BoA to recycle Only One in Japan

BoA has announced that she will be releasing a new Japanese single next year! This will be her first Japanese single in about two and a half years.

BoA’s anticipated single will be titled “Only One” and is slated for release on February 20th. It will include the Japanese version of “Only One” and “The Shadow“, which were included in her latest Korean album, “Only One”. Both songs are written and composed by BoA herself.

Her Japanese discography is actually really good, I'd like her to release a few new songs preferably with Crystal Kay and m-flo instead of remaking some old Korean stuff.

So happy about this, for once more excited than I'd be for an original release. We may get another dance video of Only One!

Favorite single of the year by far and so happy it outsold Hurricane Venus.

Whether it sells in Japan or not is not that important. Her commercial peak there is obviously behind her, but artistically Only One is so right for her at this point, so right for showcasing what she does best.

I would have rather original japanese song. Only One mini album was beautiful and very well played, it sounded really grown up and personnal, I would love to see BoA going on this path in Japan as well.
But since Only One was so a hit for me, I don't really mind it being released in Japan. Hoping the next songs will be original songs.

She did with her Identity album tbh, but it didn't sell well which is a shame. I personally love it. <3 I think a mixture of Identity + Only One would be amazing tho. <3

I was more thinking about the light acoustic sound from Only One. Lots of songs were using piano, guitars... Identity was great, but half of the songs had an electropop background (and the others were beautiful ballads, from what I feel about this album). And I need to check if Boa was involved in the composition, I heard it was the case on Only One ?
I tend to like Boa's Japanese albums more than the Korean ones. It always seems a bit more personnal and "full of thoughts" I don't know how to say that. I should go a bit older in her discography, I don't know enough. But from her latest works, that my feeling :)

It mostly annoys me with KPOP in general that they recycle everything by putting it in a different language, sigh. I rather have original songs (even though some songs just seem to sound better in Japanese than Korean). I love BoA and her Japanese material is always amazing and on point - so I do hope she releases some new songs again soon!

I love Only One, so I will reserve my judgement until I hear it.
