KBS2TV‘s ‘School 2013‘ will not be extended with more episodes.

Usually, when a drama gets popular, producers will decide to extend the drama with more episodes beyond the original plans. However, despite the popularity of ‘School 2013′, the producers have decided to end ‘School 2013′ with the originally planned 16 episodes and instead release a special episode.

Representatives from the drama stated, “Instead of extending with more episodes, ‘School 2013′ will be airing the special broadcast, ‘School 2013 Special – Let’s Go To School’ (name subject to change).”

The staff members are currently in talks of the fine details of ‘Let’s Go To School‘. The staff members stated, “Even though it is not confirmed, we are planning to either air the un-aired cuts or to have a small stage as a talk concert with fans.”

‘School 2013′ will be ending on the 28th with its 16th episode, and the special will air on the 29th.

Episode 12 is a smiling feast for me, I must say. I've been smiling and squee-ing like an idiot through out the episode. Kang Joo and Ha Kyung, Namsoon, Heungsoo + Jung Ho (lol), Class 2 students and Teacher Jung. Ahhh my feels <3 But, the end of Episode 12 is... noooooooooooooo!



 And to be honest, I want more episodes of School 2013 so I'm sad that they're not extending it. ;_____;  How about you guys?

the last episode was so cute. my favorite scene was lunch time where the three boys ate together. lol.

i would love more episodes. but at the same time, i can understand wanting to keep it short and simple. i wish they'd show behind the scenes stuff for the special :)

Although I'm an avid reader of slash and all for Brokeback Mountain shenanigan especially with attractive people, I'm frowning at all the people who dismiss this show with "omg gays and lesbians everywurr omg" attitude - this was more blatant after the last episode with Kangju and Hakyung in the same bed when they make up. It's NOT weird for girls to lie in same bed or boys to cry after making up with a long-lost friend. Jeez, unless they start making out in the middle of the show don't be so quick to assume that they have repressed sexual desires for each other (not that that's bad, but there are so many people who scoff at the entire show solely for those reasons. there's so much more to this show!).

With that said, I would have liked slower transition for Heungsoo into their past friendship instead of diving right into being all besties with Namsoon again but they did drag it out for quite somewhile so I can't complain. Ahhh KWB looks so cute when he smiles.

With Minki... I don't think the international audience will quite get the dilemma he and his mother are going through. In fact, everyone on this show, as evil or frustrating they seem, have their own situation that makes the audience cringe but nod in understanding - because it's so realistic to Koreans.
I do think it will be more dramatic if he does jump but seeing how the show is sponsored by the Dept of Education they might not be so violent with the characters, lest the students in similar situation follow the same.

Even though I think it's fun to think about a Heung Soo/Nam Soon ship, I agree. Male friendships in Korea from what I know of the culture are MUCH different than say the US. There's an strong sense of love/brotherhood that's expressed through hugs, tears, etc. and all of that is very normal in a platonic male-male friendship.

As for the girls in the same bed... I've shared a bed with friends plenty of times at sleepovers, so I don't get where they're finding the "omg lesbians!" idea haha.

I didn't mind the transition for Heung Soo so much, because when Nam Soon sat down at lunch he did resist a bit. He complained that it was awkward, but Nam Soon insisted on staying. I think the weirdness of Jung Ho sitting with them surprised them enough that they forgot about their issues for second, and just were just friends. KWB is flat out adorable when he smiles. I have a bad fangirl crush on him <333.

Hmmm I agree if it's sponsered by a government body they might go milder.

There is a direct correlation with the kind of parenting and societal pressures in Korea and the rate of youth suicide and that needs to be addressed directly if it's ever going to be changed. You can say that Korean parents mean well and culturally are meant to be obeyed because they are the ones working and providing and often really do have the kids best interest at heart and that Koreans have different ideas about relationships and how they function, but that isn't going to help a kid who is suffering by any means.

like my last comment on a School 2013 discussion thread... this will be my rambling about the episode.

I can legit SEE the pain Minki is going through having to deal with his mom, even when he's not saying anything. The actor is really doing a good job imo. That said, I also hope he goes through with the suicide attempt for realism sake. I don't want him to die obviously, but it's realistic that he would actually do it, AND realistically his mom needs a MAJOR event to even have a chance of snapping out of her current behavior.

I really liked the little bit of extras we got about that girl who's always talking back to Jung Ho/his lackeys. The one that hates Ha Kyung? This episode really explains why she's such a bitch most of the time. She's probably studying twice as hard as Ha Kyung, and still falling short. Putting a lot of effort into something, but only getting mediocre results really wears on a person, so I actually feel for her character now.

