omonatheydidPark Myung Soo won Daesang at the ‘2012 MBC Entertainment Awards‘ held on the 29th. This is his first MBC Daesang.
His touching reflections on his 20 years as a comedian were one of the highlights of the evening. Park Myung Soo stated, “I am holding in my tears right now. This is an award I’ve dreamed about all my life. This year will be my 20th year working for MBC. In reality, I’ve never rested for more than one week. I am proud of myself. As I work with rookie comedians, I remember who I was twenty years ago. I was given this award because I’ve worked hard throughout my life. Because the world has become a better place, rookie comedians can rise up quicker than twenty years.”
He continued, “I wanted to tell my wife who says it’s her doing if I receive this award. This is not 50%, but all 100% because of my wife. I love you.”
Park Myung Soo has been making waves as an MC for various MBC programs this year including ’Infinity Challenge‘, ‘I Am A Singer 2‘, ‘Magic Concert‘, ‘Quiz Show Q‘, ‘Fall In Comedy‘, and ‘Undercover Boss Returns‘.

Date: 2012-12-30 05:30 am (UTC)it was a great speech but i wish he'd said something about MBC's shitty management like park misun did. i fear for the future of MBC's variety department. it's obvious that the show was biased towards radio star even though infinity challenge is clearly the #1 program. with the park geunhye administration in place, i don't think this year is gonna be any easier for the variety department.

I do think that Infinite Challenge have more fans than RS have but I don't think MBC would want to give it to a show that forced them to repeat old episodes over and over again for months.

They might be biased because of what happened before with Infinite Challenge.
Either way, I think they deserve the award too. Like I said, their rating has been really good and it's increasing. Responses from viewers have also been getting more positive each week recently. MBC has been cutting a lot of shows, even Come To Play which was a well known show. And imo, IC and RS are the shows that MBC will never want to cut them off.
IC got their award last year I think so maybe this time it's Radio Star's turn.
Who knows what will happen later....maybe next year IC will get their award back.

Date: 2012-12-30 07:23 am (UTC)not only those, the hosts associated with RS won the important awards too. kim jaechul hates IC and other liberal PDs so he's been trying to contain them. i think IC's lucky bc it's a HUGE show unlike the other little variety shows that have been mercilessly cut off. there will be public outrage if MBC screws IC up. the higher ups can't be obvious about their politicking so they can only use petty means like these to express their disdain towards IC
