‘Running Man’ to Hold a Two-Nation Race in Asia in Early 2013

SBS’ Running Man is taking its race and missions overseas once more.

SBS’ variety department revealed on January 3 the show is currently working on a special episode, set to take place abroad, titled, ‘Running Man in Asia’.

Described as a tour race, the show’s producers are said to be finalizing approximately two countries to hold the special race in, as well the other details, before filming sometime in early 2013

The department added the show’s popularity abroad in other Asian countries continued to take the show by surprise as it continued to receive countless invitations and offers to film in various places abroad.

With the show and its cast enjoying high popularity abroad, the show’s producers added it expected the special would receive favorable response from fans.

The popular variety show has, in the past, filmed episodes in places like China and Thailand.

excited for this but honestly speaking I am so damn sick of how scripted Running Man is now like they dont even care if it's obvious either and its so annoying how they let certain guests win, groups accomplish missions that they didn't really accomplish, set up jokes, etc. Ik every show is scripted to some point but jfc it didn't use to be like with the first episodes. =/

i can see how they've set up the games for the guests to win but i don't really get why people say it's scripted all the time. besides the intros, i can't tell what's been scripted. you'd think if it were scripted, it'd be funnier but it isn't. what's more, the term 'scriptwriter' is used differently in Korea anyway.

although it's pretty much the consensus among fans that RM hasn't been funny for a while. i don't even keep with it anymore unless it's a guest i'm interested in

idek how to explain it but it just a lot of things that happen seem way too coincidental sometimes to not be scripted. the parts were they tease each other or have short convos with one another are good and do t feel as scripted but a lot it just feels really fake to me. smetimes they dont even show how the groups are created like they used to so obvs the writers pick that and it's just not the same as it once was imo. basically all the eps joongki was in felt fine it was a bit after that when it just didn't work the same anymore. plus the missions are so boring nowadays and the whole show relies on missions and them running from one place to another more than it does on the chasing, which was the fun part.

and same with me, but the set up of the show bothers me so much that I have to like the guest a whole lot, bscly stan them, for me to watch their episode, otherwise I don't bother. when in the past I watched very single eps regardless of who the guest was.

I understand what you mean, the hide and seek was my favorite part...i even used to stream RM but now i watch it only when an ace guest gets invited. The show kind of lost me when top actors started guesting, some of them did a poor job on the show and it seemed like the show changed things to let them win :/

a few recent eps have been surprisingly funny but aside from that ia and it makes me so sad because most of the earlier eps had me crying from laughter and now i'm usually just like :|
a lot of the time too i feel like the guests themselves aren't really that funny esp like high profile actors so they have to improvise but idk it's just lost its magic!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This will probably be awesome. I enjoyed the other overseas episodes, so I am excited for this. I hope there are no guests - but that is a long shot - so I hope that they will at least invite some funny ones.

I do hope they change the format a little bit when it comes to making groups. I am a little bit annoyed how they always put Sukjin, Kwangsoo and Jihyo together and they get about 5 minutes of screen time combined.
