinion: I like the two leads individually, but as a pairing...they do nothing for me. Ugh, it's like Ramen Shop all over again in terms of me not caring for the OTP. I think I'm gonna wait till this one is near over to continue watching it.
it's good to see a female lead who is not obnoxiously upbeat and it's good to see a male lead who (so far) isn't a complete douche. it seems like their relationship will be the more realistic "friends first" deal rather than this completely out of nowhere, all chips on the table sort of thing.
short answer: it's definitely restoring my faith in kdramas
I haven't reached episode 4. Thus far, I love how Go Dok Mi and Enrique are such a fresh of breath air when it comes to lead characters. In such a short amount of time, they are extremely believable and multidimensional
i really like dok mi. she feels REAL. not super upbeat or super weepy or super innocent like the usual kdrama girls---there's a genuine quality to her awkward and i love it! i think the bullying storyline could get really interesting and insightful if they do it right. enrique makes her brave---she can be frank with him. he's good for her and i think she's good for him. not as lovers right now, i cant really see it, but def as friends. ALSO HER MONOLOGUES REALLY SPEAK TO ME! that bit about lies protecting the truth?! ugh, get out of my head dok mi!
i think her relationship with enrique is really sweet. i like how they're set up to be friends instead of falling automatically in love with each other----it's really refreshing! also, so far enrique seems like a really kind dude---not the usual kdrama asshole. i love his manic pixie dream boy silliness! he seems genuinely interested in her feelings and getting to kno her better as a person and friend instead of a love interest. i like how he respects her request for space because she is uncomfortable with how much he knows about her even tho he doesn't agree with her.
ugh---a man respecting a woman's wishes. when was the last time i saw that in a drama?! i love it! this drama is refreshing in so many ways!
DNW jin rak. he's ridiculously possessive and i find it kinda creepy. he suffers hardcore from the "nice guy" syndrome and in these last few episodes he's coming off as a jerk. he doesn't kno anything about her and yet he's already decided that she's the girl of his dreams? he seems more interested in the IDEA of her than actually getting to kno her as a person. TEXT BOOK NICE GUY. jin rak not having enough courage to speak to dok mi is no excuse. when he tried to say she wasnt the "type" to stay out over night and got mad when that mean girl suggested it was a good thing...smh...dnw dnw dnw. which is a shame because i thought he was so adorably grumpy and awkward in the beginning.
i love how his friend calls him out on looking for a "nobel peace prize winner" for a lover! ahahahaha!
also, who sings the ending theme for this drama?! i hate it!
I havent seen EP4 (getting to it soon!) But enrique in ep3 DD: i really felt for him, especially as he was trying so hard to keep up this happy facade :/
AND OMG THE CUTENESS THAT IS JIN RAK GETTING JEALOUS xD loved it.
After ep 4, I'm still rooting for Enrique and Dokmi. <3 Ah, Enrique, that perceptive kid. Some people might see his ways as being too pushy, but I believe that Dokmi herself is open to this pushiness (even though she tried to backtrack and avoid it in the last ep when she felt Enrique was getting too close to the real her), which is why I don't feel like he's doing anything that's hurting Dokmi.
The ending of the fourth ep though. I don't know what's going to happen to them after that.
Also, another decisive mark against Jinrak for me. His idea of who Dokmi is still a very idealized version of her. I do feel sorry for him because he's gentle with Dokmi (when he's not losing his temper lmao) and seems to genuinely like her, but with the attitude he's showing ("I saw her first!" and "Why does everything come easily to Enrique?"), he's solidifying my otp even more.;;
What will make this a real challenge would be once he wakes up from his daydream, sees the real Dokmi, falls for the real Dokmi, and works up the nerve to fight for her and actually get to know her apart from a few words.
Oh and Cha Do Hwi. So annoying. The only downside to watching this drama so far. She annoys me so much I have the urge to skip any scenes that have her in it. But since I know she's going to be essential to the plot, argh.
omg I finally got time to watch it. I've just finished episode 3. At first I thought the one giving her the milk was Jin Rak but after reading some of your comments, I'm really hoping is Tae Joon(?)
