Kim Jaejoong in Song Jihyo’s eyes? “He’s soft-hearted but never shows it.”

Song Jihyo explained, “I think Jaejoong will have to answer many difficult questions concerning sasaeng fans, sponsor, etc. in interviews as he plays Choi Hyun, a Hallyu star, and as relevant scenes also appear in the movie. He won’t absolutely show it but I think behind those not-easy-to-deal-with interviews, his feelings get hurt. He’s delicate like that.”
“Since he had to filmed at the same time, it happened often that he only got to sleep 30 minutes a day. Despite that, he has never show sign of tiredness at the filming location. Even if he was half asleep and half awake with dark circles under his eyes, once the camera was on, he would do his job properly. I felt very badly seeing him fall asleep on the bed at the set during a short break.”
She added, “Actually, when people are tired or sick, they are bound to act selfish. I felt thankful yet sorry that he wasn’t like that.”

Kim Jaejoong “Box office failure… Can I expect too much at first attempt?”

Code name: Jackal is the debut movie of JYJ’s Kim Jaejoong (26) but the box office result is not really good. He still has a long way to go. The movie was released on big screen on the 15th and cumulative audience number is 180.000. However, he is not disappointed and brightly smiles.
“It’s sad but it’s OK. You can’t expect too much at your first attempt. Even great actors can fail. I’m still thankful that I could get a foothold in film industry. Thanks to this movie, I have motivation to keep going with other movies.”
Toward his ‘messy’ image in Code Name: Jackal, Kim Jaejoong doesn’t feel burdened or worried. “As many people like the ‘decorated’ image of mine, I did worry that it might hurt their feelings. However, there are also people who like that [messy] image. That’s why I could feel relieved. It’s just that, the tension and the pressure were still there because I’m the main lead.”
“I didn’t think about the box office while filming. Instead, I was worried about how singer-turn-actor Kim Jaejoong can harmonize naturally with other actors/actresses. I also wanted to show that I was taking on a new challenge, just like when I did Protect the Boss and Dr. Jin.”
I asked him if he has thought about the reason why JYJ is so famous. He said, “You know that we don’t have freedom [to do what we want to do]. We’re trying hard to do what we can within this unfair fence. I think, seeing such unfortunate situation, many more people are willing to help us. There should have had many ways for us to communicate with our fans but we’re limited. However [thanks to that] we got the concentration because we don’t have any place other than the concert venue. That’s why other people might think that we’re very famous.” (Laugh)
After breaking out of DBSK, their fight with SM Entertainment is still ongoing. Their appearance is blocked on both terrestrial and cable TV. Kim Jaejoong expressed, “I feel like we’re riding a wave of twists and turns.” In the middle of an immense popularity, they had experienced the bottom and then stood up again. “I think those experiences are fruitful. I’m looking forward to the future of 10 years later.”
Aside from music activities, JYJ’s members are expanding into the acting field. Although Kim Jaejoong has set foot in the film industry, it’s regrettable that his popularity is not like other members’. Does he envy his members? And what advice do the members give to each other?
“I don’t envy my members. I’m the type that is severe with myself. If you look at the bigger picture, this process is very helpful to me. Also, we respect and admire each other. So, we don’t give each other advice. We believe in our own abilities. I know that we’re not the type of person that can live comfortably without ambition. ‘Only if I have motivation, I can surely make it!’ I’m trying harder with that thought.” (Laugh)
One more year slips by and he will welcome his 10th debut anniversary. Kim Jaejoong said, “10 years ago, I have thought about 10 years later. Now that 10 years passed by, I think I’m on the path that I want to go.” He burst out laughing by saying jokingly, “I’m glad that, luckily, compared to 10 years ago, Junsu, Yoochun and I haven’t become old men.”

JYJ appeared in Osaka! Over 20,000 inquiries from fans

November 15TH, Osaka Prefecture- At the opening ceremony of the exhibition of Hallyu goods and KPOP, “Korea Brand & Entertainment Expo (KBEE 2012)” held at Intex Osaka, the appointed publicity ambassador, famous group JYJ and singer, Park Hyo Shin appeared.
According to the Korean Media news, when asked about activities in Japan, Jaejoong said, “There are various reasons but, if we could find a solution we would like to be active in drama and as singers. We are always ready to do (these) activities”
After the opening ceremony, a K-POP stage performance was held and participated by Park Hyo Shin and 6 members idol group, VIXX
Thousands of fans could not enter the ceremony hall cheered outside
Just to catch a glimpse of JYJ, more than 20,000 applications were received from the Japanese fans for the invitation to the opening ceremony, but the invited was only 500 fans. On the day, the line started since early morning at the venue and there were thousands of fans who could not manage to enter the ceremony hall.
KBEE 2012, the exhibition is the largest scale expo of Hallyu in a foreign country. Due to the appearance of the famous stars, during the two days expo, more than 30,000 people came to visit the exhibitions.

PS: So many interviews! I just picked the more interesting ones.
Same for the pictures really because - maybe it's just me - he's looking a bit rough in most of them. Especially in the photoshoots. All that drinking and smoking must be catching up to him. I wish he'd put on some weight.
PPS: I do have a life but I'm putting off doing the 4 commentaries I'm supposed to hand in soon. 2 of them on books I haven't read (Portrait of the Artist.. - Joyce & Beloved - Toni Morrison). Eek. Screwed.

