Episode 11 (ENG SUB)

Episode 11 recap (via Dramabeans)

link to Episode 10 discussion post on omona

(yes, i stalker-clicked and chose a bunch at random). the bottom two go with this blurb from akp:

On January 3rd, Choi Chang Yup [OP note: Minki] uploaded the pictures above onto his Twitter and along with it wrote, “At Jonghyun-hyung’s place.”

Kim Jong Hyun [OP note: Jong Hyun] also wrote on his Twitter saying, “My friends from classroom 2 came over today. Ultra, best, great, giant, super, best feeling. I have to go to school tomorrow so I should sleep early tonight,” referring to his co-stars and returning to filming for ‘School 2013′.

Kim Woo Bin wonders whether to accept Lee Jong Suk’s apology/apple

Actor Kim Woo Bin brought smiles with his post on me2day.

The actor recently uploaded the picture above and along with it wrote, “Go Nam Soon, should I accept your apology[or apple]?“, as to mirror the tension between the characters depicted in their drama.

It seems the two actors, who are known to have developed a bond while working on this project, were goofing around on the filming set as Kim Woo Bin is wearing the school uniform he wears for ‘School 2013‘ and is debating whether to accept Go Nam Soon’s (played by Lee Jong Suk) apple.

This is a play on words because the Korean word for apology is sa-gwa which is a homonym for apple. Fans commented, “You guys should win the best couple award,” “Make up and become friends,” and ”This what you call playing hard to get!”

‘The Horse Healer’ and ‘School 2013′ both suffer a drop in viewer ratings

Both of MBC and KBS‘s Monday-Tuesday drama suffered a drop in viewership ratings.

According to information released by AGB Nielsen Media Research, the January 7th broadcast of MBC’s ‘The Horse Healer‘ recorded a nationwide viewer rating of 16.6%. This is a 1.5% decrease from its previous episode, but it has still managed to come out on top among competing dramas in its time slot.

KBS’s ‘School 2013‘ also faced a similar situation as the drama’s latest episode received a viewership rating of 13.1%. In comparison, last week’s episode garnered 15.2%.

On the otherhand, SBS‘s ‘The Lord of Dramas‘ recorded 6.7% in nationwide ratings, a 0.1% increase from its previous episode.

this ep WAS juuuust right.
like the porridge for Goldilocks. :)
rewatched it just now on the way to work and I really liked the pacing. The NS/HS couple shines more when they are placed into the background and supporting other actors.

Ugh the music during the last scene with Kang/Jung Teacher was AWFUL. It really took me out of the intensity of the moment, so instead of feeling bad for Jung Teach I was thinking "... really? THIS music?"

The ending killed me too. I want to be like Teacher Jung, but I'll probably turn out to be like Teacher Kang. Through work, I'm learning how little patience I have.

Suspending realism for a moment, I can't believe those ass-hats known as children did not object! My heart sunk as she realized the truth and she wasn't bitter. This is one of the times when I wish Se Chan turned up the rudeness level.

They had the option of keeping both! And yet?

Ugh I'm so annoyed with teenagers right now.

This is going to be me rambling about different parts of the episode lol. No particle organization is used.

Episode 11 definitely was better than 10. I'm very glad the show is picked up again, but honestly if feels like they could have cut out ep 10, and just skipped to 11 haha.

Anyway~ I'm glad we've had a major break through with Nam Soon/Heung Soo. I'm interested to see if they start acting like friends, or if Heung Soo still keeps his distance? I prefer them to just be friends now, but either way they are on their way to recovery.

I felt terrible for Kang Joo after the writing contest issue. They're basically making her feel worthless in favor of the smartest kids. She probably had felt really happy and proud that they chose her, and then they just stomped on her heart like that...

Jung Ho is starting to break my heart. He's an obnoxious asshole most of the time, but like he said "school hated me from the beginning". I'm sure he was never given a chance. People tend to do what others expect from them, and people have expected him to be the bully/gangster from Day 1.

I really feel bad for Jung Ho's lackey Ji Hoon. That kid wants so desperately to make something of himself, but not even his "friends" are supporting him? All he's got is Teacher Jung :(. I really want to see him succeed <3!