I loooooooved the lunch scene when Jung Ho sat down with Heung Soo and Nam soon!! It's like the bad boy trifecta is now complete. They can smile and be all adorable together for the rest of the series I hope! I couldn't believe the words "fall into line behind you guys" came out of Jung Ho's mouth though. The looks Heung Soo and Nam Soon gave each other while Jung Ho sat down were hilarious XD.

I really like Kang Joo's character. She seems like a really good person. She said all she needed was for Ha Kyung to say "I'm sorry" and once Ha Kyung did she really let all the bad stuff go. I just hope that Ha Kyung actually LEARNED something from this experience. I want her character to grow, and not stay flat :(.

There was TOTALLY a hint at a love line between Kang Teacher and Jung Teacher when he complained that she only responds to the student's texts. I thought it was cute, and I like that his attraction to her is probably based on the way she does her job. He admires her dedication to connecting to the students on a personal level, and that's the attraction, as oppose to say her looks and/or the fact she needs protecting.

Speaking of Jung Teacher's looks, can I just say I hate 95% of the clothes she wears? Ugh I can't stand them!!!

I loved Episode 12!!! there was a lot of drama but people made up and i really wanted to punch Min Ki's mother.. I mean look what happened to his older brother who never leaves the room, you think she would learn. Just saw the preview and it does seems like he does jump in episode 13, which if the drama wants to portray real life and the stress the kids go through from school and parents, I don`t want to sound mean but i think he should jump and get injured to show his mother the stress she put him through.

Namsoon is pretty much being a big brother to class 2. His gentleness towards Young Woo and Min Ki, his concern towards Teacher Jung and Kang Joo+Ha Kyung and of course as the class' protector from Oh Jung Ho (the scene where he shouted 'Yah Oh Jung Ho!!!' was afjaogkrag) I'm falling in love again and again and again for Go Nam Soon ;___;

And everyone was so sweet towards Teacher Jung. At first I was mad at most of them for rejecting her but they're so sweet for finding and wanting her back, confessing to her and such.

Episode 12 is the best ever (the post's title was lacking in 'ver', I'm sorry for that, lol). I feel like screencap-ing most of the scenes and frame them up and hang them on my wall.

This episode gave me so much smiles and giggles. I adore the lunch table scene. I also adore the scene where Heung Soo was like "Thats mine" and Nam Soo's face was LOL.

Hooray for Ha Kyung finally realizing that her pride isn't worth a loyal friend!!

I am so excited to watch the next episode because i really want to see how delusional min ki's mom really is.

I can't stop laughing when Jungho join NS+HS during lunch scene. Their reaction is so funny. Bet Byun Ki Duk is all jealous because JH eating with his HS hyungnim...
And at NS reaction when HS just coolly claim his homework...priceless!!!
I'm glad that HK & KJ make up and being friends again.

I can't wait for tonight episode but at the same time kinda nervous anticipating what would happen to Minki. I mean, I want his mom to like totally regret driving him & his brother crazy but I don't want him to die in this drama. Urghhh... I feel so bad for wanting it is not a cop out.

This was my favourite episode too! filled with laughs, tears, and much anticipation for the next episode! Even 2 minutes into the episode i bursted out into laughter when namsoon yelled jungho's name, i thought he would ask him to leave or something but instead he asked him for his notes. everyones reaction were priceless.

i also hope that minki does jump for realism sake but even if he does, i think there's a possibility that his mom won't even wake up and see that it is all her fault. she'll probably put the blame on jung saem's teachings for his actions. I character like her's doesn't easily put the blame on herself. but i really hope she does see that what she is doing is wrong. i totally feel with minkis character, though not to that extent, but the feeling of having your parents not agree with your dream, because it isn't a sure money bringer, is really a horrible feeling. Minkis mom says that it's all for his sake but in the end i feel like it's all for her sake.

speaking of----i'm currently watching shut up flower boy band (as per suggestions from omona) and i'm really enjoying it!

this drama is ALMOST perfect. it suffers a bit from some bad acting and poorly (like really, SOOOOO POORLY) written female characters. i kinda wish that if they were gonna be THAT lazy they should've just focused on the friendship of the boys and hardships of the entertainment industry instead of these weak ass (and kinda annoying) love stories.

Well then watch School 2013, it is all friendship, and no romance. The first 5 episodes were the most exciting, it has gotten a little slower now but I still enjoy it.