He's looking rough because he himself said in his recent stage greetings that he's only been getting 2 hours of sleep... not to mention that he lost his voice completely during his fanmeetings and is barely getting better. Nice assumptions though

Yes I agree that's a factor. However I noticed this a long time ago. The lack of sleep & stress just added to that so he's looking even more rough than usual. Imo.

He does look rough. and I think his lifestyle in general probably is a factor. like all the drinking and smoking for one. compare to junsu who works alot too, but doesnt drink or smoke at all. Junsu looks great. and he's starting to gain some weight back too bless. I mean admittedly alot of idols smoke and drink (often both) but I suppose there's levels. Plus I wonder if his lack of sleep extends beyond work. I have no real evidence for this but I get the feeling he probably has trouble sleeping period. Just strikes me as someone who would have those problems.

*sigh* I wish Jaejoong would look a little healthier too. I think he's looking rough because of a bunch of things, not drinking and smoking. They aren't helping of course, but it's more than those things. Regardless of how he looks though I'm always going to be a fan <3.

He shouldn't feel bad that the movie isn't doing as great. He has really serious competition since Joong Ki's movie came out. "A Werewolf Boy" is absolutely killing it in the box office I heard so there's probably not much audience left over for Jackal.

That's what I think as well. The weight loss makes him look so frail too. Plus he's entering that phase when we start to notice whether a person will be one of those who will a) look younger b) look their age c) suddenly and almost out of the blue look much older.

Right now he falls into category b) I think.

OP, Beloved is the WORST! Just write something about journeys or a mother's love. If you need to, watch the movie with Oprah; if I recall correctly it is pretty true to the book.

I had to read both of those books in high school. Portrait of an Artist is AWFUL, but Beloved isn't as bad in my opinion! English as a second language would make it way tougher though. Good luck!!

He is pretty busy, and an alcoholic + workaholic. Bad combination.

Unfortunately, 'Jackal' has bad editing and bad plot, not a romance like it said, nor somewhat comedy. It's an indie dark comedy movie, but its trailer sell it as romance/comedy. SK currently is into that chick flicks era that US used to be in, during the 80-90's film industry. If you take a look at the list of movies that do well this year, it's mostly movies that are family oriented, or movies that couples can go in and enjoy. 'Jackal' was also released on the same day as 'Breaking Dawn 2'. SK is crazy for 'Twilights'... LOL. So it has to battle 'Wolfboy' and 'Breaking Dawn 2', both are romance, movies that girls would take their boyfriends to go watch. Even Park Shi Hoo movie 'Confession of Murders' couldn't stand a chance against those two movies, though it fair better than 'Jackal'.

Better luck next time. Though right now, I wants him in a drama. With movies, I have to wait months, with dramas, I can see him every week.

Let's just say, he got Dr. Jin away with, a drama where he encountered both SSH and PMY, two people that he would encounter in his acting career, sooner or later, especially PMY. I considered him to be lucky to be in a drama with the two bad commercial actors in one project, while still getting 12% rating consistently every ep , as well as meeting veteran actors as Lee Bum Seo and Kim Eung Soo, as well as a new boy toy, Jin Yi Han. And he got good reviews for his acting with that drama.


So, crossing my fingers, that he won't encounter another drama like Dr. Jin. Though, even great actor like Kim Eung Soo has Dr. Jin on his resume, so yeah, to make it short. I'm fine with another Dr. Jin if his role is good, I can just watch his cut scenes. Though I would like for him to be a big movie star, but that industry is tough, he needs to build up his skills first.

I didn't even watch the whole thing, it was so hard to watch the two leads. I only watch cuts of KTs lol, and I think even the writer is KT's biased towards the end. She/he really shafted the leads storyline, even Lee Ha Eung's storyline was somewhat shafted for KT's. Too bad JJ is not yet confident or aggressive to take up lead roles. That, and he's not experienced enough to deal with actresses like PMY, who has less presence than him. No.1 reason why their scenes was so off was, one, she doesn't know how to act around his strong presence or guide him; and two, he don't know how to guide or approach her due to him being a hoobae to her.

Glad I'm not the only one who finds Dr. Jin hard to watch. I held off until recently, and even now I'm only 6 episodes in. It's just so freaking hard when the writing is SO bad. And the main character, I dunno if the writing is to blame or his acting, but something is just not working. :/

You're definitely not the only one, actually a lot of people finds the show hard to watch, but I think, if I remembered correctly what I read, most held it out for KT's and Lee Ha Eung's storylines. SK has weird taste, the drama rating was well above 10%, until the last ep, which was delayed because of the Olympic, but partially due to KT's storyline ending earlier in the ep.

It's both, bad writing and SSH's bad acting. He's known in SK for being an actor with just looks. And it didn't help that the lead female in this drama, PMY fail to show up.

There are new interviews that have come out again TT I How many post of Jaejoong interviews can I actually make.. New ones come out everyday. Some are really interesting I think.
He's really the boss of giving good interviews.
I'll just wait a couple days before making a new one.