I'm not sure what's going on with Kang and Jung Teacher? The end of the episode seemed REALLY dramatic. Like WAY too dramatic. My drama senses were all thrown off too, because usually when a male lead grabs a female like that as she's walking away, it's a romantic thing... but I don't think this was romantic? It really confusing for me as a kdrama watcher.

I'm starting to have occasional Kang Teacher feels...? This is also confusing. When he's annoying Nam Soon/Heung Soo... he's so cute LOL! I don't understand it.

Minki's mom continues to piss me off. She's so condescending anytime she talks to Minki. I think at 17-18 it's legitimate to believe he knows what he wants to do with his life. So in other words, back the f*** off Minki omma! Let him live.

Hakyung is just... bleh. Get over yourself girl. You aren't learning anything so far.

gosh. Loving ep11 so much. There are some development regarding other characters along with my OTP. This ep brings so many feels!!!!!!

- Luch date huh? Nicee.... I squee when Heungsoo told Uhmforce that he+Namsoon are friends. That is like...love declaration in other standard Kdrama!!! Finally you guys...

- I'm loving Teach Sechan more than I thought I would. He such an ass in earlier episode but I'm loving his smartassery especially when dealing with the Principals and his knuckleheads students... When he said 'follow ME', I wants to follow him too.

- I afraid what would happen to Minki. His mom is such a b#tch! I can't believed that she learn nothing after what happened to Minki's bro. pfffttt.

I love Teacher Sechan's smartassery too. You can tell his character just LOVES being a smartass too.

I really am fed up with Minki's mom. I really thought she would have learned something from what happened before too. Something needs to shock her into realizing what she's doing in wrong.

Jihoon is becoming one of my fave characters in this drama :c I hope everything works out for him sighs.

I'm annoyed that no one stood up for Teacher Jung but the announcement just had really bad timing. I'm also annoyed all the kids are blaming Jungho for their bad grades like he interrupted like one or two questions in that listening test your grades didn't end up like that only due to that /PLEASE/. Although it's easier to blame others I suppose. I just feel bad for Jungho :C Although he did treat them badly :c sighs

I've loved Daniel Choi in this role ever since the beginning, and I'm glad he took the job. He also has great chemistry with Jang Nara.
Good episode all around, some breakthroughs finally with Heung Soo and Jung Ho, and facing some conflicts which have slowly been building up. Park Teach doesn't make the best teacher, but her idealistic ways give hope and strength to those who can find no way out, most notably Teacher Kang. That strength is what they need to overcome tougher challenges, something that only studying won't provide.

also these drama posts help spread the word and invite more people to watch the drama!

I loved Daniel Choi in this role and his character from the beginning. And I really like his character's development. He was a bit heartless and kept his distance from the students, but I can completely understand him. While I disliked the fact Teacher Jung was way too good and kinda incompetent of opposing both the principle, parents and also students.
The ending of the 11th episode was too much honestly.. And that line 'You are... [enter:/thewomanilove/loveofmylife/etc] the teacher I always wanted to become..' Really? And the background music isn't helping guys.
I kinda do ship them and wouldn't mind writers pairing them up, though I don't see how would that fit on the show..

And as I said in previous post, I think Jung Wook is doing terrific job portraying Jung Ho. It seems I like the most disliked charters in this drama, lol. But anyway, I'm glad we are getting to know more about him. His story started rolling up in first few episodes and then Heung Soo appeared and they kinda threw it under the carpet. That line 'School disliked me from the beginning' really hit it.

We finally got a Nam Soon/Heung Soo reconciliation. I honestly think the writers did a great (as real as possible) job with their story. Nam Soon crushed Heung Soo's dreams after all, and that isn't something that could be resolved in like.. 2 episodes.

Lol I feel the same way about the end of the episode. They went a little too melodramatic for that scene. I believe he wants to be more like her... but those words and that MUSIC eek.

Jung Wook is doing an awesome job. I really hope he gets a lead role sometime in the future, because he seems like a fantastic actor.

