Big Bang to Perform on Music Station July 17th!

Big Bang is scheduled to appear on July 17th's Music Station program on TV Asahi. This is a great honor for Big Bang as it took TVXQ / DBSK / Tohoshinki a very long time and patience before being invited.

The TV Asahi website for Music Station states that Big Bang will be performing their new single "Gara Gara Go!" Congratulations to Big Bang for being invited to Music Station.

That's really great for them though. I have to say, I think the sucess and popularity of BoA and DBSK really opened the door for other K-pop stars to be accepted in Japan. I hope Big Bang and other stars who venture out to that market can become successful too.

Something really irks me about this article. Why are they even talking about DBSK in the first place? The circumstances are completely different. Dbsk debuted as a jpop group they didn't ride the "hallyu wave" as people call it. The comment about it taking a long time for DBSK to be invited is rather lame and insulting IMO. Oh well. I hope BB appreciates the breaks they are getting in the japanese market thanks to ppl like BoA and DBSK who worked their asses off to get where they are.

DBSK was banned by JE. Not like they didn't earn the right to be on Music Station as fast as Big Bang did.

And true, BoA, DBSK and other Kpop artists like Younha opened up the doors to Big Bang and other Korean artists but it's not like Big Bang isn't working hard to where they are now. Don't tell me they didn't deserve the same success DBSK has now just because DBSK was there first.

I think so. I mean, jeebus, it's hard to imagine JE suddenly churning out a hiphop boyband as competition.
Or in my own slightly twisted world, this is just Universal's tactic to avoid the jimusho by making Big Bang seem more of Hallyu artists or something.

Hallyu is the "Korean Wave", Southern Korea's sudden popularity throughout Asia. They mean that DBSK debuted in Japan way before all these Korean groups started going over there, so they kind of started it, I guess. I think they mean that DBSK and BoA got Korean music more popular in Japan, and they worked real hard for it, so since people in Japan were with the wave already, it was easy for other Korean artists, such as Big Bang.
