The nominees for the Best Couple Award at the 2012 KBS Drama Awards, which will be held on December 31 at the KBS Hall, were recently released.
A total of fourteen teams will compete for the award.
Gong Yoo and Lee Min Jung and Baek Sung Hyun and Miss A’s Suzy from Big, Kim Kang Woo and Jo Yeo Jung from Haeundae Lovers, Shin Hyun Jun and Kim Jung Eun from Ooh La La Couple, Uhm Tae Woong and Lee Bo Young from The Equator Man, Joo Won and Ji Se Yeon from Bridal Mask, Song Joong Ki and Moon Chae Won from Nice Guy, and Cha Tae Hyun and After School’s UEE from Jeon Woo Chi are nominated for the award.
Joo Won and Park Ki Woong from Bridal Mask were also nominated for the award. They’re rivals in the series but actually very close. It’s quite possible for them to receive the award.
In 2010, Song Joong Ki and Yoo Ah In from Sungkyunkwan Scandal received the award.
Besides them, Kim Nam Joo and Yoo Joon Sang; Kim Sang Ho and Shim Yi Young; and Lee Hee Joon and Jo Yoon Hee from My Husband Got a Family, Lee Sang Yoon and Lee Bo Young from My Daughter is Seoyoung, and Oh Chang Seok and Hwang Seon Hee from TV Novel Dear Love are also nominated.
The winner of the Best Couple Award will be selected based on an online vote (40 percent), expert panels (30 percent), and a reporter vote (40 percent). Because the online vote is of great importance, many people are wondering who will be the winner of the award.
A spokesperson for the awards says, “There are many couples who received a lot of attention from viewers, but we only select one team based on a variety of criteria. We don’t know who’s going to win the award because there’s going to be an online vote that viewers can participate in. It’s hard to predict the winner because Song Joong Ki and Yoo Ah In from Sungkyunkwan Scandal received the award in 2010.”

Could we have another pair of bromance winners on our hands like after SKKS?! Out of the nominees, I don't think I'd mind it if they won! Then again I'm STILL fangirling over Gaksital even though it's been more than a month.

If Yoo In Na/Ji Hyun Woo were nominated for Queen In-hyun's Man I might say let them win, but I guess they aren't on the list cause they were a cable show.

That drama is one of the best acted & written dramas from last year and the only drama on par with it this year imo would be Gaksital. Yes, there are many good drama this year but not many even touch the brilliant quality of The Princess' Man. :)

Date: 2012-12-21 09:40 pm (UTC)I haven't read the manhwa so I can't say anything about that, but the drama plot is clear to me? A young man living in Korea under the Japanese Empire is transformed by his experiences from a resigned citizen working for the Empire, to not just a freedom fighter, but a national hero. His struggle of how he becomes this new person is really interesting to watch, and I think Joowon did a great job of it.
To each their own though. What were your fav dramas of the year?

Date: 2012-12-21 11:57 pm (UTC)I (sadly) actually finished Fashion King. Yoo Ah In completely failed me in that drama. He's such a good actor, I have no idea wth he was doing there.
I started King Two Hearts, and it wasn't bad... but for some reason I stopped watching it? A lot of people seem to really like it though. I will probably finish eventually just for my Seung Gi.

His performance in Gaksital is simple one of the very best this year. :D

And... I remember KBS handed out multiple couple awards during SKKS's year. Are they only selecting one winning pair now?
