I wouldn't go that far, but I've listened to the original so much it's nice just to get a new version, and she knows what she's doing so when the syllables work a bit different here it still sounds good and rhythmic.
He's a good singer and did better there than before, but also kinda lifeless as a performer and though the arrangement was nice it's a bit predictable and loses the casual coolness of the original.

I agree on the part about that it's kind of predictable and a bit boring. I think he's used to singing how it's arranged and being so perfect about it like JYP pointed out. Not completely lifeless for me though. He has the feeling for it though he's lol, really ~modest and quiet which makes him look like he doesn't care much (although that might also be due to the fact that he sang the guide song for Only One anyway welp)
I mean, I can see why he's still in the competition. He has a really damn nice voice (imo) and the advantage of having the most experience, but he never got to do what he came to Korea for. YG said at his audition that it doesn't matter how old he is as long as he is willing to put in the hard work and hopes that he could encourage people who are older like him who want to be an artist to go out and try. He said that this would be his last shot and I think both him and the judges are trying to see how far he can go in the show.
I love this song in korean, japanese, english. Want BOA to do an english version. Andrew rocked the song in english though I'm kinda meh with the arrangement.
I prefer the Korean version better only because the chorus in this Japanese version really bothers me. It feels very forced, as if the language and the song just aren't getting along naturally. Besides the chorus, you know BoA gon' own dis shit she fabu as fuq.
