Singer Juniel is planning to make a comeback later this month.
Agency FNC Entertainment shared photos of the solo artist in the studio. As her debut song “Illa Illa” ranked high on music charts for 30 straight weeks, fans are looking forward to what the singer-songwriter will return with next.
Juniel stated, “I’m planning to return with a new album and greet you all. I’m in the final stages of recording these days, and when I think about standing on stage, I feel nervous, but I’m very much looking forward to it. I was really happy that ‘Illa Illa’ received so much love, and I hope this new song will too.”
Still no tag ;_;

Date: 2012-11-10 12:16 am (UTC)I really feel like it's a shame that "illa illa" is how most people in Korea or kpop comms know her, because imo, it's not a song that is really representative of her music style and creativity. And even the original songs she put out on her first Korean mini ("Mask", "Ready go!", "Everlasting Sunset") end up sounding more like Korean remakes, because they were already released in Japanese months earlier.

Date: 2012-11-10 12:09 am (UTC)btw, for anyone unimpressed by "illa illa", a song written for her rather than one she composed herself, have a listen instead to these self-composed songs from her Japanese discography:
It's kind of sad that she's gotten to flex her creative muscles more in Japan, and in a second language, than she has in Korea/her native tongue.

Date: 2012-11-10 02:20 am (UTC)FNC does CNBlue the same way. Maybe they'll let her do more in the future.
Re: unrepentant stanning
Date: 2012-11-10 02:57 am (UTC)It's annoying, because fans and the general audience in Korea would probably appreciate more original work put out by groups, if the success of Busker Busker is any indication.

Date: 2012-11-10 04:08 am (UTC)And ditto, I wouldn't have known about her Japanese releases if someone hadn't mentioned them in one of the earliest Juniel posts made on this comm. In fact, I remember giving the Korean mini a listen and thinking, this sounds promising, so learning that much of it was essentially a "remake" of her Japanese stuff was like unexpectedly receiving a present. I know I tend to gush when it comes to Juniel, but I can honestly say that she has talent, and the lyrics/melodies she's composed attest to that. So I really hope she gets to show more of that, and brush aside the "wannabe IU" remarks aside.
Re: unrepentant stanning
Date: 2012-11-10 04:40 am (UTC)Please keep gushing, lol. I actually like the IU comparisons because I like them both, but I know it could be a burden for Juniel because IU is already so popular.
Re: unrepentant stanning
Date: 2012-11-10 04:50 am (UTC)I didn't like the comparisons partly because they fueled all this unnecessary hatred towards Juniel :/ but I guess all rookies have to face some kind of hatred when they start out, like it toughens them? I admit I'm a little overprotective of Juniel, though. How could anyone hate this adorable moppet?