I love this drama. I often feel with kdrama that they start lagging around ep 8-10, and try drawing out storylines over episodes, before getting back to a decent pace around the last three eps. But with School 2013, there are various interesting storylines every episode. I never feel 'let's just get this ep over with.'

That said, I'm glad the Namsoon/Heungsoo plot is somewhat concluded. Purely because I'm so much more interested in seeing what happens to Minki, Jungho, Kangjoo, Jihoon and Hakyung. (can you tell I voted for 'more secondary characters'?)

I really like how... unbiased the series is with it's portrayal of the various sides of stories. I can totally relate with everyone's problems - I can tell why Minki's mum is leaning on the principal, why the principal in so harsh on Jung, why Jung is unwilling to leave anyone in the class behind, and why the top students are unable to accept it, etc.
It's frustrating to watch, but at the same time I find it very realistic. Everyone just doing what they think is best.

I also find the lack of lovelines very refreshing. Like, the line at the end with Kang and Jung ; I know a lot of people were hoping for more, but I was glad to see a relationship that showed a man and a woman can respect and admire each other with out it being romantic. (altho I feel that could develop into more.)

Sooo much feels for this drama. I'm in a emotional roller coaster with NS and HS lol.

I really like how this drama shows the importance of education outside of the SATs and such.
It sucks that Universities mainly rely on tests and how well you do on that, more than academic growth and overall growth as a moral human being.
Fortunately, I never decided to be in a University that requires testing (I never studied lol) as I really enjoy discussions and learning about the material. Tests are just so pointless for me...I memorize and forget...

But I seriously really do like the collaborate of Kang saem and Jung saem.
I really like Jung saem's care and wanting students to understand the material, not just memorize. But because she puts so much care on few students, the rest of the students end up being lost. While with Kang saem, I think his tactics of allowing test material to be memorized in a interesting way is a nice way as well. But in tern, if you don't understand the questions, it's like ...wth is going on lol.

I wish the students realize that it is important to study for the test.
But it's important to take a deep breath and absorb the material at times.
I remember I studied better when I just watched Korean dramas on my finals week cause it relaxed my brain more than anything.

Anyway...I'm kinda glad the conflicts are dragging. Because these conflicts don't get fixed in a episode or two. We all have issues and even though we know it's not positive and affects us negatively, it can take more than years to realize how and what to do to fix it.

Jung Ho is really unfortunate in a sense that he never had that guide in the first place.
When you're subjected in a certain category, you continue to believe you're only worth that, even though you're more than that.
It's like with depression...you have to get it treated, but for a person whose depressed, getting the treatment isn't an option...you think that nothing's going to get better and it's the same.

I just hope Jung Ho really realizes that school didn't abandon him and that school is always there for him to help him out to a better life.

Episode 10 was like full of fanservice. I was really expecting a scene where the two just "accidentally" kiss or something.

So I'm starting to dislike Ha Kyung so much. I think she such a brat. I understand how disheartening it feels when you work so hard and someone who is hardly working achieves more than you. But Kangjoo is still her friend. Its like she's only friend with Kang Joo to combat her loneliness/loner status.

I'm ecstatic that Min Ki is trying to rebel from his mom. But I also feel really bad for him. :(

I also hate how the writer are rocking the boat. I dont think the drama need a love-line and they keep hinting at it. I mean seriously. I don't think the boys have a enough time to fall in love with girls with the constant problems that arise. I wish they would stop it and focus more on the PROBLEMS. I rather have them not do the love arcs completely and focus more on the other characters.

I actually like how they keep alluding to the romance without making it full blown, and think it's more realistic. I know these kids have problems, but they ARE teenagers, and teenagers spend a ton of time thinking about relationships/love. I think it'd be unrealistic to have them totally ignoring it.

finally got around to watch the episode and ashdjaklds so many feels! i feel especially bad for minki, basically like everyone else seems to do too. i hope he'll be ok :(

tbh, i'm rooting for kangjoo/namsoon to end up together, they're so cute together! i really don't care for hakyung, she's been pretty unlikable for me ever since the beginning and her haughty attitude is just really grating imo..

anyway, heungsoo and namsoon ftw and i hope jung teacher gets her optimism back, it's so sad seeing her losing her spark :(
