Perfect Princess IU could grace our TV (or laptop) screens again!

There is a very strong chance that IU will be cast as the female lead for an upcoming drama, “The Best Lee Soon Shin.”

According to broadcast sources, IU is positively looking through the project, which is to be aired in April of next year on KBS. Discussions with the production team have already taken place since months ago and currently, there is a strong possibility that IU will confirm her decision to join the cast.

“The Best Lee Soon Shin” is about a bright girl, Lee Soon Shin, from a small island village, who moves to the big city of Seoul and works to become a big star. IU will be playing the lead role of Lee Soon Shin if she decides to join. Lee Soon Shin’s character is brave, bright and cheerful. If IU joins the cast, it will be her return to the small screen after two years since “Dream High.”

“The Best Lee Soon Shin” will be a weekend drama on KBS, which means that it will air for a lengthy time period. The drama’s main PD, Yoon Sung Shik spoke with Newsen on December 20 and said, “We are having internal discussions about the casting situation.”

“The Best Lee Soon Shin” will air in April of next year after “My Daughter Seo Young.”

I've only seen her act in Dream High, and it was pretty good. Dream High didn't really have any deep characters though so i can't say she's amazing or anything.

she was pretty good on dream high, i adored her as pilsook, but i don't want her to be an actress, which will sound weird since most of my fav acts, but not all idols need to act, and iu definitely doesn't, i wish she would focus just in her music which i love the most.

Why don't they like idol actors? Just because they want them to stick to their own field or don't want them to push out other actors?

Well that's stupid. it should only matter if you're good at it or not. where you started shouldn't be a factor. Actors sing for their own OSTs all the time anyway. Goes both ways. so jisub and lee jun ki even release albums...

I think part of it is idols are taking a lot of the jobs away from actual newbie actors. Like you have idols like Minhyuk or Jungshin getting recognition with the daily dramas and even some taking the leads like Yonghwa or IU, in this case (without very much experience, either).

It's sad, IU seems to have a lot of potential as an actress and I'm sure she'll suit the role wonderfully but I can't say the netizens don't have a point.
