‘Strong Heart’ rumoured to be cancelled, Lee Dong Wook to leave show

SBS’ ‘Strong Heart‘ might be canceled after a 3-year-3-month run.

Reports are saying that the show’s producer Park Sang Hyuk is recording his last episode on the 17th and will leave the show to study abroad. It’s also been confirmed that current co-hos Lee Dong Wook, and possibly Shin Dong Yup, will be leaving the show.

With these new developments, there are rumors floating around that the talk show has been canceled all together. An insider from SBS commented, “It looks like ‘Strong Heart’ will be canceled. Though there are negotiations going on for a relaunch, considering that the follow-up program has nearly been confirmed, it’s likely that it’ll get cancelled.”

Lee Dong Wook’s camp commented, “After recent talks about the show’s relaunch, the final decision has been made [for Lee Dong Wook to leave 'Strong Heart']. He’ll be returning to his work as an actor.”

There are no confirmed details about what program will likely take over the show’s time slot, and it’s undecided whether ‘Strong Heart’ will move on with its relaunch or whether it will be canceled permanently.

The show has been a sinking ship since Hodong left, so it's not surprising that it might be cancelled. Not to mention the fact that they've been in last place for ratings in their time slot, too.

Poor Eunhyuk's shows are getting cancelled one by one. First, Come to Play and now this.

Not surprised at all. The show just isn't as entertaining as it once was. Shin Dong Yup and Lee Wook tried and they did a very decent job but I think Ho Dong and Seung Gi were such good hosts and they had a fantastic way of interacting with the guests.

Some of my favorite stories have come from Strong Heart. I will never, NEVER, forget the Bora Bora story Yunho told on the King of Talking episode. It was SO epic! Where else will we get stories like that?

I like this show because of people's stories - especially when it has non-idol guests and introduces new people. :) Sad to see it go, but I think it's run a long time and the format can't really change much anyway.

It's time, I say. The show was in its prime when it was Ho Dong and Seung Gi MCing, and it's long past that. Time to let it go. (But even in its prime, I always preferred the more intimate Win Win.)

The show wasn't the same after Kang Ho Dong and Lee Seung Gi left. the current 2 hosts are decent, but it felt like a lukewarm uninteresting talk show compared to its previous boisterous self. I actually enjoyed KBS' Win Win more nowadays.
