Obviously, the footage may be disturbing to some. Watch at your own discretion.

I'm not very familiar with road laws in Korea, but there's no doubt the driver was going incredibly fast, although another car passes almost as fast a few moments later. Were they in a fast lane or something of the sort? Even so, it seems pretty foolish to be driving at that speed when the road conditions are so bad.

WOW.
They just careened off into darkness.
Sad.
I hope her recovery is smooth.

Where were they rushing off to? I doubt they had a schedule to attend at such an hour right? Though that does not excuse his speeding.

doesn't matter if they have somewhere to be - it seems like korean drivers (especially professional drivers, taxis, buses, the like) only have two modes: gas pedal all the way down, or brakes all the way down. everytime i get into a car it feels like it could be my last ride.

and like a poster below said add in the snow and the roads in korea are one hell of a mess right now.

ps. i like your icon ^.^

Damn kdramas must have gotten one thing right - nobody ever seems to be paying attention to the road. And that's scary as hell. I'd stick to taking the train everywhere possible.

Thanks :D

Idol vans are awful for this. Seen them come out of broadcast buildings and make illegal turns at top speed in the middle of a several lane highway, etc...

I see at least 2 cars zooming past very quickly so I don't know if the driver was going that fast...correct me if I'm interpreting it wrong.

it doesn't look like they were going all that fast to me either...I was watching the lines on the road, and the time stamp at the corner, and it looked like they actually had slowed down before they started to slide :S

Secret's van is actually the vehicle you see speed by on the left side of the camera. This footage is not from Secret's vehicle.

I think you made the same mistake I did...the car filming isn't the one that was in the accident:S

dunno if this has been posted already, but this actually makes it a lil clearer:

Holy :O :O I wondered why the car was slowing down and moving to the side in the video posted but this shows the car actually skidding and rolling onto the side of the road :O that must of been so scary

okay, wait...I'm under the impression that blackbox was from the car in the accident...but someone on youtube mentioned that it's the "camera" car? o.O

the first car the speeds by, follow it. That's the car Secret was in.

i just imagined all of them screaming while the car flew off the road.
freaking eerie O_o

never been in an accident this bad, but I can tell you from what I experienced, screaming is actually one of the last things that go through your mind...everything comes at you in slow motion until you land...THAT is when the screaming starts :S

I've been in an accident pretty similar to this and my brain pretty much blacked out everything after hitting the guard rail. But you're absolutely right, it's when you land and gather what has just happened that you begin to freak out.

Yeah. Everything was just spinning in a blink. Thanks God it was ok, and it's no where close to this.

idk, I was watching the Left Eye documentary and a few of them screamed when the car swerved. That's sort of what went through my head. But I'm sure it differs on the people.

Those poor girls :(

I think it depends on the person. when I got in accident, nothing went in slow motion, it was just like, "shit were going to crash/how can I brace myself" and them "blam!," so it really depends on the accident/person.

Same. We were hit by a drunk driver by once, you just can't think, it's so surreal, you know it happens to other people but you never expect it'll happen to you. And then the panic sets in and you try to get out as fast as you can. I don't even want to imagine how Secret must have felt:(

Was in Korea for a week or so, travelled around a lot so I'll compare it to Canada's. Seat belts are not mandatory and generally drivers drive pretty fast. Motorcycles and scooters thread in and out A LOT and quite dangerously too imo they do some other majorly dangerous things that I rarely see here. I wouldn't drive in Korea or at least Seoul.

let's admit, in Ukraine the most danger comes from the road itself. I tell legends about Ukrainian roads~

Apparently, seatbelts are only mandatory for the driver and the one in the passenger seat, same as here in the Philippines. Seems like Korean drivers are exactly like the drivers here.

I've been driving for 4 years now, and I'm still terrified of everything around me.

Are schedules so important that lives should be put at risk?

Korea is one of the most dangerous places to drive in the world, period. And the fact that Korea is really lax about seat belts is a cause of many injuries as well.

Totally irresponsible driving here. Even if you are not going fast, serious injury can occur. And there was snow and ice and Seoul drivers are not used to as much snow as they had this year, so the driver should have taken more care. The driver should be fired or at least suspended or not allowed to drive.

I've been in an accident myself where I had to go to the hospital because I was knocked out and couldn't breath. You don't think in those moments, you kind of just black out even before it hits at least for me.

I've only ever been in taxis around here, but drivers are pretty crazy. They go in and out of lanes whenever they want and motorcycles and scooters weave through everywhere (they even drive on the sidewalk...)

That footage is a little confusing, but still scary :/

Op, drivers in Korea are just wild. Bus drivers, taxi drivers, and motorcyclists even in busy city areas drive so fast it's terrifying.

Driving in Korea is terrifying in general, but imo taxis and idol vans are the biggest culprits for reckless driving. Speeding, making illegal turns, swerving between cars, they do it all :/

I remember driving in my friend's mom's car and I put my seat belt on by reflex but my friend said, "I should do the same but it feels so weird since I've only worn this once or twice." Hope it wasn't the same with Secret but I've noticed on TV that not many idols wear seat belts...

I hope they recover quickly!

just pure recklessness in those conditions (and don't say "it is to be expected cause everyone in korea drives that way" like many of the comments i got in the other post....it's just pure recklessness period.)

I live in BC, Canada and this kind of thing happens all the time in the mountain passes especially now during winter because of the speed people are going. Except if you go over the guard railing's in mountain there isn't much chance :/ my sister almost died last year from a similar crash the car she and her friends were in was only a few metres from going off a cliff. They're extremely lucky it was not worse then it was. I drive the speed limit and go even slower when road conditions are bad some of my friends make fun of me which I think is really ridiculous to tease someone about I rather arrived where I want to be late but alive then not arrive at all.

Ok yes he's driving fast and so are the other cars, everyone is driving too fast but the truck. Probably because he has a camera that records his actions for the company.
Sadly clear roads mean high speeds.
Holy shit he took the curve like it was nothing, didn't slow down for shit.

Probably not that fast, speeding levels are low in Korea, I think this camera car was moving much slower.

accidents are really common in korea afaik. no wonder seohyun is always wearing a seatbelt and asking the 8 members to do the same. thank God their injuries were only minor ones. driver should be fired smh
