Why haven’t we heard any news of their comeback yet?

As major girl groups announce their comebacks one after another, 2NE1 has attracted much interest as they have been the only ones to remain silent.

Previously, 2NE1 actually planned to release a new song soon after their ‘I Love You’ promotional activities and return to the domestic stage. However, due to limitations caused by the ‘New Evolution’ global tour schedule such as the members’ physical problems etc, it was decided that they would release their new album in October instead. Soon after, the news came that the release of this new album would be postponed to November but since then, there has not been any news of their comeback and the curiosity of fans is growing.

Until now, it has not been decided when 2NE1 will make their comeback. Since starting off with the concert in Seoul in July until December 1, their first global tour ‘New Evolution’ have attracted a total of 200 thousand fans. They are now taking a rest and are immersed in the preparations for their new album. 2NE1, who has always been committed to concepts that feature unconventional music has been reported to have come up with fresh material again this time round, and also have been working closely with staff for the previews. They are also preparing to embark on another tour next summer.

A YGE representative says, “2NE1 is resting from their busy world tour schedule. While the songs are still works in progress, 2NE1 is in the midst of preparing a comeback with songs of the highest quality. A specific comeback schedule has not yet been set.”

What busy schedule? Their tour was a fucking joke compared to Big Bang's and BB members still had time to do bunch of other stuff. 2NE1 members don't even write their own songs, so all they have to do is to sing and learn choreo.

Anyhow, it's super sad how much momentum they had going on last year and then it all to be wasted for fumbling efforts in Japanese market and super short "world" tour. If YG had had any sense they would have released bunch of Korean singles and a full length album this year and hopefully increased their international fandom by double. And at home Korea they could have increased their popularity so much too by placing Dara into some movie/drama, Minzy into Immortal Song 2, Bom into some fun variety, and given CL a solo single to promote.

so over this shit. like I'm not even anticipating or excited for them anymore, if they come back then good I'll listen to the album and if not then oh well. YG has basically made me bored with all this talk and nothing actually happening and I feel bad for the girls cause it's not their fault but if BB can tour so many fucking cities, while doing side activities and GD having a comeback at the same time, then idk why these girls weren't able to have a comeback when they had an easier and not as loaded tour schedule. I just really don't understand WHY they even went on a tour when they had ONE new song. YG thought bc BB's tour was doing so well the girls were gonna be the same but the fact is that they have a smaller fandom and they hadn't just released an album and a repackage album like BB had so, it was meant to not work.

the only thing YG has done is overshadow these girls imo, maybe this is not the case for the stans but I'm far more excited to see what the new group will bring, Lee Hi too, even PSY, and BB's new album that they're supposed to have next year. good luck to them though, when YG does decide to get them out of their cave I'll still support them.

Every time I read anything relating to them and the nonexistent comeback I feel really bad for them, especially Bom and Dara since they are older and YG should be getting the most out of all of them, but has for some reason decided to ignore them.

I feel like they are turning into the middle child of YG, with Big Bang before them and Lee Hi and however many new groups YG wants to debut next year. Those singers or groups in the middle tend to get shafted for groups already established or newly debuted (look at Rainbow and dsp, or 4minute and Cube).

I liked I Love You so was hoping for more stuff. YG seems to be shooting itself in the foot if they really debut too many new groups next year and postpone comebacks like 2ne1 and Gummy.

At least they still do well on the charts.

Ugh, when will YG learn that his non-existent eloquence and abundance of empty promises will no longer tide over our need for new 2NE1 music? It's bad enough that he's chucked them into a crappy cardboard box, but to try and make it sound like a mansion just pisses me off. Cut the bullshit YG, you don't think 2NE1 is going to rake in the money like BB, PSY or Hayi, so you're ignoring them until later.

Seriously, he always builds momentum and anticipation for 2NE1, but as soon as they peak, he crops it all short with a lack of new content. I'm pretty sure I'm not the only one jumping ship on YG right now, seeing the way Bom's been acting as of late. She's got it worst to be perfectly honest. Minzy+CL are still young, can pursue a career wherever. CL especially, because YG is really shoving her down our throats whenever 2NE1 is ever mentioned. Dara still has her youthful looks, and I know she'd still be able to find work in Korea as an actress, or easily go back to the Philippines. Bom on the other hand, has taken YG's crap for longer than any of them, and she's essentially going to fade into oblivion after 2NE1. Sure she could be a soloist, but it would definitely have to be under another company. Otherwise, she'll be keeping Gummy company in the YG dungeons.

All in all, YG has been disappointing me for the whole of this year. I look at BB and even Hayi promos, and they all shit on 2NE1's lackluster excuse of a comeback. So kudos to you YG, you've pretty much turned every Blackjack against you with this idiotic waiting game.
